HMD Global is all set to launch its Nokia 9 PureView smartphone in India today. The smartphone is the first ever to come with a penta-lens camera setup on its rear panel. It was initially launched at the MWC 2019 and now, it is finally making its way to India. Other than this, the company has also been teasing the launch of another smartphone on its Nokia Mobile Global Twitter handle too.

The other upcoming smartphone is expected to come with a waterdrop-style notch and a face unlock feature, according to the teasers. The device is also said to come with a dedicated Google Assistant button, much like the one we saw on Nokia 4.2. Earlier, the company was said to launch the Nokia 6.2 or the India variant of Nokia X71, however, that comes with a hole-punch display and not a notch.

Nokia 9 PureView price in India (expected)

Nokia 9 PureView was launched at the Mobile World Congress 2019. It recently also passed through BIS certification, which indicated that its India launch is imminent. The global price tag of the smartphone is $699, which is approximately Rs 48,700. In India, the price of the smartphone is expected to be similar. The exact price and date of availability will be confirmed by the company in the next few hours.

Nokia 9 PureView specifications

Coming to the specifications of the Nokia 9 PureView smartphone, it features a 5.99-inch Quad-HD+ POLED display that has an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. For imaging duties, the smartphone comes with five cameras on its back panel. The penta-camera setup comes with three 12MP monochrome sensors and two 12MP RGB sensors. So whenever someone clicks an image, all the five cameras come together to click a picture. For selfies and video calls, there is a 20MP front-facing snapper.

Nokia 9 PureView houses a 3,320mAh battery and is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance. It runs Android 9.0 Pie and is a part of Google‘s Android One programme. This basically means that the smartphone will be getting timely Android updates and security patches for two and three years respectively from the date of its launch.
