Xiaomi launched 40-inch Full-HD Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition in India

The Smart TV will be available for purchase from tomorrow onwards

The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi today has announced the launch of Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition in India which it has been teasing for weeks. The device is an upgrade to Mi TV 4A full-HD TV which was introduced in the country in September 2019. The Television comes with a refreshing design having almost no edges on three sides of the screen and a slight chin that has the Mi logo. The company claims that the new Mi TV brings an ‘immersive experience’ with ‘beautiful visuals’ and is being called a work of art.

The price of the  Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition has been set at Rs 23,999. The Smart TV is scheduled to go on sale in India starting June 2 which is tomorrow at noon. It will be accessible at Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Studio, and Mi Retail partner stores in the country. However, the availability will be subject to the respective state Govt guidelines of serviceability. The launch offers include up to Rs 1000 off on HDFC Credit & Debit Card EMI.

Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition features

Speaking of the design the Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition features a bezel-less design on all three sides of the screen. There are no edges and has a slight chin that houses the Mi logo. It is a 40-Inch Full-HD Smart TV offering 1,920×1,080 pixels of resolution. The display offers a 93.7% screen to body ratio and 178-degree viewing angle. With Vivid Picture Engine (VPE) technology the Mi TV ensures stunning visuals and true-to-life colours. The VPE is capable of providing an accurate screen calibration, deeper contrasts, and pinpoint precision in colour reproduction.

The Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition runs Android TV 9.0 with an enhanced version of PatchWall that allows users to navigate through more than 25 content partners such as Disney+ Hotstar, Prime Video, and more. The PatchWall brings a slew of unique features to the Smart TV. The Universal Search allows you to find your favourite show/movie on all the possible platforms that you can watch with just one click. Whereas the Kids Mode offers a parental lock that assures your kids to watch suitable content even in universal search. There are other features such as access to Live TV & Sports, Smart Recommendations which lets you discover the latest and trending content on the basis of language and across categories such as movies, originals, TV shows, fitness and documentaries.

Other features such as User centre works as a personal hub for users to create a unique personalized space with unique features like My Watchlist for access to your favourite content across OTT apps. The Television includes two speakers of 10W each that delivers 20W stereo sound output and includes DTS-HD support. The device is powered by a quad-core Amlogic Cortex-A53 CPU, paired with a Mali-450 GPU. It offers 1GB of DDR RAM as well as 8GB of eMMC storage. 

In addition to this, there is a built-in Chromecast and support for Google Assistant. The Smart TV also sports a Mi Quick Wake feature which allows you to resume watching your favourite shows in just 5 seconds. It also comes with the Mi Quick Mute feature that allows users to mute the TV by simply double-tapping the volume down key button.  

For connectivity, it offers  Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, two USB 2.0 ports, three HDMI ports an Ethernet port, S/PDIF, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
