Vivo S1 set to be launched in India soon: Key details

The handset is available in two colour options –Cosmic Green and Skyline Blue

Last week, Vivo launched the global variant of its Vivo S1 smartphone in Indonesia. But prior to that, the company had launched the smartphone in its home market too. Now Vivo is getting the global variant of Vivo S1 to the Indian market too. The key highlights of the smartphone include a Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display, a triple rear camera setup, and a 32MP selfie camera. The Chinese smartphone maker has started posting the teaser videos of the device on its official social media account and this confirms the launch of the latest handset by Vivo in the country.

To promote the Vivo S1 smartphone, the company has signed up popular Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan but as of now, there is no word on when the handset will be launched.  Here are its price details and specifications of Vivo S1:

Vivo S1 price in India (expected)

Vivo S1 has been priced at IDR 3,599,000 (approximately Rs. 17,800) for its single variant that comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The handset is available in two colour options –Cosmic Green and Skyline Blue. The device will be going on sale in Indonesia on July 23. A number of tweets and teasers posted by the company on its social media accounts confirm that the company will soon launch the new version of Vivo S1 in India. The pricing of the smartphone is expected to be similar to its global counterpart.

Vivo S1 specifications, features

The global variant of the Vivo S1 features a 6.38-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) Super AMOLED display that has a waterdrop-style notch. The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTekHelio P65 SoC and runs Funtouch OS 9 based on Android 9 Pie. The device is available in a single variant that has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone boasts of a 4,500mAh battery. The smartphone by Vivo comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and it measures 159.53×75.23×8.13mm and it weighs 179.5 grams.

For imaging duties, Vivo S1 global variant features a triple rear camera setup that houses a 16MP primary sensor with an f/1.78 lens, an 8MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 wide-angle lens, and third a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 lens. On the front, it sports a 32MP front camera along with an f/2.0 lens.

On the connectivity front, the global variant of Vivo S1 includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, USB-OTG, Micro USB, and GPS.  Sensors on the smartphone include an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, a compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor.
