Oppo Reno 16, Reno 16c arrived in India, featuring a 50-megapixel selfie camera: Pricing and Specifications

Oppo has officially announced the debut of the Reno 16 Series in the Indian market today. The lineup includes two new models – the Reno 16 and the Reno 16c. Both devices come in multiple colour options. They sport an up to 7,000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging. The standard model is equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, whereas the 16c includes a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. The series has a similar rear camera setup and front camera.

Pricing and Availability

Oppo Reno 16 has launched in India at a starting price of Rs 61,999 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. There is another 12GB RAM model with 256GB storage that comes with a price tag of Rs 67,999.

On the other hand, the price of the Oppo Reno 16c begins at Rs 46,999 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. There are two more models: the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant will be available at Rs 49,999, and the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model will set you at Rs 55,999.

The smartphones are being offered in three beautiful colour options: Starry White, Stellar Purple, and Twilight Violet. The handsets are scheduled to go on sale in the country on July 9 via the company’s official online store and e-commerce platforms – Amazon and Flipkart.

Specifications, Features

In terms of specifications, the Oppo Reno 16 features Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM. The Oppo Reno 16 has LPDDR4x RAM, unlike the Oppo Reno 16c which runs on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. Both devices offer up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Oppo Reno 16 and the Oppo Reno 16c both run on ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.

Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16c are 2 smartphones that come with some awesome display features. The Oppo Reno 16 has an AMOLED display of 6.32 inches with a resolution of 1,216 x 2,640 pixels. It has a high refresh rate of 120Hz for smoother visuals, a pixel density of 460 pixels per inch (ppi) and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits.

The Oppo Reno 16c, on the other hand, boasts a slightly bigger 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080×2,372 pixels and a lower pixel density of 397 ppi. It does, however, tie the Reno 16 for max refresh rate while hitting a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.

Both gadgets have excellent ratings – IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K – demonstrating their resistance to dust and water.

The gadgets share a similar camera setup for both photographs and video recording. The Oppo Reno 16 has triple rear cameras, including a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) main sensor with a 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-600 sensor and optical image stabilisation. It also features a 50-megapixel (f/2.0) ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel (f/2.8) telephoto camera with an 80mm equivalent focal length. The Oppo Reno 16c is less powerful, with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, compared with the 50-megapixel ultrawide camera in the Reno 16. Both the devices come with a 50-megapixel front-facing camera that is perfect for selfies and video calls.

In terms of battery, the Reno 16 has a 6,700mAh battery; on the other hand, the Reno 16c features a slightly bigger 7,000mAh battery. However, both of them have 80W wired fast charging. Devices are secured via an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock capabilities. Dual-band Wi-Fi and 5G and 4G LTE support are also included.
