Table of Contents
Family Bell
Family Bell keeps you and your family on schedule, no matter where you are. Whether you use Family Bell on your Android phone, home speaker, or smart display, bells and notifications will remind you and your family when it’s time to leave the house in the morning, pick up your kids from sports practice, or go to bed on time. Family members will be able to set alarms on their own devices to help them stay on track with their own objectives.
New Widgets
The new update will bring three new widgets to Google Photos, Google Play Books and YouTube Music. Now one can easily access their full library of books and even keep track of your audiobook progress with the new Google Play Books widget. Whereas one can easily enjoy their favourite tracks with the new YouTube Music widget — it puts playback controls and recently played tracks right on your Home screen. Your family will appear on your Home screen thanks to the new Google Photos People & Pets widget. Simply choose a few faces and a suitable frame, and the widget will take care of the rest, adorning your Home screen with your loved ones.
Festive Memories
Google has also released new Memories in Google Photos to help you reflect on the special moments in your life. These Memories appear in your photo grid and include a curated selection of photos and videos from special occasions such as New Year’s Eve or Halloween, as well as significant life events such as birthdays and graduations. One can also rename, personalise, correct, or even delete these Memories from your photo grid using specific controls.
Android Auto
To stay connected on every drive, you can now set Android Auto to launch automatically when you connect your Android phone to a compatible car. And once you’re on the road, Android Auto assists you in getting things done so you can concentrate on driving. One can also easily respond to a text message more than the Google Assistant on Android Auto, thanks to smart reply options coming soon — simply tap to respond or create a custom message.
On Android Auto, you’ll soon be able to use your voice to search for music faster in your media apps. Just tap the new search icon and say your favourite artist or song for easy listening.
Users will also be able to use their Android device to lock, unlock and even start your compatible car. Digital car key is now available in select countries on Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S21 for compatible BMW cars.
App permission
Permissions auto-reset on Android turns off runtime permissions—which allow apps to access data or perform actions on your behalf—for downloaded apps that haven’t been used in a while. The permissions can also be turned on anytime by reopening the app or going to the settings menu. Starting next month, this feature will be available on billions more Google Play-enabled devices running Android 6.0 or higher.
Emoji Kitchen
Last but not least, Emoji Kitchen will allow the users to make stickers out of emojis to give to their friends, family, and loved ones. Gboard Beta users will begin receiving the new stickers today, and all Gboard users will receive them in the coming weeks.
