Next time you visit Taj Mahal or the Qutub Minar, just check if you get access to free Wi-Fi over there. Yes, as per recent reports, the Bharat Sanchal Nagar Limited (BSNL) is investing Rs 7,000 crore forĀ setting up Wi-Fi hotspots at different tourist spots across the country, and Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar could be among them.
Anupam Shrivasatva, Chairman and managing director of BSNL revealed this while speaking at one of the events and told reporters that Wi-Fi is an obvious choice for BSNL going forward.
So, how would BSNL be going forward with the implementation? The governmentĀ organisation would take help from its recently added partner in the project, QuadGen Wireless. Together, they will integrate 3G, 4G networks so that customer can be seamlessly transferred to Wi-Fi.
The idea is to get 2,500 Wi-Fi hotspots up and running by end of this financial year.
