The new budget smartphone from Xiaomi –Redmi 7 – was launched in India last week alongside the Redmi Y3. Today, the Redmi 7 smartphone will be going on its first sale in India. The sale will begin from 12pm (noon) onwards and interested customers can purchase the device from Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Studio Outlets along with the company’s partner offline retailers.
The Redmi 7 is the official successor of the Redmi 6 and according to Xiaomi, the Redmi 7 is an ‘ultimate all-rounder’. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 632 SoC and features a waterdrop-shaped notch on the display with a gradient back panel. Here’s a look at all the details of Redmi 7’s first sale in India:

Redmi 7 price and launch offers
The Redmi 7 holds a price tag of Rs 7,999 for the 2GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant while the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant of the device costs Rs 8,999. It comes with three colour variants to choose from – Eclipse Black, Comet Blue, and Lunar Red.
As mentioned earlier, the Redmi 7 will go on its first sale today onwards at 12pm (noon). And it will be available on Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home Stores, Mi Studio outlets along with Mi offline partner outlets.
The customers of the Redmi 7 will also get benefits from Reliance Jio including double data benefits for up to four years and Rs 2,400 cashback.
Redmi 7 specifications and features
The Redmi 7 sports a 6.26-inch HD+ screen with an aspect ratio of 19:9 with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 632 SoC paired with 2GB and 3GB of RAM. The Redmi 7 comes with 32GB storage with support of microSD card of up to 512GB. The newly launched smartphone packs a 4,000mAh battery that comes without support for fast charging.
On the camera front, the Redmi 7 features a dual-rear camera setup which comprises of a 12MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 1.25-micron pixels paired with 2MP secondary sensor. On the front, there is an 8MP front facing camera that can be used for selfies and video calls.
The Redmi 7 comes with dual-SIM support, 4G LTE and has a Micro-USB 2.0 port. It also features P2i splash-resistant coating which makes it capable of handling occasional splash. But it should be noted that it is not water resistant so it could still get damaged from prolonged contact with water.
