COVID-19 Lockdown: Sony offers ‘Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’ and ‘Journey’ as free gifts for PlayStation fans

PlayStation Store has also announced Spring Sale that will end on April 28.

Amid the staying-at-home trend to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Sony continues supporting the safe choice and the need to play at home for gamers across the globe. As a thank you gesture, Sony Interactive Entertainment has come out with the Play At Home initiative to help keep the PlayStation community entertained at home.

Under the Play At Home initiative, Sony has stated that PlayStation’s ‘Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’ and ‘Journey’ games are available for free for a limited time through digital downloads– starting April 15 till May 5, 2020.

Most of the you do not need any introduction to ‘Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’. This three-game collection from the masters at Naughty Dog includes:

  1. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
  2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
  3. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

“We can’t imagine a better time for globe-trotting adventures with Nathan Drake, an iconic cast of characters, and thrilling treasure-hunting action gameplay,” an official blog post by Sony revealed.

Moving on to ‘Journey’ now, this is a celebrated adventure is full of mystery. The game’s life-affirming message is timeless, and perhaps more important now than ever before.

In line with Sony Interactive Entertainment’s aim in preserving Internet access in the US and Europe, gamers may face a delay in downloading the games. However, games can be accessed free once downloaded.

Besides this, PlayStation has also taken care of independent developers as they are vital to the heart and soul of the gaming community. “We understand the hardships and financial struggles that many smaller gaming studios are facing. With that, SIE has developed a fund to support them during this time. We have earmarked $10 million to support our independent development partners,” said Jim Ryan, President and CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Store has also announced Spring Sale where fans could save up to 70% on Marvel’s Spider-Man: GOTY Edition, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and more! For movie and TV titles, visit PS Store on console. But don’t wait too long, Spring Sale ends April 28.
