Meta Owned popular photo and reels sharing app Instagram has announced the rollout of new features across the globe as well as in India. The company has brought Instagram Gifts, new editing tools for Reels, and GIF comments on posts and reels. According to the company, these features will help creators unleash their creativity and earn more from their Reels content.
While announcing the new Instagram feature the company said, “Today, we previewed new Instagram features at a product education workshop in our Mumbai office, to help creators unleash their creativity and earn more from their Reels content. These features include GIF comments on posts and Reels, Instagram Gifts and new editing features on Reels.”
Instagram showcased that creators can use Instagram across surfaces and interact over shared artistic interests at a session in its Mumbai office. The app’s latest features, such as GIF comments on posts and Reels, Gifts, and new Reels editing features, were previewed. According to Instagram, these new features will be rolling out gradually in India.
GIFs comments on posts and Reels
As the name suggests users will be able to post a GIF as a comment on Instagram posts as well as on Reels. All you need to do is tap the Comment icon on a post you want to comment on. Then tap the GIF icon to the right of the text box to access the GIPHY library and then again tap on the GIF you want to use to add your comment.
Instagram Gifts
Instagram gifts have been under development since 2022. This is a new way for creators to easily begin earning money from fans who want to show them their appreciation. Creators will be able to get gifts from fans who buy them directly within the Instagram app using Stars. These themed virtual gifts let fans creatively express their appreciation, and help creators earn money from fans who love their reels. According to the company, Instagram Gifts will be rolling out in India in the next few weeks.
Reels editing features
New Reels editing features are also rolling out for creators in India and globally. Three new capabilities which include Split, Speed and Replace will be available. One can now easily split a single clip into two using the split feature. Also, the speed of video clips can up increased and slow down. Replace will allow you to swap one clip out for another without changing the timing or order of other clips, audio and other elements in your reel
