Samsung has released the Galaxy Book 6 series, which includes the Galaxy Book 6, Galaxy Book 6 Pro, and Galaxy Book 6 Ultra. These first appeared at CES 2026. The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra has a 16-inch AMOLED touchscreen and a powerful setup that includes the Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 Evo Edition processor, an Intel NPU, and up to an Nvidia GeForce 5070 GPU.

Samsung has released the Galaxy Book 6 series notebooks, which come in a single grey colour option.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra is priced in the UK at GBP 2,999 for the Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 model. The Galaxy Book 6 Pro models start at GBP 1,499 for the 16-inch version and GBP 1,399 for the 14-inch version. The 14-inch Galaxy Book 6 costs GBP 949, while the 16-inch options run from GBP 1,049 to GBP 1,099 for the touchscreen edition. Additionally, Samsung plans to deliver the Galaxy Book 6 Enterprise Edition in April 2026.

Pre-orders in the UK will begin on February 25, with official sales beginning on March 11.

Journalist Mark Gurman says in his Power On newsletter that these new models fit in with the macOS 26.3 cycle. There are reports that the current MacBook Pro models with M4 Pro and M4 Max CPUs are in short supply in the US. These shortages could mean that a new product is about to be released. Apple is also expected to release several new Macs soon, such as the upgraded MacBook Air and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. Also, this year we should expect new Mac mini models, updated Mac Studio desktops, and a low-cost MacBook model with a display smaller than 13 inches that might have an iPhone-class CPU. These will compete with Windows laptops and Chromebooks.

iPhone 17e Pricing and Specifications (Expected)

Google has launched the first public beta of Android 17, which includes greater performance optimisations, smoother system animations, and optimised notification management. The upgrade includes tighter privacy and permission settings, improved scaling for large-screen devices, and a transition from Developer Preview to a continuous Canary channel for developer-focused updates.

According to the official blog article, Google has released the first beta of Android 17, which focuses on making the system more private, secure, and fast. This version adds better camera and media functionality, tools to improve connectivity, and bigger profiles for partner devices. It also indicates a change in how developers get new updates, switching from the old Developer Preview to the Android Canary programme.

Performance

Android 17 adds a lock-free version of android.os.MessageQueue to enhance efficiency and cut down on missed frames. However, this could cause problems for clients who depend on reflection. It also has generational garbage collection in ART’s Concurrent Mark-Compact collector, which makes memory management more efficient. The runtime now makes “static final” fields truly immutable; thus, trying to change them using reflection will throw an IllegalAccessException. Android 17 improves the media and photography features with professional-grade tools that make transitions smooth and keep the volume level the same. One of the most important changes is the addition of `updateOutputConfigurations()` to `CameraCaptureSession`, which lets you attach and detach output surfaces. This function makes it easy to switch between camera modes without having to reconfigure anything. The update also adds the LOGICAL_MULTI_CAMERA_ADDITIONAL_RESULTS value, which lets you get metadata from all active physical cameras when you use logical camera setups. This makes camera apps use their resources more efficiently.

Versatile Video Coding (VVC) Support

Android 17 adds support for the Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard by defining the video/vvc MIME type in MediaFormat and adding new profiles in MediaCodecInfo. These will be available on devices with hardware that works with them. It also has a new constant quality option for video encoders that can be configured by setVideoEncodingQuality() in MediaRecorder. This makes it easier to regulate the quality of this feature. The audio focus API will return AUDIOFOCUS_REQUEST_FAILED for unauthorised requests.

Privacy and Security

The blog post talks about two important changes to Android development that have to do with privacy and security. First, apps that target Android 17 or higher should not use the android:usesCleartextTraffic attribute. If an app uses this attribute set to “true” but doesn’t have a network security configuration, it will automatically block cleartext communication. Users may now animate their profile photos by converting still images into entertaining animations in seconds. The user can choose from various preset animations, including natural, party hat, confetti, wave, and heart, based on their current mood. New animation options will be added throughout the year to coincide with seasonal events and festivities. For the best results, use a photo of a single person facing the camera, with a clearly visible face and no other objects. Users can choose photographs from their camera roll or upload existing ones from Facebook. Once animated, the profile image can be shared on the user’s feed and displayed on their profile page.

The iPhone 17e is expected to be released this month as Apple’s next affordable model, succeeding the iPhone 16e. It is expected to include a 6.1-inch 60 Hz display and may include MagSafe charging. While Apple’s confirmation is still pending, sources suggest considerable advancements in chipset and networking capabilities; however, the overall appearance is expected to stay similar to the previous model.

Expected launch date

On February 19, which is the first anniversary of the iPhone 16e’s release, Apple is likely to announce the iPhone 17e. The 17e is expected to come out soon, although Apple hasn’t officially confirmed that this new low-cost model will be added to the iPhone 17 series.

Similar to last year, it’s most likely that the announcement will be shared through a normal press release instead of a special launch event. As the debut gets closer, there will be more updates.

Pricing Expected

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg says that the price may stay the same, with the base model with 128GB of storage starting at $599 (which is approximately Rs 54,000). The price in India could start at Rs 59,900, which is around the same as the iPhone 16e. People across the world should be able to get the iPhone 17e in white, black, and lavender.

Design and Specifications Details

Apple hasn’t said anything about the iPhone 17e yet, as we said before, but rumours offer details regarding its look and function. According to Jon Prosser’s concept video, the smartphone may feature Apple’s Dynamic Island and MagSafe charging technology. It is expected to come in white, black, and lavender, with thin bezels.

The 17e is expected to have a single 48-megapixel back camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an LED light, and a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera for selfies and video calling. It may feature volume controls and an action button on the left side, as well as a power button on the right. The design will most likely be similar to its predecessor. It will purportedly include the Dynamic Island feature and will be powered by Apple’s A19 processor and a C1X chip. The panel is also expected to have the same refresh rate as its predecessor, up to 60 Hz.
