Samsung rolls out One UI 7 beta update for older Galaxy phones in India

Samsung is bringing the OneUI 7 beta update to older Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S23, Tab S10 and the Flip and Fold series. As of now, the beta version has been launched and will be officially made available in April. The update offers support for several languages as well as anti-theft capabilities. The software upgrade adds intuitive controls, AI-powered personalised mobile experiences, and more to its devices.

Samsung is rolling out Galaxy AI features to additional Galaxy devices via the One UI 7 beta program. According to the firm, the beta program will be accessible for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in India, Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States beginning March 6, with more devices following in the first month, including the Galaxy S23 series, Tab S10 series, and A55.

If you own a Galaxy phone, you can apply to join the beta program via Samsung Members. The official update of One UI 7 will be available in April.

The update’s new notification system, Now Bar, is one of its features. It is claimed to improve customisation by providing easy access to the most frequently used and common tasks on the screen. Now Bar displays relevant activities such as Interpreter, Music, Recording, and Stopwatch, avoiding the need for frequent device unlocks. AI-powered summarization and privacy-focused cross-app personal data protection are also included in the upgrade.

Furthermore, the OneUI 7 also includes advanced writing assist tools that increase productivity by allowing users to select texts without navigating between programs. These features include AI-powered options for summarising content, checking spelling and grammar, and automatically structuring notes as bullet points.

Moreover, the update aims to enhance call capabilities with 20-language support and automatic transcription, enhancing communication along with reducing the need for manual note-taking during multitasking.

Priced at Rs 2,14,900, the M4 Max variant is more expensive than the M3 Ultra, which costs Rs 4,29,900.

Customers can pre-order the new Mac Studio starting today on apple.com/store and in the Apple Store app in 28 countries and regions, including the U.S. It will begin arriving to customers and will be in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers, starting Wednesday, March 12.

Apple’s New MacBook Air (2025) is now available in Midnight, Silver, Sky Blue, and Starlight colours, starting at $999, $100 less than before. The machine is currently available to pre-order in 13- and 15-inch sizes.

In India, the New MacBook Air price begins at Rs 99,900 for the 16GB RAM with 256GB storage. The 15-inch model starts at Rs 1,24,900 for the 16GB RAM with 256GB storage.

You need an active SIM to make a WiFi call. This feature does not work in Airplane Mode. When you make a call using the WiFi network, a phone icon with a WiFi signal pops up on the status bar. The call recipient does not need to be connected to a WiFi network to receive the call.

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is one of the biggest tech meets in the world. It is held annually in Barcelona and is the launching pad for some of the most futuristic tech in the world from the biggest names in the tech industry. This year, the event kicked off on March 3. With most of the major releases out of the way, let’s take a look at the biggest highlights from MWC 2025.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Xiaomi launched its newest flagship smartphone series at MWC 2025. The Ultra variant of the Xiaomi 15 series flaunts an amazing camera array consisting of a stupendous 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP primary shooter, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s flagship chipset for 2025 – Snapdragon 8 Elite. This chipset is also present in gaming powerhouses like iQOO 13 and Redmagic 10 Pro. The display duties on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra are handled by a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,200 nits of peak brightness.

Lenovo Thinkbook Flip AI PC

Lenovo had one of the finest panels at MWC 2025. The computing giant showed off concept models for a solar-powered PC, an AI display with NPU inside, and an AI Stick with a 32 TOPS NPU that allows regular PCs to access AI features and LLMs. However, the Lenovo Thinkbook Flip AI PC was the concept model that truly trapped our attention. Touted as the next step in the evolution of PC form factors, the Thinkbook Flip has a rollable OLED display that can expand from 13 to 18.1 inches. Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro

While we’re still a few months away from a premium Nothing smartphone, the midrange Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro look like exciting prospects in the meantime. Launched at MWC 2025, the two smartphones offer a bang for the buck. The vanilla model looks similar to its 2024 counterpart, featuring a horizontal camera layout and a see-through design. The Pro model adds a 50MP 3x telephoto lens to the revamped camera module. The familiar segmented Glyph pattern surrounds the two camera modules and the plastic back panel has been replaced by a glass unit. Under the hood, the two smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC.

Samsung’s Concept Displays

Samsung was one of the first major OEMs to come out with foldable smartphones. This year, the tech giant is expected to release its first tri-folding phone. While no official announcements have been made yet, we got a taste of Samsung’s tri-fold display tech at MWC 2025. The company showcased its Flex G and Flex S displays. The nomenclature of the two displays hints at their folding mechanisms. The Flex G is a smartphone that unfolds (twice) into a tablet. Meanwhile, the Flex S bends into an S shape with the help of strategically placed hinges. The Korean brand also showed off its foldable handled gaming console concept, which will likely rival the Nintendo Switch and Asus ROG Ally X.

Tecno Spark Slim

2025 is the year of slim smartphones. With Samsung set to release the Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple working on the iPhone 14 Air, other OEMs are also upping their game. At MWC 2025, Tecno showcased the Spark Slim concept, which is the world’s thinnest smartphone as of now. Despite having a thickness of just 5.75mm, the Spark Slim manages to fit a 5,200mAh battery pack. It features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The back panel houses two 50MP camera sensors. The smartphone supports 45W fast charging.

HMD Fusion X1

Designed for teens, HMD Fusion X1 promotes healthy digital habits and offers a wide range of parental features. It is integrated with Xplora, a subscription-based service that sends location alerts to guardians and lets them manage the screen time, contacts, and app downloads on the target device. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. The 6.56-inch LCD panel has a 90Hz refresh rate. HMD Fusion X1’s rear camera module houses a 108MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The 5,000mAh battery pack supports 33W charging.

Tecno AI Glasses

Tecno’s AI Glasses series was one of our favourite highlights of MWC 2025. The AI Glasses bring smartphone-grade imaging to a wearable form factor and are integrated with Tecno’s Ella AI Assistant. The OV50D sensor on these glasses is akin to a smartphone’s primary shooter. It uses the same ISP and advanced imaging algorithms as the Tecno Camon 40 Premier smartphone. The 250mAh battery pack offers over 11 hours of music playback and 8 hours of mixed use after 30 minutes of charging.

Samsung starts Galaxy Book 5 pre-reservations in India: Details

Samsung plans to launch its Galaxy Book 5 series in India, featuring three models: Galaxy Book 5 Pro, Pro 360, and Book 5 360. The laptops will be powered by Intel Core Ultra CPUs and utilise Galaxy AI. Before its arrival, the company opened pre-orders for the next laptops in the country. Here’s all the information.

The pre-reservation window for the Galaxy Book 5 360, Book 5 Pro, and Book 5 Pro 360 is now open in India. The laptops can be booked via the company’s official website and at Samsung India Smart Cafés, select Samsung authorized retail stores and other online portals at no cost with early access benefits worth INR 5000, valid until March 10, 2025.

According to the company, the Galaxy Book 5 Series is likely to revolutionise the Indian market with its powerful performance, long battery life, and premium design. As you already know, the flagship AI PC portfolio will feature the Galaxy Book5 360, Galaxy Book5 Pro, and Galaxy Book5 Pro 360.

The Galaxy Book 5 series will have Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens with up to 3K resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and 120 percent coverage of the DCI:P3 color gamut. Corning Gorilla Glass with DX and an anti-reflective surface will be used for the displays.
