Poco M2 Pro with Snapdragon 720G SoC launched in India: Price and tech specs revealed

Xiaomi’s spin-off brand, Poco, today launched its second smartphone of 2020 in the market. Poco M2 Pro is now official. Even before the arrival of Poco X2, which launched months back, M2 has been part of the rumour mills. The company has introduced the phone via a pre-recorded online launch event that was live-streamed via the company’s official YouTube channel across its social media platforms. The device is powered by Snapdragon 720G SoC. In addition to this, there is a hole-punch design display and quad rear cameras. Let’s see what else does this smartphone has to offer. 

Poco M2 Pro pricing and availability details

Poco M2 Pro has been launched in India today. The device will be available in two variants of 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage at Rs 13,999, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage at Rs 14,999 whereas the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant price has been set at Rs 16,999.

The device will be available for purchase via e-commerce website Flipkart and is scheduled to go on sale in India on July 14 and at 12 noon onwards. The smartphone is offered in three colour options of Out of the Blue, Green and Greener, and Two Shades of Black.

Poco M2 Pro specifications and features.

Poco M2 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor paired with 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage (as one of the options). The memory can be expanded by up to 512GB using a microSD card. The device runs on MIUI 11 based on top of Android 10. The mobile phone features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio offering 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution, which comes with a layer of triple Corning Gorilla glass 5 for safety.

Also, the company has integrated a 2×2 MIMO WiFi so that the user gets a better connection to the router, which means good gaming with low latency. The smartphone also has Z-shocker vibration haptics food better vibration feedback.

On the camera front, Poco M2 Pro sports a quad rear camera set up that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a secondary 8-megapixel Ultra-Wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel macro lens and as well as a 2-megapixel depth sensor. While on the front there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

Poco M2 Pro boasts a 5,020mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. For connectivity there is 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, a proximity sensor and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
