Xiaomi has announced the 17 Ultra in India, its new flagship smartphone, which has the world’s first Leica 1-inch LOFIC sensor and a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system. The handset is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 CPU and has a large 6,000mAh battery. It was introduced with the standard Xiaomi 17 model after its worldwide introduction on February 28 in Barcelona, and it is now available in India via e-commerce platforms and Xiaomi’s official website.

Price in India, Availability

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has been introduced in India for Rs 1,39,999. The gadget comes in a single configuration, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is available in two colours: black and white. The new phone will go on sale on March 18 via Amazon and the Xiaomi India online shop. Customers who purchase the phone using an SBI credit card might get a major bank discount of Rs 10,000. There is also an intriguing early bird deal that includes a Professional Photography Kit Pro priced at Rs 19,999 for orders made between March 13 and March 17.

There is a familiar trick in personal audio launches. Promise “flagship” sound, add some bass bravado, and hope nobody asks too many questions. The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro launch date is now official, though, and these buds seem ready to do more than just talk a big game. OnePlus has revealed that the new Nord Buds 4 Pro will launch on March 19, with headline features including up to 55dB active noise cancellation, LHDC 5.0 support, titanium-coated drivers, spatial audio, and a lighter 4.4g design per earbud.

A Nord pair aiming higher

OnePlus is positioning the Nord Buds 4 Pro as a more premium-sounding option in its affordable audio lineup. The company says the earbuds can block up to 55 decibels of noise, which would make them the strongest noise-cancelling Nord Buds yet. They have also received TÜV Rheinland high-performance noise cancellation certification, a detail that adds some credibility to the ANC claim beyond the usual launch-day chest-thumping.

That matters because ANC is no longer a bonus feature in wireless earbuds. It is the feature buyers notice first. In crowded commutes, noisy flights, shared workspaces, and cafes full of espresso machines performing a one-act opera, effective noise cancellation can make or break the experience. If OnePlus delivers close to what it is promising here, the Nord Buds 4 Pro could end up attracting buyers who want premium-style features without immediately jumping to the top shelf.

Bass is clearly part of the plan

The second big promise is sound. OnePlus says the Nord Buds 4 Pro use new drivers with 100 per cent more power than the previous Nord Buds 3 Pro. The company is also pushing deep bass as a central part of the pitch, while claiming clearer vocals at the same time. That combination is easier to advertise than to perfect, but it is exactly what many mainstream listeners want from a pair of everyday earbuds.

There is more happening on the codec front, too. The Nord Buds 4 Pro support LHDC 5.0, which points to higher-resolution wireless audio support on compatible devices. Add spatial audio into the mix, and OnePlus is clearly trying to stretch the product beyond simple budget-buds territory. On paper, at least, this looks like a spec sheet built to appeal to both casual listeners and feature-hungry buyers who compare codecs before breakfast.

Smaller case, lighter buds, smarter everyday usability

Design is often where good earbuds quietly win. The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro will come in Radiant Grey and Raven Black, and each bud weighs 4.4 grams. OnePlus has also redesigned the charging case, saying it is more than 10 per cent smaller than the previous generation while still maintaining strong battery expectations. Full battery figures are expected at the March 19 launch.

Call quality is another area getting attention. Each earbud includes three microphones, which should help with voice pickup in windy or noisy conditions. Just as notable is the addition of volume slider controls, a small feature on paper but a very practical one in real life. It means users can adjust volume directly from the buds instead of constantly reaching for the phone, which is exactly the kind of daily convenience that tends to matter more over time than flashy launch slogans.

Launch date, availability, and why this matters

OnePlus has confirmed that the Nord Buds 4 Pro will launch on March 19. Pricing has not yet been announced, which is the one missing piece in this early reveal. And frankly, that piece will decide whether this becomes a genuine value hit or just a very interesting spec sheet with excellent timing.

My view is simple. The Nord Buds 4 Pro sound like OnePlus is trying to make affordable earbuds less compromise-heavy and more feature-complete. If the real-world ANC performs well and the price stays sensible, these could become one of the more interesting wireless audio launches this month. In earbuds, as in life, silence is golden. Better bass does not hurt either.

Tecno primarily operates in the midrange smartphone segment, but its ambitious approach towards design is something that sets it apart from its peers. Last year, it became the only tech outfit to release a slim phone (our review here) in the sub-Rs 20,000 price bracket. In addition to that, its debut ‘Pova Curve’ series impressed us with its clean design, innovative form factor, and balanced spec sheet. Needless to say, when the second smartphone in the series crossed our desks earlier this month, we were pretty excited to check it out. The device builds upon the design language of its predecessor while bringing its own unique flair. Its relatively slim form factor is quite impressive when you consider that it packs a massive 8,000mAh battery under its hood. There are some tradeoffs to be made, though, as the processor has been downgraded to the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 SoC. The Pova Curve 2 builds upon the Starship-inspired design language of its predecessor. It gets a triangular camera module, which Tecno says mimics spacecraft thrusters. The strong build of the device inspires a lot of confidence. The smooth finish on the back panel makes sure that smudges and fingerprints are not a problem. Tecno has tweaked the form factor to make the device more curvy. The horizontal edges of the frame, along with its corners, are more rounded than before. This decision has paid off, as the in-hand feel of this smartphone easily surpasses its peers. Tecno Pova Curve 2 5G Review: Design and Display The curved frame houses the volume rocker and the side button on its right edge. The latter has a ridged texture and an orange accent. The SIM tray, primary microphone, USB-C port, and speaker grille are positioned on the bottom edge. Up top lies the noise-cancelling microphone. Tecno Pova Curve 2 5G Review: Design and Display The 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display has a 144Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 4,500 nits while playing HDR content. The display is surrounded by slim, uniform bezels on all sides. It can maintain legibility in outdoor conditions with harsh sunlight falling on it. The touch response on offer is smooth and enjoyable. However, only a handful of apps (like Messages, Phone, and Settings) can make use of the 144Hz refresh rate. The under-display optical fingerprint scanner does what is expected of it, but it is nowhere near as snappy as its ultrasonic counterparts. display During the review period, we used the Tecno Pova Curve 2 to stream content across OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and JioHotstar. The 1.5K AMOLED display did a great job of producing detailed visuals packed with accurate colours. The lone, bottom-firing speaker is a step back from the Pova Curve of last year, but it produces a well-rounded audio output.

The Tecno Pova Curve 2 draws power from the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 SoC. For a smartphone priced at Rs 28,000, this 6nm chipset is pretty mediocre. Not to mention, the Pova Curve from last year used a much more versatile processor in Dimensity 7300 Ultimate. The smartphone is equipped with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and comes in 2 storage (UFS 2.2) options:

It expertly handles routine tasks like calling, instant messaging, web browsing, navigation, and media streaming. Its G1 and SE1 chipsets for cellular signal and WiFi enhancement deserve a special shoutout. The smartphone maintained good call quality even in areas with poor network coverage. apps Throwing some heavy tasks at the device reveals the cracks in its performance. For starters, the apps take slightly longer to load due to the dated UFS 2.2 configuration of the internal storage. The LPDDR5X RAM does a good job of handling the background apps.
