We tried running 6-7 different apps on the device, and were pleased to see that it did not result in a performance dip.The gaming performance offered by this smartphone is on par with other devices in this price bracket. We played titles like Call of Duty Mobile and Garena Free Fire Max at medium graphics and a 60fps frame rate. The gameplay was enjoyable and mostly stutter-free. There is a fair bit of bloatware on the phone, which is something to be expected from every device in this price bracket. Thankfully, the bloatware apps can be completely uninstalled from the device. What we like about ColoOS 15 is that it offers custom dialer and messaging apps even on budget devices. You also get plenty of customisation options for the lock screen, home page, app icons, wallpapers, and other elements. There are a handful of useful AI features on this smartphone. These include Gemini AI, AI Eraser, AI Clarity Enhancer, and AI Smart Image Mapping. However, Circle to Search is curiously absent. Oppo has promised 2 major OS upgrades and 3 years of security patches for the K13x.One of the big upgrades on the Oppo K13x is its massive 6,000mAh battery pack. Even when we stepped on the gas and used the smartphone with all cylinders blasting, we could not deplete its battery pack within a day. After a screen time of 6 hours, we were left with a 15% charge in the tank. If you’re conservative with your usage, you can push this phone’s battery life to 2 days. The battery supports 45W wired charging, but a large capacity means that it takes a long time to charge it fully. Using the adapter provided in the box, it took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to charge the phone from 0 to 100%.Oppo K13x’s rear camera array comprises a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The 8MP front-facing camera is placed in a punch-hole cutout on the display. The 50MP main camera takes good pictures in outdoor daylight conditions. We were happy with the exposure level we got in the images taken at different stages of the day. The images are a tad soft, which is something to be expected from a budget device, but they showcase vibrant colours. In limited lighting conditions, the Night Mode lights up the shot pretty well, but the images are undeniably grainy.Portrait Shots: 1x v 2xThe portrait shots taken by the Oppo K13x are clear and well-focused. The smartphone does a good job of recognising the subject and separating it from the background. While there are a few blurred edges, they are easy to ignore. The background blur applied by the device in the portraits is quite decent, too. The front-facing 8MP camera takes decent selfies in natural and artificial lighting. We were happy with the clarity and natural colours. The skin tone and texture correction effects are kept to a minimum. This camera can record 1,080p footage at 30fps. Even though no upgrades have been made to the smartphone’s processor, it maintains a rock-solid performance, especially when it comes to routine tasks. If you’re not into high fps gaming or video editing, you will not find yourself wanting more power while using this device. The 6,000mAh battery pack ensures that your battery anxiety is kept at bay. We also like that this smartphone offers old-school features like expandable storage and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
