Swedish music stream platform Spotify has rolled out a new feature. In a new update, the company brings access to the Swipe to Queue feature. The much-awaited feature is being released to Android users on the beta version of the App. So in the next stable update, all Android users will be able to use the swipe gesture.
For many years, the Swipe to Queue feature was only available to iOS users but soon Android users will be able to access it as the feature has entered into beta testing for Android. The Swipe to Queue feature on Spotify allows the users to easily add tracks to a Spotify queue with a single swipe gesture. Note that the company is yet to make an announcement regarding its Android rollout. The feature was discovered via a Reddit thread. Far-Contact-9369, a Spotify user, responded by pointing out that the feature is now available for Android users.
Additionally, the company purchased Podsights and Chartable in February.
Podsights is a leading podcast advertising measurement service that assists advertisers in more accurately measuring and scaling their podcast advertising. Chartable is a podcast analytics platform that helps publishers understand and grow their podcast audiences by providing tools for promotional attribution and audience insight.
Spotify’s acquisition of Podsights will enable it to assist advertisers in understanding how podcast ads drive actions that are important to their businesses. The company intends to expand these measurement capabilities beyond podcasts to cover the entire Spotify platform, including audio ads within music, video ads, and display ads, over time.
Spotify’s acquisition of Chartable will add to Megaphone’s suite of tools by incorporating Chartable’s audience insights and cutting-edge promotional tools, SmartLinks and SmartPromos. These tools will make it easier for publishers to put audience insights into action and grow their listenership while also growing their businesses.
The company in its announcement said “We believe the opportunity for digital audio and podcast remains significant. With these acquisitions, we’re taking a big step in upleveling digital audio measurement and insights to help the entire industry scale to new heights.”
