The Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) 2021 is expected to take place from June 12, 2021, to June 15, 2021. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the E3 2021 event will be “reimagined, all-virtual”.
What is the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) all about?
The Electronic Entertainment Expo, renowned as E3, is an annual event for the video game industry where game publishers and developers exhibit video game titles that are expected to be released in the coming year. The event witness press conferences and announcements regarding the new video games and game-related merchandise. E3 is a platform for game publishers and developers to create thrill about their games in their fans worldwide.
What are the expectations from the E3 2021?
The E3 2021 is expected to get participation from major video game companies including Xbox, Ubisoft, Warner Bros, Nintendo, Konami, and Capcom. The event will purely take place online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This is the second year consecutively when the E3 will be broadcasted solely on the internet rather than in person. However, due to its all-virtual nature, the E3 2021 is expected to gather more audience than the preceding years.
According to Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), “For more than two decades, E3 has been the premier venue to showcase the best that the video game industry has to offer while uniting the world through games”.
The organisers of the E3 event are ensuring that the COVID-19 guidelines are strictly followed. They have been in touch with the video game companies and sharing details regarding the new format and restrictions. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is optimistic about future E3 events. The organisers hope that the E3 2022 will be conducted in person after the cancellation of the live show for two years in a row.
According to Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), “We are evolving this year’s E3 into a more inclusive event, but will still look to excite the fans with major reveals and insider opportunities that make this event the indispensable centre stage for video games.”
