Samsung Galaxy A70 officially announced weeks before the launch date: Here are all the details

A day after being leaked on the TENAA listings, Samsung Galaxy A70 has officially been announced by the South-Korean technology giant. With the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy A70, another device has been added to the ever-increasing line-up of the Samsung Galaxy A-series.

As expected, Samsung Galaxy A70 comes with triple-rear camera setup and sports a 6.7-inch display. Similar to other Galaxy A-series devices, the Samsung Galaxy A70 too runs on Android 9.0 Pie skinned with One UI. The device comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and it has been announced prior to the launch event Samsung is scheduled to hold on April 10.

Samsung Galaxy A70 price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A70’s pricing and availability details hasn’t been provided by the company as of now. But it is expected to announce the same on the launch event that is scheduled on April 10. Samsung Galaxy A70 comes in Black, Blue, Coral and White colour options.

Speaking on the smartphone’s launch, DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics said, “Today’s consumers are using their phones in a more visually active and authentic way – sharing their experiences and staying connected longer. These connections can only thrive when the most essential features allow people to enhance interactions through spontaneous, collaborative, and genuine connection. This requires an evolution. Which is why, to meet the needs of this emerging generation, we created the new Galaxy A70 – designed for the way people are connecting now.”

Samsung Galaxy A70 specifications

Samsung Galaxy A70 sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-U display that comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Exynos processor (dual 2.0GHz + Hexa 1.7GHz) coupled with 6GB or 8GB RAM. Samsung Galaxy A70 comes with 128GB of internal storage and has support for a microSD card of up to 512GB. The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie skinned with One UI. It has dual-SIM support with a dedicated microSD card slot. Samsung Galaxy A70 houses a huge 4,500mAh battery and comes with 25W Super-Fast charge support.

For imaging duties, the Samsung Galaxy A70 comes with a triple-rear camera setup which comprises of a 32MP primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and 123 degrees along with a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Other features of the Samsung Galaxy A70 include an in-display fingerprint scanner and facial recognition. Samsung Galaxy A70 is 164.3 x 76.7 x 7.9mm in terms of dimensions and comes with Samsung Health, Samsung Pay, and Bixby.
