Samsung Galaxy Fold now available in India: Pricing and Availability

The Foldable device will be available for pre-order from October 4

The South Korean smartphone manufacturer today announced the launch of its first-ever foldable phone in India. The company launched the much-awaited smartphone of the year Samsung Galaxy Fold in the country. India is one of the few countries on the list where the smartphone has been launched. Galaxy Fold features the world’s first Dynamic AMOLED 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display unfolds a high-end large screen experience. Those who are interested can book their devices in advance from October 4 and will start selling from October 20 onwards.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Pricing and availability

As mentioned earlier, Samsung will put the Galaxy Fold for pre-booking from October 4 onwards via on Samsung’s official online store, Samsung Shop, and offline in 35 cities across select 315 outlets including Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru. Samsung has launched the foldable smartphone in the country ar Rs 1,64,999. This price is for the single 12GB of RAM with 512GB of internal storage variant. In India, the Fold will be available lone Cosmos Black colour option. The company will start delivering the smartphone from October 20.

Besides this on the purchase of the smartphone Galaxy Fold users can take advantage of the Galaxy Fold Premier service along with one -year Infinity Flex Display Protection which includes accidental damage coverage with one-time protection, genuine parts, expert repair service and Galaxy Fold’s display. If the display accidentally gets damaged the users can get it repaired for a discounted fee of Rs 10,500.

Samsung Galaxy Fold specifications

Galaxy Fold features two displays a 7.3-inch dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Main Display with a resolution of 2152×1536 pixels and a 4.2:3 aspect ratio display when opened. When folded the front display sports a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Display with 21:9 aspect ratio. It draws the power from 7㎚ 64-bit Octa-Core Processor at 2.84GHz (Maximum Clock Speed) + 2.41GHz + 1.78GHz offering 12GB of RAM and 512GB of inbuilt storage (UFS 3.0). The device runs on Android 9 Pie skinned One UI on top.

In terms of camera capabilities, Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with six cameras on it. On the cover, it has a 10-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture, while the front dual camera set up includes a 10-megapixel f/2.2 primary sensor and an 8-megapixel RBG depth camera with an f/1.9 aperture. The triple rear camera set up consists of  16-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, with Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, Optical Image Stabilisation and variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with PDAF, OIS, an f/2.4 aperture, and with 2X optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom with HDR+ recording.

The foldable phone houses dual batteries on each side with a total capacity of 4,380mAh with 15W wired as well as wireless fast charging technology.

The connectivity options includes G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light, barometer, geomagnetic, gyroscope, in-display fingerprint, and proximity sensor.
