Which network provider in India has the cheapest data plans?

0
Ever since Reliance Jio disrupted the mobile data market, unlimited data plans have garnered a lot of popularity. Every major network provider in India offers a daily data plan to meet the rising internet demands of the consumer. On top of that, certain operators offer attractive OTT subscriptions as add-ons to their data plans. Let’s take a look at the cheapest data plans across all network providers in India. Read Also: How to clear the cache of all apps at once

Which mobile operator has the cheapest data plans?

internet BSNL, being a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), offers the most economical data and mobile internet plans out of all the major network providers in India. Its data packs undercut the prices of corresponding plans offered by Jio, Airtel, and Vi, by a wide margin. However, there is a catch to the attractive prices. BSNL does not offer its services in every region in the country. Most famously, it is absent from Delhi altogether. BSNL users travelling to Delhi rely on Vi’s network infrastructure for roaming services. Out of the three major network providers (Jio, Airtel, and Vi), the prices offered by Jio and Airtel are pretty evenly matched. Vi slightly undercuts the two biggest mobile network operators, but it trails behind in add-ons. If you’re interested in getting the most out of your data package, we recommend going through the additional benefits that it offers. Most network providers have dedicated OTT packages which offer Netflix, Prime Video, or JioHotstar subscriptions on top of daily mobile data.

How to clear the cache of all apps at once

0
The cached memory on your phone is the hub for frequently used files and data that need to be easily accessible to apps. The instant access to these files makes apps run faster. Instead of requesting the server, the apps can reach into the cache and use the necessary files. As you can guess, the cached memory builds up over time. If you want to free up some much-needed space on your phone, here’s how you can clear the cache of all apps at once. Read Also: Top 10 smartphones under Rs 15,000 (May 2025)

Infinix Note 50s Review: This budget smartphone can do it all!

At first glance, it is easy to mistake Infinix’s new budget offering for an upper-midrange smartphone. Its sleek profile, smooth back panel, and curved AMOLED display exude a feel that is not commonly found in the sub-Rs 20,000 price segment. This makes its Rs 16,000 price tag very impressive. Last month, we reviewed its younger sibling, Infinix Note 50x, and found it to be a complete package under Rs 15,000. Now, we turn our attention to the Note 50s. Here is our in-depth review of the Infinix Note 50s after using it for a week. Read Also: ASUS ExpertBook P Series powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI PRO 7 processors, announced

Infinix Note 50s Review: Design and Display

Here’s what you get inside the Infinix Note 50s’ retail box:
  • Smartphone
  • 45W power adapter
  • USB Type-A to Type-C cable
  • Opaque silicone cover
  • SIM ejector
  • User manual
  • Warranty card
  • Information booklet
The Infinix Note 50s comes in 3 back panel variants – Marine Drift Blue (Vegan leather finish), Burgundy Red (Metallic finish), and Titanium Grey (Metallic finish). The vegan leather variant uses scent microencapsulation technology to release a fragrance. This fragrance lasts up to 6 months, according to Infinix. For this review, we used the Titanium Grey unit. Infinix Note 50s Review: Design and Display The Note 50s’ build quality and finish are vastly superior to any other smartphone in its category. While the back panel is made out of plastic, its metallic finish and matte texture lend it an amazing in-hand feel. It smoothly curves into the frame, providing a nice grip. The camera panel looks identical to the one on the Infinix Note 50x. design The curved plastic frame houses the volume rocker keys and the side button on its right edge. The flat bottom edge houses the SIM tray, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and primary speaker grille. Up top lie the secondary speaker and noise-cancelling microphone. There is an IR blaster on this phone, but it is positioned in the camera panel. The SIM tray, much to our disappointment, does not incorporate a slot for a microSD card. Infinix Note 50s Review: Design and Display Moving on, the 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display has a stellar 144Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. The catch is that the 144Hz refresh rate is limited to the Settings, Phone, and Messages apps only. Even the regular interface works at a maximum frame rate of 120fps. Having said that, the touch response of the display is very smooth, and the browsing experience is very satisfying. The smartphone does a good job of reducing accidental touches along the curved edges of the display. There is a dedicated ‘Edge Mistouch Prevention’ feature that lets you decide the size of the area where you want to prevent accidental touches. display The curved AMOLED display rises to the occasion while streaming movies and TV shows across OTT apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and JioHotstar. While the curved edges do reflect some surrounding light, it does not affect the viewing angles in a major way. The deep, rich, and punchy visuals produced by the display lead to a very pleasant experience. The Infinix Note 50s also boasts a dual speaker setup tuned by JBL, but the audio output does not reach an acceptable level of loudness. design When it comes to protection against dust particles and water splashes, the Infinix Note 50s is rated IP64. The smartphone is compliant with MIL-STD-810H standards, too. While we didn’t perform a drop test, the smartphone can easily absorb a fall from the pocket to table top.

Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras

The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate SoC lies at the heart of the Infinix Note 50s. The smartphone packs 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and is available in 2 storage variants:
  • 128GB: Rs 15,999
  • 256GB: Rs 17,999
geekbench On the Geekbench 6 app, the Note 50s scored 950 points in the single-core test and 2,853 points in the multi-core test. These numbers translate nicely into everyday use, as the smartphone does a great job of handling routine tasks like video calling, instant messaging, emailing, web browsing, media streaming, and navigation. Apps take minimal time to load, and multitasking is a breeze. apps With the graphics set to the lowest setting, the Note 50s is able to run games like Call of Duty Mobile and Asphalt Legends Unite at 120fps. The gameplay is smooth and lag-free. However, when the graphics are shifted to the maximum settings, some lag and jitters creep into the gameplay. For a budget smartphone, the Note 50s does a good job of managing the thermals while gaming. The back panel warmed up slightly after 20 minutes of consistent gaming. Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras The Infinix Note 50s runs the Android 15-based XOS 15 out of the box. There are a lot of bloatware apps on the device. We recommend taking some time while setting up the device and getting rid of the apps you don’t need. Infinix has promised 2 major OS upgrades for this smartphone, which is on par with the competition in this price bracket.
dynamic bar
Dynamic Bar
XOS 15 takes design inspiration from Apple’s iOS and Xiaomi’s HyperOS. The clever animation around the punch-hole cutout on the display gives it the appearance of the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. Infinix calls its variation the ‘Dynamic Bar’. This pill-shaped bar displays alerts and notifications for calls, recorder, charging, stopwatch, and more. If you’re using Google Maps for navigation, the Dynamic Bar displays turn notifications when the app is minimised.
Folax Assistant
Folax Assistant
AI features are slowly trickling down to budget phones, but we’re yet to see a major manufacturer equip its affordable offerings with state-of-the-art intelligent features. Infinix has taken a step in the right direction by integrating its full AI suite on the Note 50s. Its in-house Folax Assistant does a great job of answering queries while at the same time carrying out basic tasks like launching apps, calling contacts, starting a timer, and more. It is surprisingly good at speech input but takes slightly longer than its counterparts to process the request.
folax
Folax app
The AI eraser tool in the native photo editor does a good job of removing small objects from images. It takes a fair bit of time to do this, but it is nice to see a budget smartphone offer this feature. The native voice recorder can transcribe and summarise voice notes with ease. You can feed text documents to Folax and have it extract key information from them. If you’re composing an email, the Writing Assistant can help you word it better. There are a couple of real-time call translation tools onboard as well, but they need to be further tuned and worked upon before they can function as intended. Despite having a sleek form factor, the Note 50s manages to pack a 5,500mAh battery. On a full charge, the smartphone can easily last a day of regular use. During the review period, our daily tasks on the Infinix Note 50s consisted of video calling, emailing, social media browsing, media streaming, photography, and gaming. We got good mileage out of the battery, ending each day with ~20% charge left in the tank. The smartphone supports 45W wired charging and takes over an hour to reach a 100% charge. Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras The rear camera panel of the Note 50s houses a 64MP primary shooter, a 2MP depth sensor, an IR blaster, an LED flash, and a Halo light. The Halo light activates while shooting videos, triggering the voice assistant, charging the device, launching a game, and other activities. Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras Infinix Note 50s Review: Performance and Cameras The 64MP primary shooter takes good pictures in outdoor daylight conditions. The images showcase vibrant colours and good dynamic range. What we like about this smartphone is that it does not overprocess the images to make them more ‘social media ready’. The final results are natural-looking, and the camera does justice to the scene. In limited lighting conditions, the ‘Super Night’ mode in the native camera app does a good job of eliminating the noise and brightening the subject without overexposing it.

Portrait Shots: 1x v 2x
Portrait shots taken with the Note 50s are focused and vibrant. The portraits have a great background effect, but the smartphone sometimes struggles with edge detection. There are 2 zoom levels onboard: 1x and 2x. The front-facing 13MP camera takes clear selfies while applying subtle tone and texture correction effects. The front and rear cameras can record 4K videos at 30fps. Read Also: COMPUTEX 2025: Acer unveils new Nitro and Predator series monitors

Verdict

The Infinix Note 50s ticks a lot of boxes for us. Its sleek form factor and durable build quality alone put it in the upper echelon of budget smartphones. The smooth AMOLED display coupled with a well-optimised software makes the smartphone ideal for everyday use. The expansive AI suite is the cherry on top. As far as cameras go, the Note 50s may lack an ultrawide sensor, but its primary shooter delivers whenever it is called upon, irrespective of the lighting condition. At Rs 15,999, the Note 50s is a very easy recommendation from us.

  • Metallic finish
  • Curved display
  • Good gaming performance
  • Good main camera

CMF Buds 2 Plus Review: Gets the job done in style

CMF launched its new series of affordable wireless earbuds alongside the Phone 2 Pro (our review here) last month. The Buds 2 TWS series consists of 3 offerings – Buds 2a, Buds 2, and Buds 2 Plus. The top-spec Plus variant fetches Rs 3,299. Its aggressive pricing places it below last year’s Buds Pro 2 in CMF’s catalogue. Whether there will be a Buds Pro 3 model this year, we’re not sure yet. In the meantime, we used the Plus variant of the Buds 2 TWS for a week and put it through a series of tests. Here is our in-depth review of the CMF Buds 2 Plus. CMF Buds 2 Plus Review: Design

Here is what you get inside the CMF Buds 2 Plus’ retail box:
  • Charging case with earbuds inside
  • Extra eartips (S and L sizes)
  • Safety information booklet
The design of the Buds 2 Plus (and the other two variants in the series) remains unchanged from the outgoing model. The compact charging case retains its square shape and rounded edges. The matte finish on the plastic body lends the case a nice in-hand feel. The round dial on the upper right corner has a couple of holes to attach a lanyard. The CMF logo on the lid has been replaced by the ‘CMF by Nothing’ branding. Right under the lid lies a small LED notification light. The right edge houses the USB Type-C port. CMF Buds 2 Plus Review: Design Despite its plastic build and budget pricetag, the CMF Buds 2 Plus does not feel like a cheap product. The quality of the material used on this device is very good. The charging case does not flex upon pressing, and its hinge feels pretty robust. We kept it in pockets with keys and loose change throughout the review period and were pleased to see that it did not garner any scratches. The Buds 2 Plus can withstand rough use. design The earbuds have the standard in-ear design. There are 2 extra eartips (Small and Large) in the box to cover all ear sizes. The stem has a matte finish while the inner panel is glossy. There is a small glossy circle on the upper end of the stem to mark the touch-sensitive area. The touch controls are tuned nicely, and accidental touches are very rare. The earbuds require a couple of twists to fit perfectly, but they do not require any further adjustment once they are secured. You can wear them for multiple hours without feeling any ear fatigue. CMF Buds 2 Plus Review: Design The earbuds are rated IP55 for dust and water resistance. We wore them while working out and were pleased to see they remained unfazed by excessive sweat. However, once things got sweaty, we had to stop working out on a couple of occasions to secure the fit. A matte finish on the inner panel would have resolved this issue.

CMF Buds 2 Plus Review: Performance

The CMF Buds 3 Plus channels its audio output through custom 12mm LCP drivers. There are 3 audio codecs on offer – AAC, SBC, and LDAC. The earbuds support Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for quick and seamless pairing. With Bluetooth 5.4 onboard, the TWS has a 10m functional range. The clear and open soundstage of the CMF Buds 2 Plus is its biggest asset. The low, mid, and high frequencies get a lot of room to breathe in the soundstage and express themselves distinctly. This results in a lot of clarity, where you can listen to the mix in great detail. Even the fine hits of the clapper are relayed with brilliant clarity. performance
The soundstage isn’t balanced by any means – CMF has curated a signature sound for itself in its short time in the market. However, it is impressive how its soundstage gets better with every product. The Buds 2 Plus have a very enjoyable ‘pop’ to them. The bass is slightly boosted, but it does not overpower the mix. The intensity of the mids and highs brings the mix to life. We listened to artists across genres like classic rock, heavy metal, grunge, and pop, and were very impressed with the versatility of these earbuds. Typically, a good soundstage means that you have to compromise on some high-end features, but we’re glad to report that’s not the case here. The ANC chops of the CMF Buds 2 Plus are remarkable. These earbuds can cancel up to 50dB of surrounding sounds across a 5,400Hz frequency range. We put its ANC to the test while travelling on busy roads and were pleased to see how effortlessly it muted the sound of the traffic. While the loud honks managed to pass the filter, most of the annoying mechanical sounds were nullified with ease. In airplanes, the noise of the engine was about 80% nullified, which is very impressive for a TWS in this price bracket. performance The call quality offered by the CMF Buds 2 Plus is satisfactory. While there’s still room for improvement, this price segment doesn’t necessarily spawn high-end TWS products with a spectacular calling experience. The Buds 2 Plus does a good job of extracting the speaker’s voice from the background noise and relaying it to the listener. The speaker’s voice sounds a little boxy, but it is passable for quick calls. Premium features like in-ear detection, dual connection, spatial audio, low lag mode, earbuds finder, and customisable equaliser add a lot of value to the already affordable price tag of the Buds 2 Plus. The low lag mode drops the latency down to 105ms, which is suitable for average mobile gaming, but not close to the ideal 60/50ms mark. The spatial audio feature adds a new layer of immersiveness while gaming and watching movies. These features can be accessed from the Nothing X app. It remains one of the best TWS companion apps around. nothing x app Each earbud is equipped with a 53mAh battery pack while the charging case packs another 460mAh unit. With ANC turned off, the earbuds can last up to 14 hours on a full charge, with an additional 61.5 hours in the case. With ANC/transparency turned on, the battery life of the earbuds drops to 7.5 hours and the case to 33 hours. With a USB Type-C cable, the TWS takes 1.5 hours to charge. Verdict

The CMF Buds 2 Plus handles the essentials with the utmost expertise. It flaunts one of the best soundstages in its price bracket, punching way above its weight. The Active Noise Cancellation on offer here is versatile and well-tuned. You can put these earbuds on when you’re outside and not worry about the annoying traffic noises. Features like dual connection, in-ear detection, and spatial audio are the icing on the cake. At Rs 3,299, the CMF Buds 2 Plus is a very easy recommendation from us.

  • Great build
  • Excellent soundstage
  • In-ear detection
