Suunto 9, Suunto 7, Suunto 5 smartwatches launched in India

All the models come with GPS and over 80 sports modes.

The Finnish company that manufactures sports watches has today announced the launch of a new range of smartwatches in India. The company has introduced its first devices Suunto 9, Suunto 7 and Suunto 5 smartwatches. All the models will be available exclusively via Amazon in the country. The key highlights of the smart wearable include GPS, multi-sport tracking, over 80 sports modes and others.

The Suunto 9 has been launched in India with a starting price tag of Rs 54,999. It will be available in  Black, Charcoal Black, and Granite Blue strap options. The starting price of the Suunto 7 smartwatch is set at Rs 36,999. This will come in Black, Black Lime, Graphite Copper, and Sandstone Rosegold colour options.

whereas the Suunto 5 will be available with a starting price of Rs 29,999 and will be offered in All Black, Burgundy Copper, Graphite Copper, and White colour options. All the smartwatches will be available for purchase via Amazon and the company’s official website

Suunto 9 is the most premium of all the models. The range includes two models a standard and Suunto 9  Baro. There is not much difference the latter one offers a barometer that gives more accurate altitude information using GPS data with barometric altitude information. According to the company based on data from the barometer it provides outdoor information like sea level air pressure and has a storm alarm. However, the former one does provide altitude information which is based on GPS readings.

Both the devices feature a 1.9 inch LED circular-shaped display that also has touch support. It has sapphire glass while the bezels are made of stainless steel. The watch offers four battery modes-  Performance, Endurance, Ultra, and Tour. The device offers 25 hours to 170 hours battery life with Performance mode and GPS enabled. Besides offering a health tracing feature the smartwatch also comes with  24×7 heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, and recovery status. The device offers 80 sports modes, an intelligent battery management system, on-watch navigation, weather insights and more.

Suunto 7 also comes with a 1.9-inch colour touchscreen AMOLED display offering 454×454 pixels of resolution and 1,000 nits of peak brightness. The device runs Google’s WearOS which offers support for Googe Fit, Google Pay, Google Assistant, and Play Store. The sports watch is powered by Snapdragon Wear 3100.

There are more than 70 sports modes including running, skipping, cycling and more. Other features include sleep tracking, body resource measurement, heart rate monitoring and others. The device is claimed to last for 48 hours and offers up to 12 hours of performance in GPS mode.

Suunto 5 smartwatch features a 1.8-inch Analog-Digital display. It has touch support and comes with  218×218 pixels of resolution. There are over 80 sports modes to track exercise such as running, hiking, cycling, and more whereas Adaptive training guidance creates custom 7 day plans to maintain or improve your fitness level. It offers intelligent battery modes and is claimed to offer 40 hours in training mode with GPS mode on, up to 12 days in time mode and 7 days in 24×7 tracking and mobile notifications.
