YouTube Premium and YouTube Music have gone up

Google has raised the costs for YouTube Music and YouTube Premium in the United States.

Reportedly the price of YouTube Premium has been revised. The company has increased the cost by $2 to $13.99. In addition to this, the price of YouTube Music Premium has also gone up by $1 to $10.99. To recall the Family Premium plans went up to $22.99 a month last year. So the price of it remains unchanged. Given that Apple and Amazon have recently made similar measures, this is not surprising.

According to 9 to 5 Google individual YouTube Premium subscriptions in the USA will cost $2 more each month, or $13.99, for both new and existing users. Additionally, YouTube is raising the cost of Music Premium from $9.99 to $10.99 per month.

New subscribers can observe this price hike in real-time at youtube.com/premium. YouTube Premium now costs $13.99 per month instead of $11.99 per month. If you choose to subscribe using the iOS YouTube app, the cost is $18.99.

YouTube Spokesperson said, “We’re updating the price for YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium subscribers in the US to continue delivering great service and features. We believe this new price reflects the value of YouTube Premium which allows subscribers to enjoy ad-free YouTube with background and offline play and uninterrupted access to over 100M songs with the YouTube Music app.”

There will be a three-month grace period for legacy subscribers who have been using the service since 2018, afterwards which their fees will rise to new levels. Current subscribers will also get an email letting them know about the price changes.
