Realme Q2 series with MediaTek processor and 5G support launched

The Chinese smartphone company Realme has introduced its brand new Q2 series in China. The series is a successor of Realme Q that was launched last year. The up to date line-up includes three new devices Realme Q2, Realme Q2 Pro, and Realme Q2i that are powered by a MediaTek processor for 5G support. Two of the three smartphones have a hole punch design display while the Q2i comes with a waterdrop style notch display. Realme Q2 comes with a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution. The display offers a refresh rate of 120Hz and 90.7 percent screen to body ratio. It runs on Realme UI based on top of Android 10 and will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor with ARM G7 MC3 GPU. The device comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and for storing more content on the phone the storage can be expanded with the help of a microSD card.

In terms of cameras, there is a triple camera set up on the back of the phone which includes a 48-megapixel main sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Further assisted by an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.3 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, it has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.1 aperture.

For connectivity Realme Q2 has a dual-band Wi-Fi, 5G, 4G LTE, GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth 5.0, and a USB Type-C port. The Sensors on the phone includes a geomagnetic sensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyro sensor. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging solution.

Realme Q2 Pro

Realme Q2 Pro specifications

The Realme Q2 Pro is very much similar to the vanilla variant but this one has a slightly smaller 6.4-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display offering 180Hz touch sampling rate and 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. It has the same Chipset but paired with Mali-G57 GPU. The rear and the front camera set up are also the same but the selfie sensor has an f/2.5 aperture. The battery is also smaller with a capacity 4,300mAh battery but with a super-fast 65W charger.

Realme Q2i specifications

This is the toned-down variant which has a 6.5-inch display with 88.7 percent screen to body ratio and 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it has a MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage 

For optics, it comes with a triple rear camera set up that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a macro and a depth sensor. On the front Realme Q2i has an 8-megapixel sensor. The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

Realme Q2 Series price and availability

The Realme Q2 price has been set at CNY 1,299 (Approx Rs 14,200) for base 4GB RAM with 128GB storage while the 6GB RAM option comes with a price tag of CNY 1,399 (Approx Rs 15,200). This variant is available in two colour options blue and silver. The Pro variant will be available in two variants 8GB RAM with 128GB storage at CNY 1,799 (Approx Rs. 19,600) and the 256GB option comes at CNY 1,999 (Approx Rs 21,800). The smartphone will be available in grey and gradient colour option. The Realme Q2i comes in a single 4GB RAM with 128GB storage option priced at CNY 1,199 (Approx Rs 13,000). This comes in blue and silver colour options. Both the standard variant and the Pro one will be available for sale on October 19 while the Q2i will be up for pre-orders from October 21.
