Windows 11 has started rolling out for many users. For tech-savvy enthusiasts, Microsoft has also provided direct downloads on their official website. The new Windows looks neat and promising. But as it is an early software version, the UI is not polished.
There are some noticeable glitches that many users are facing. The trigger for these bugs are unknown but Microsoft is working hard on fixing them. One of the bugs that many users are facing is a frozen screen on Windows 11. Here is how to restart a frozen Windows 11 screen on PC or laptop.
There are many ways to fix this issue but as the OS is a little unstable on some systems there might be a possibility that your pc/computer have malfunctioned. But for most of the cases, these solutions below will surely work.

Method 1 – Press Esc
It is a possibility that there might be some application that got triggered and has created the problem of screen freeze. Press the Esc key twice or thrice and see how the system behaves. Usually Esc key is the default exiting method programmed in many applications, so there is a chance that this trick might work. If not, don’t worry it’s just the start of the solution, we have a few more below, try them.
Method 2 – Task manager

Task manager is what its name says. It manages the tasks and keeps an eye on resources across your device. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del, if you are lucky you will see a list with a task manager on it. Click on the task manager and see if it opens.
If it’s successful you will see a task manager just like in the image above. In the processes tab find any app which is showing ”Not responding”. If it’s spotted Click on the application and press End Task. Give your system some time to recover and you are good to go.
There is also another powerful option, as soon as you press Ctrl+Alt+Del on the right down corner. With which you can either restart or shut down your computer.
Method 4 – Log off
If the above method didn’t work for you, press the power button once on your laptop or computer. This will log you off on the lock screen, try logging in again and check if the problem persists. If yes try to go back on the lock screen with the same method and restart or shut down from the power icon on the right lower corner.
Method 5 – Force restart/shutdown
This is the last step you can do, if none of the methods works you are left with nothing but to force your system to restart or shut down. To do so, press your power key for 3-4 seconds until the system starts to shut down. Be aware that you won’t be able to get back any unsaved data. There is a dedicated restart button on a few of the systems, consider pressing them once or holding them for 2-3 seconds if it doesn’t work.
