iQOO Z10R Review: Design and Display

The curved plastic frame houses the volume rocker and the side button on its right edge. At the bottom lies the SIM tray, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and primary speaker. The top edge houses the secondary speaker and the noise-cancelling microphone. The corners of this frame are rounded to avoid digging into the user’s palms.
The 6.77-inch AMOLED display is surrounded by thin and even bezels. Like the back panel, the display also curves ever so gently into the frame. This panel has a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. It does not struggle to maintain legibility under direct sunlight. The touch response is immaculate, and the optical fingerprint scanner is quite snappy.
The viewing experience on offer here is top-notch. The AMOLED panel produces vibrant colours, with remarkable deep blacks. Being a 1,080 x 2,392p display, it is able to relay HD content with amazing details. The ‘Screen Colors’ option in device settings lets you adjust the warmth of the display to suit your liking. The stereo speaker setup produces a well-rounded audio output.
The Z10R flaunts an IP68/69 rating for protection against exposure to dust and water. It is immersible up to 1.5m in water for 30 minutes. The smartphone is also compliant with MIL-STD-810H durability standards. Safe to say, it can take a knock without getting damaged.
iQOO Z10R Review: Performance and Cameras
The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC lies at the heart of this device. It comes in 3 RAM and storage options:- 8GB + 128GB: Rs 19,499

The Z10R smashes routine tasks with absolute ease. While daily driving the device, we used it for tasks like calling, instant messaging, emailing, media streaming, and web browsing. The smartphone did not break a sweat the entire time. Juggling different apps was a piece of cake, too. Apps did not take much time to load, and once they were minimised, the software did a great job of optimising them in the background. In terms of reliability, you won’t find many better phones than this one.
iQOO’s smartphones are known for going the extra mile when it comes to gaming. The Z10R is no different. You can play BGMI on this phone at 90fps. For a more consistent gameplay, we recommend sticking to a 60fps frame rate. With medium graphics and a 60fps frame rate, we did not come across a single frame drop. The smartphone did a great job of maintaining consistency without getting too warm. If you like gaming for multiple hours on end, you will like the ‘Game Eye Protection Mode,’ which reduces blue light emission based on the content of the game. You also get features like 4D game vibration, customised sound effects, and an AI voice changer.
Software duties on this device are handled by the Android 15-based Funtouch 15 OS. iQOO has promised 2 major OS upgrades and 3 years of security patches for this device. This isn’t the outright best software support in the segment, but it is passable. Our biggest criticism of the OS is that it ships with a lot of bloatware apps. Thankfully, all of these apps can be removed from the device.
Our favourite aspect of using Funtouch 15 OS is the wide range of customisation options. You can give your phone a personalised look by changing the touchscreen animation, screen transition animations, fingerprint icon, charging animation, USB insertion animation, and a whole bunch of other aesthetic elements. There is a good range of AOD faces, wallpapers, and themes on this phone. While there isn’t a state-of-the-art AI package present here, the Z10R does get essential AI tools like Circle to Search, AI Transcript Assist, AI Note Assist, AI Erase 2.0, and AI Photo Enhance.
The Z10R is just 7.4mm thick, but it manages to fit a 5,700mAh Li-Ion battery under this hood. This unit lasts an entire day on a full charge with ease. On days with heavy usage, we were left with 20-25% charge in the tank. If you’re more conservative with your usage, you can push the battery life to 1.5-2 days. The 44W charger provided in the box takes 75 minutes to fully charge the phone.
The iQOO Z10R doesn’t have the most flashy camera system, but it gets the basics right. The rear camera panel houses a 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. A 32MP front-facing camera is housed inside the punch-hole cutout on the display.
The 50MP primary shooter puts up an excellent performance in outdoor daylight conditions. The images taken with this camera showcase vibrant colours while packing all the essential details. We were impressed by the sharpness of these images. The contrast and dynamic range were on point as well. In limited lighting conditions, the camera did a decent job of illuminating the scene and limiting the noise.
Verdict
The iQOO Z10R is one of the most complete and balanced phones you can buy under Rs 20,000. Whether you’re a gamer or a vlogger, this device has something for everyone. The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC puts up a rock-solid and versatile performance. You can rely upon it for everyday use. The processor can also keep up with intense gaming titles and deliver stutter-free gameplay. The main camera takes good pictures in a wide range of lighting conditions. This performance makes up for the lack of an ultrawide sensor.Pros
