A bunch of fresh security features have been added to WhatsApp to make it more secure. The new features apparently improve user security on the app. According to the company these features make your chats as private and secure as an in-person conversation. Below are some of the additional security features that will be added to WhatsApp in the coming months.
WhatsApp via its blog post said, “At WhatsApp, we believe that your messages should be as private and secure as an in-person conversation. Protecting your personal messages with default end-to-end encryption is the foundation of that security, and we’ll never stop building new features to give you extra layers of privacy, and more control over your messages.”
A few major security features have already been made available to Android users, but they have not yet been enabled for the iOS version, which is anticipated to launch in the near future.
Account Protect
Account Protect is quite an important tool to be added to WhatsApp. When the user moves their account to a new device WhatsApp always confirms that it’s truly you. But now WhatsApp will prompt you on your old device to verify that you want to take this step as an extra security check. This feature is really helpful if someone tries to hack or move your account to another device.

Device Verification
One more WhatsApp security feature, Device Verification, ensures that no one instals malware to read your messages. Without your knowledge, mobile malware can access your phone and use WhatsApp to deliver harmful messages.
In order to further safeguard you in the event that your device is compromised, the firm has implemented checks to assist authenticate your account without requiring any action from you. This enables uninterrupted use of WhatsApp.
Automatic Security Codes
Last but not least, the Automatic Security Codes tool is said to ensure you are interacting with the intended recipient. One can check this manually by selecting the encryption tab from a contact’s information.
WhatsApp is also launching a security feature based on a method called “Key Transparency” that will automatically verify that you have a secure connection in order to make this procedure simpler and more accessible to everyone. This means be able to immediately check that your private discussion is encrypted when you click on the encryption tab.
