Apple has officially announced its latest MacBook Air (2025) in India and globally. The new laptop will be available in two sizes powered by a 10-core M4 chipset. It also features a 12-megapixel camera, runs on MacOS Sequoia, and supports Apple Intelligence. The device is claimed to deliver up to 18 hours of battery life.
Apple’s New MacBook Air (2025) is now available in Midnight, Silver, Sky Blue, and Starlight colours, starting at $999, $100 less than before. The machine is currently available to pre-order in 13- and 15-inch sizes.
In India, the New MacBook Air price begins at Rs 99,900 for the 16GB RAM with 256GB storage. The 15-inch model starts at Rs 1,24,900 for the 16GB RAM with 256GB storage.
The device is currently up for pre-order in the country. It is scheduled to go on sale in India and everywhere on March 12.

In terms of specifications, the New MacBook Air (2025) is available in 13-inch and 15-inch Super Retina display with a resolution of 2,560×1,664 pixels and 2,880×1,864 pixels, respectively. The displays have up to 500 nits of brightness, support for 1 billion colors and a pixel density of 224ppi. The MacBook Air now supports up to two 6K external displays.
Apple’s MacBook Air (2025) features an M4 processor, a 10-core CPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, an 8-core GPU, 32GB of unified memory, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing capabilities, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. It also improves performance in routine and difficult tasks such as photo and video editing.
The 13-inch MacBook Air features a 53.8Wh lithium-polymer battery with 70W fast charging and includes a 30W USB Type-C power converter, whilst the 15-inch model has a larger 66.5Wh battery. The new MacBook Air has an 18-hour battery life, with Intel-based upgrades providing up to six more hours. The strong Neural Engine in the M4 chip speeds AI-based tasks up to three times faster than the M1 model.
MacOS Sequoia improves the new MacBook Air experience with features such as iPhone Mirroring, Safari, Highlights, Reader, Video Viewer, Distraction Control, and Personalised Spatial Audio. Personalised Spatial Audio and Game Mode upgrades make gaming more immersive.
The MacBook Air, powered by Apple Intelligence, includes new features, including Image Playground, Genmoji, and Writing Tools for visual expression and dynamic writing. Siri enhances task acceleration and can provide information about Mac capabilities and settings. ChatGPT is linked with Writing Tools and Siri, allowing users to leverage its skills to complete tasks more quickly and easily. ChatGPT is free and privacy-protected, and users have discretion over how they use it and share information. Users can decide whether or not to enable integration and have control over when and how it is used.

The new 12MP center-stage camera on the MacBook Air improves video quality and keeps users centred in the frame, making it perfect for FaceTime calls or meetings. It also supports Desk View, which displays both the user and their workstation at the same time, making video chats more engaging for DIY projects or work prototypes.
Touch ID improves MacBook Air security by enabling simple unlocking, online purchases with Apple Pay, and app downloads. The Magic Keyboard is backlit and full-height, providing comfort and quiet operation.
The MacBook Air with M4 features fast Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt ports for external storage and security keys, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It has a three-mic array to improve voice clarity and an immersive sound system with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos to create a three-dimensional soundstage for music and movies.
