Although being one of the most popular messaging apps of the current times, Whatsapp misses out on providing its services for iPad users as of now. Speculations have been going on in the market that the Facebook-owned messaging app will soon launch its official iPad version as well. However, until it knocks on your door, you don’t need to keep waiting for it as there’s a workaround which you can make use of right away. The secret is, drumrolls please, Whatsapp Web! You can use Whatsapp Web to log into your Whatsapp account through the Safari browser on your iPad. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to set up and use Whatsapp on iPad in 2022.

Step 1: Open Safari on your iPad and go to Whatsapp Web (web.whatsapp.com).
Step 2: The website displays a QR code which you need to scan through Whatsapp’s smartphone app.
Step 3: Now, open Whatsapp on your Android or iOS smartphone and tap on the three dots in the top right corner of its interface.
Step 4: Click on the Linked Devices option.
Step 5: Tap on the Link a Device button and pass the biometric check.
Step 6: Scan the QR code displayed on Whatsapp Web on your iPad’s screen through the scanner that appears next in the app’s interface on your smartphone.

That’s it! You will automatically get logged into Whatsapp Web on your iPad, from where you can use Whatsapp just like you use it on your smartphone device. However, if you don’t have access to Whatsapp’s Multi-Device Beta function, do not log out of Whatsapp on your smartphone or go offline. Since Whatsapp Web pulls all your data from the Whatsapp interface of your smartphone, it requires you to stay online from mobile the entire time you are using Whatsapp Web from your iPad’s browser.
The Multi-Device Beta function of Whatsapp lets you use the app through multiple devices simultaneously without needing the primary device to be connected to the internet. However, this feature is not available across all the devices as of now.
In this way, you can set up and use Whatsapp on your iPad. If you know of any other means or ways to access and use Whatsapp on iPad, do share with us in the comments section below.

Important to also state that some features are missing – especially phone calls, video calls and screen sharing which is why there is a desperate need for an iPad app supporting the entire feature set as on the iPhone.
