How To Mute Or Unmute WhatsApp Desktop App?

Follow these easy steps to mute WhatsApp notifications on your desktop.

WhatsApp offers its services across various platforms, including Windows. You can easily link your account to the desktop app or WhatsApp Web by scanning the QR presented on your PC screen. While you may know how to mute WhatsApp notifications on your smartphone, doing the same on the desktop app or WhatsApp can be tricky. In this article, we show you how to mute WhatsApp desktop app notifications.

Here’s how you can mute WhatsApp desktop app notifications 

Step 1: Click on the three dots at the top of your chat window.

Step 4: Click on ‘Mute all notifications’ if you do not want to receive any notifications. If you want to receive selected notifications, select them from the list given below.

Step 5: Select the length of time you want to mute the notifications, then click ‘mute notifications’.

Bonus tip: How to mute an individual chat on WhatsApp Desktop App

Step 1: Move the cursor to the chat you want to mute and click on the downward arrow () at the bottom of the chat.

Step 2: Click on ‘Mute Notifications’.

Step 3: Select the duration for the chat to remain muted.

Step 4: Click on ‘Mute Notifications’.

To unmute the WhatsApp desktop app simply go to Settings>Notifications and untick the ‘Mute all notifications’ box. If you mute a chat on your phone, it will get muted on your desktop and vice-versa.
