Vivo V20 2021 quietly goes on sale in India: Here is what’s new

Vivo V20 2021 has now been introduced in India as an upgrade to the Vivo V20 which arrived in India in October this year. Before coming to the country the smartphone has already made several leaks as well as rumours. Although it is also rumoured that the company might also refresh the recently launched Vivo V20 Pro. Apart from this Vivo V20 2021 has quietly gone on sale also in the Indian market. However, the smartphone comes with a similar-looking design but has been refreshed with a new chipset and will now be available in more colour options.

Vivo V20 2021 has been introduced in India with a price tag of Rs 24,990 for the single 8GB RAM with 128GB storage option. This device is already up for sale via Amazon and would be offered in Midnight Jazz and Sunset Melody colour variants.

To recall the original model is available through Flipkart and it comes in two distinct configurations of 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage variant priced at Rs 24,990 and Rs 27,990. This handset is available in Midnight Jazz, Moonlight Sonata, and Sunset Melody colour options.

Other than the new chipset the specification of the Vivo V20 2021 remains the same as the original smartphone. This device is now fuelled by a better chipset, it now includes an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card. It still goes with a 6.44-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It runs on Funtouch OS 11, based on Android 11.

On the imaging front, there is a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor with f/1.89 aperture. Further assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. While on the front it comes with a 44-megapixel selfie sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The camera setup supports features such as Super Night Mode, Tripod Night Mode, Motion Autofocus, EyeFaceBody Autofocus, Object Autofocus, and Double Exposure.

Vivo V20 2021 houses a 4,000mAh battery that supports a 33W FlashCharge fast charging solution. For connectivity, it has 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS and a USB Type-C port. In addition to this is an in-display fingerprint sensor on the smartphone for authentication.
