Vivo S6 officially launched with 5G support and quad cameras: Pricing and specifications details

The Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has officially launched its new smartphone in the market. The company has launched Vivo S6 in its home market China. Vivo’s new smartphone comes with 5G capabilities. The key highlights of the 5G smartphone include a 6.44-inch full-HD+ display with waterdrop notch, a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and a 48-megapixel primary camera. The device employs an Exynos 980 octa-core processor. For the time being the device will remain in the Chinese market only and the device will take some time to arrive in other markets amid the coronavirus crisis. Vivo S6 pricing and availability

The company has launched Vivo S6 in two variants  8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. The 128GB storage option comes with a price tag of  CNY 2,698 that translates to Rs 28,700 whereas the 256GB storage option has been priced at CNY 2,998 that translates to Rs 31,900. Vivo 5G smartphone has been launched in three colour options Swan Lake, Danube, and Jazz Black.

The device will be available for purchase via the company’s official website, JD.com along with other e retailers starting April 3.

Vivo S6 specifications

Vivo S6 runs on FunTouch OS 10 skinned on top of Android 10. It will come with a 6.44-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution. The display sports a water drop-style notch offering 90.1 percent screen-to-body ratio, 408ppi pixel density, 20:9 aspect ratio and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, there is a 2.26GHz Exynos 980 octa-core processor coupled with  8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage and there’s no support for microSD cards.

In terms of optics, Vivo S6 comprises a circular shaped camera module with quad rear cameras. The camera set up includes a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/1.79 aperture, a secondary  8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 lens. The camera system also supports 4K video recording along with other modes to enhance the photography experience. While on the front there is a  32-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.08 aperture that also supports Face Unlock feature.

The device draws the power from a 4,500mAh battery that comes with 18W fast-charging support. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has support for 5G, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5.1 among others.
