Our Take
The display on the Xiaomi 12 Pro is slightly smaller than the Vivo X80 Pro. Both support HDR10+ and a 120Hz refresh rate, but only the Xiaomi 12 Pro has Dolby Vision support. Both phones have a slightly curved display on the sides.
One significant advantage of the Vivo X80 Pro is that it is IP68 water and dust resistant, making it more durable. Both devices have the best cameras with 50MP primary sensors, but the Vivo X80 Pro’s main camera also has Laser AF and gimbal OIS.
Both phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which supports 5G connectivity. As a result, you can expect similar performance, including high-end gaming, multitasking, and longer battery life.
Unfortunately, none of these phones allows you to expand your storage. On the software front, the Vivo X80 Pro ships with Origin OS based on Android 12, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro ships with MIUI 13 based on Android 12. A 4,700mAh battery powers the Vivo X80 Pro, which also supports an 80W fast charge. The Xiaomi 12 Pro, on the other hand, is powered by a 4,600mAh battery that supports a 120W fast charge.
So, which of the Vivo X80 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Pro should you choose?
When it comes to pricing, there is a significant difference. Both phones are excellent in their categories, but choosing Xiaomi will save you Rs 17,000 in total. However, if you pay more, you’ll get pro cameras with good stabilisation and an IP68 rating. In terms of cameras and durability, the Vivo X80 Pro outperforms the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
