Snap has introduced redesigned Spectacles 3

The glasses are AR sunglasses that can be used to capture photos and 3D videos

Snap Inc. has launched Spectacles 3. The third generation of the spectacles is basically an augmented reality sunglass that is sleek and it features an HD camera that helps in creating depth perception. The limited-edition glasses will start selling on Spectacles.com in November at $380 (approximately Rs 27,088.30)

The limited-edition glasses by Snap comes with dual HD cameras on each side and both are capable to capture photos as well as 3D videos. The photos and the videos can further be transported to the user’s phone and then can be seen in the Snapchat app by tilting the phone for depth perception. The users can also make use of the 3D viewer to view the captured photos and videos in 3D. This viewer is similar to the Google Cardboard that is utilized to hold a phone for 3D viewing of pictures and videos.

The Snap Spectacles 3 have the ability to capture pictures in 1,642×1,642 resolution and it offers 1,216×1,216 resolution videos. The photos and videos can be viewed in either portrait or landscape mode within the Snapchat app without disrupting the perspective, irrespective of how the user embraces the phone.

The product comes in a fresh design along with round lenses for the protection from sun fitted in a squared-off steel frame with adjustable tips. The glasses are introduced in two colours, Carbon and Mineral.

The new product from Snap Inc comes with a 4GB of internal storage that has the capacity to store 100 videos as well as 1,200 photos. The battery takes up to 75 minutes to fully charge and then can be used to record up to 70 videos and more than 200 photos on a single charge. The glasses come with their carry bag that is used for charging the specs along with a USB-C charging cable.

The main objective of the Spectacles 3 is to capture photos and videos that can be transferred to the user’s device in order to share on Snapchat. In addition to this, the glasses also feature new 3D effects to benefit from 3D pictures and videos captured by the Spectacles in Snapchat. To do this the user needs to transfer all the recorded videos and photos manually either via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, as it does not offer automatic transferring of data.

As we mentioned earlier the Spectacles 3 comes with a price tag of $380 (approximately Rs 27,088) that is double the price of the previous variant. The product has been put up for pre-booking and will start selling in November this year.
