Oppo Reno and Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition with swing selfie camera launched: Price and specifications

After weeks of wait, the Oppo Reno and the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition have finally been launched in China. The smartphones come with some of the top-of-the-line features which we were teased for weeks before the launch. The Oppo Reno smartphones sport a panoramic AMOLED display with sixth-generation Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. And similar to the teased image, Oppo Reno comes with a side-swing selfie camera module which not only holds the selfie camera but also the earpiece, front soft light, and rear LED flash. On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition comes with a triple rear camera setup with a periscope telephoto lens to enable the 10x zoom. Here’s a look at the pricing details and specifications of the two smartphones:

Oppo Reno, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition price

After launch, the Oppo Reno is priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs 30,900) for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant while the 6GB RAM/256GB storage variant costs Rs 3,299 (approximately Rs 34,000). The top end variant of the device with 8GB RAM/256GB storage model comes with a price tag of CNY 3,599 (approximately Rs 37,100).

The Oppo Reno will go on sale in China April 19 onwards and it comes in multiple colour variants – Extreme Night Black, Fog Sea Green, Mist Powder, and Nebula Purple.

On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition holds a price tag of CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 41,200) for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM/256GB storage model of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition is priced at CNY 4,499 (approximately Rs 46,400) and the top end variant with 8GB RAM/256GB storage costs CNY 4,799 (approximately Rs 49,500).

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition will go on sale from mid-May in China. And unlike the Oppo Reno, it comes in only two-colour options – Extreme Night Black and Fog Sea Green.

At the launch event, a 5G variant of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition was also teased but its development will start from next month. Furthermore, the global availability of the Oppo Reno device has not been revealed by the company but an event is taking place in Zurich, Switzerland on April 24, so it can be expected to launch there.

The Oppo Reno sports a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ panoramic AMOLED display with screen-to-body ratio of 93.1 percent. The display is protected by the sixth-generation Corning Gorilla Glass and it is also TUV Rheinland certified and supports DCI-P3 colour gamut. The Oppo Reno is powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM options. The device runs on Android 9 Pie skinned with ColorOS 6 and houses a 3,765mAh battery that support VOOC 3.0 fast charging. It comes with either 128GB or 256GB of inbuilt storage.

On the camera front, the Oppo Reno comes with dual-rear camera setup which comprises of a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor paired with a 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. There is also the unique swing selfie camera module that holds a 16MP camera sensor along with an f/2.0 lens.

Other features of the Oppo Reno includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Also, the Reno has Hi-Res and Dolby Atmos support. There is also Game Boost 2.0 to enhance the gaming and game engine.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition sports a 6.6-inch panoramic AMOLED display. The device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM options. The Oppo smartphone comes with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and is available in 128GB and 256GB inbuilt storage options. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition packs a 4,065mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 support.

On the camera front, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition comes with a triple-rear camera setup which comprises of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture paired with a 13MP periscope telephoto lens and an 8MP super wide-angle lens. The front facing snapper of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition is the same as the Oppo Reno with 16MP swing selfie camera. According to Oppo, the Reno swing selfie camera module can open up in just 0.8 seconds, and has been tested 200,000 times.

Other features of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
