With WhatsApp being used by over 2 billion people across the globe, the Facebook-owned instant messaging app is being constantly updated to provide the users a simple, reliable and private way to chat with friends and family. WhatsApp has now introduced Animated Stickers, QR codes, Dark Mode for WhatsApp Web and desktops along with other features. Mind you! These features are rolling out to users over the next few weeks, in the latest versions of WhatsApp.
As far as Animated Stickers are concerned, WhatApp revealed that stickers are one of the fastest growing ways people communicate on this instant messaging app. Around billions of stickers are sent every day. We are rolling out new animated sticker packs that are even more fun and expressive.
Now moving on to QR codes, WhatApp is makng it easier than ever to add a new contact. Soon when you meet someone new, you will be able to scan their QR code to add them to your contacts. Therefore, there is no more need to save the number manually by tapping in their digits one at a time.
Thirdly, WhatApp has introduced Dark mode for WhatsApp web and desktop. Dark mode allows you to change the color theme of WhatsApp from white to black. In order to use this incredibly popular Dark Mode theme now on your computer all you need to do is:
- Open WhatsApp
- Then tap More options
- Go to Settings
- Click on Chats
- Select Theme:
- Dark: Turn dark mode on.
- Light: Turn dark mode off
WhatsApp has also improved group video calls. With now up to 8 people on a video call, the instant messaging app has made it easier to focus on whoever you want by letting you press and hold to maximize a participant’s video to full screen. WhatsApp has also added a video icon in group chats of 8 or less, so you can easily start a group video call with 1-tap.
In order to access the new, higher participant limit on WhatsApp calls that is up to 8 people, all participants in a call need to update to the latest version of WhatsApp available on iPhone or Android.
In addition to all these features, WhatsApp features update now enables KaiOS users to enjoy the popular feature that allows them to share updates that disappear after 24 hours.
