Oppo A72 made its debut in the market as a mid-range budget smartphone in April this year. Expanding its portfolio, the company has now introduced the 5G variant A72 in China followed by the 4G model. The device is quite different from its 4G variant as there is a MediaTek processor while the 4G variant has a Qualcomm process. Also, Oppo A72 5G comes with a higher refresh rate screen along with a hole-punch design display and triple cameras placed inside a square-shaped camera module.
Oppo A72 5G price and availability
Oppo A72 5G has been launched in China in a single variant of 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage. The price of the device has been set at CNY 1,899 that translates to Rs 20,000. The smartphone comes in three colour options of Neon, Oxygen Violet, and Simple Black. At the moment there is no information on the international availability of the device but the handset has been put on pre-order via the company’s official website.
Oppo A72 5G specifications and features
The Oppo A72 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC that comes with a 5GB modem paired with an 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The 5G smartphone features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution and 90.5 percent screen to body ratio. The display is supported by a 90Hz refresh rate panel rather than standard 60Hz on the non-5G variant. The mobile phone runs on ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10.
In terms of imaging, there is a square-shaped triple rear camera set up on the Oppo A72 5G that includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor, a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel black and white camera. The selfies have been taken care of by the 16-megapixel front-facing camera placed inside a hole punch designed display.
The Oppo 5G phone comes with a 4,040mAh battery supported by an 18W fast charger. In terms of connectivity, there is Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth, GPS among others.
