The OPPO Reno 16 series is gaining popularity after its initial release in China. The company has confirmed launching the new smartphone series in India soon. It will provide a wide range of options, including the conventional Reno 16 and a budget-friendly variant, the Reno 16c. Tipsters have also shared some leaks on the series recently, and a number of industry insiders have provided us with a glimpse into OPPO’s plans for introducing the series in India, an event that is anticipated to occur in July 2026.

Oppo has begun teasing the Reno 16 series for the Indian market. The firm has yet to reveal the launch date of the upcoming product but has confirmed key specs of the devices.

The company describes the Reno 16 Series as inspired by cosmic beauty. The series combines a unique 3D Pop Planet design with HoloVerse 3D technology to provide an immersive visual experience that provokes curiosity and encourages self-expression. Interestingly, the 3D design is only available on the Starry White model that uses complex optical components to create a floating celestial illusion.

The design is further accentuated by tens of millions of microlenses that create a changing stereoscopic appearance, which varies with movement and light.

Adding to the overall design are OPPO’s Floating 3D Glitter finish and the Dynamic Stellar Ring around the camera, which provide a unique and opulent touch. The Reno 16 Series comes in a variety of colours like starry white, twilight violet, and stellar purple and has a seamless, cold-sculpted body that adds to its quality appearance and feel.

The Reno 16 Series has impressive IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, giving excellent defence against splashes, dust and water submersion up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes, as well as protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. The gadget boasts an aerospace-grade aluminium frame that is 200% stronger and 36% more drop-resistant than standard plastic frames, enabling users to shoot from a variety of angles with confidence. Its Splash Touch and Glove Touch technologies also allow the screen to respond to touch even when wet or when wearing gloves, allowing operation in harsh weather situations.

Additionally, the Reno 16 Series has a 3D Pop-Planet design that adds visual depth and changes dynamically with light and motion. The company has disclosed that the Reno 16 series will come in 2 variants – the Reno 16 and the Reno 16c. Both will come with premium AMOLED panels for an immersive viewing experience. The Reno 16 has a small 6.32-inch display with ultra-thin 1.6mm bezels, providing an amazing 93.4% screen-to-body ratio. It also comes with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. Compared to the Reno 16c, it has a slightly bigger 6.57-inch AMOLED display with the same resolution and refresh rate, giving it a better viewing experience.

Both phones have sleek designs that make them easy to use for long periods of time; the Reno 16 is 8.22mm thin and weighs 182g, while the Reno 16c is 8.44mm thick and weighs 195g. Both devices come with brilliant colours and great outdoor visibility. The Reno 16 reaches a top of 1,800 nits, while the Reno 16c maxes out at 1,400 nits, making it easy to see content on the screens even in direct sunlight.
