Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6 specifications
The EOS R5 features an LCD panel while EOS R6 has a Mode Dial. It has the popular Multi-controller and Quick Control Dial, which were available on the EOS 5D series allowing quick selection of AF points and settings. These cameras have Vari-angle LCD and a full touch screen for AF and menu selections.
The Canon EOS R6 comes with the latest 45 megapixels full-frame CMOS sensor best suitable for the professionals from fashion, advertising, commercial, and wedding photography. The R6 features 20.1 megapixels full-frame CMOS sensor. Both the cameras are powered by the company’s own DIGIC X image processor that we have already seen on the flagship EOS-1DX Mark III DSLR. This allows the devices to achieve a continuous shooting speed of up to 20fps at full resolution using the electronic shutter and with full AF and AE tracking. With the mechanical shutter, 12fps can be easily achieved therefore making both cameras the fastest full-frame mirrorless cameras in the market. Also, the DIGIC X imaging processor is good at noise handling and the EOS R5 native ISO can go up to ISO 51200, with the option to expand to ISO 102400. Moreover, the processor can also enable Dual Pixel CMOS AF II.

According to the company, the AF coverage area has been expanded to cover the entire sensor (100% x 100%) so the device is able to focus on any part of the frame. The number of AF points for both cameras during automatic selection has been increased to 1 053. You get a 940 manual AF position on the EOS R5 while the EOS R6 has 6072. Both the Canon Cameras come with an ability to enable AF Priority mode for both people and animals. It can recognize not just the body, but the head and eyes of the subjects as well.
EOS R5 and EOS R6 are integrated with In-Body Image Stabilization function along with Optical Image stabilization effective up to 8-stops shutter speed. The Canon mirrorless cameras will have the support of EF & RF series lenses with IS or Non-IS category to deliver stable results. This feature improves the capability to handle a wider range of shooting conditions.
On the EOS R5, the company has provided two card slots to put up one CFexpress card and one SD memory card.
DIGIC X, coupled with the ultra-fast CF express media allows Canon EOS R5 to record 8K movies at 30fps. You also get an option to record 8K RAW movies internally without any external accessories. EOS R5 is also capable of recording up to 120fps in 4K as well. Whereas the Canon EOS R6 is capable of recording 4K videos at up to 60fps, and slow-motion at 120fps in Full HD.
The R5 is supported by both 5GHz and 2.4GHz wireless LAN without any additional accessory for better connectivity along with FTP and FTPS support so transferring images to a smart device, PC or FTP server will be easier. For faster transfer speed or SFTP with secured LAN, the optional WFT-R10 is available along with 2×2 MIMO and wired LAN for faster and more stable connections. While R6 has 2.4GHz band support along with FTP and FTPS. Both the cameras also support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
