Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform, Instagram, has announced fresh new updates for the creators on its platform looking to grow their audience and engage their followers. The company is now offering new Insights for Reels and Live so as to provide access to detailed data about their popularity. This feature is going to take on its rival TikTok, which already provides statistics about the reach of the creator’s content.
The new Instagram Insights for Reels and Live will help independent creators, influencers and businesses by providing stats for their short videos. The company in its blog post said, “At Instagram, we’re committed to helping creators turn their passions into a living and supporting small businesses. As part of our ongoing effort to give professionals the tools they need, we are rolling out several updates to our Insights product that will help creators and businesses better understand and evaluate their performance on Instagram.”
Instagram Insights for Reels and Live will help creators and businesses understand how their content is performing. According to the photo-sharing app, it will now show new metrics including Plays, Accounts Reached, Likes, Comments, Saves, and Shares for Reels. On the other hand, Accounts Reached, Peak Concurrent Viewers, Comments, and Shares will be displayed for Live on its platform. In addition to this, the social media giant has also announced that all these metrics will also be included in Insights to provide a broader picture into how Reels and Live shape an account’s performance.
In order to provide transparency into which types of accounts you’re reaching and which content formats are the most effective at driving Reach Instagram has also launched new detailed information about Reach in Account Insights.
Over the coming months, Instagram will also release new preset time frame options in Insights, expanding beyond the last 7 and 30 days. The company also vouched for it to begin supporting Insights on desktop.
“We will be continually updating the Insights experience throughout 2021 and beyond to better meet the needs of creators and businesses,” the blogpost said further.
