You may find the feature annoying, and we get it. To tell you, you can easily remove the feature from the YouTube App. Here are 4 simple ways how to disable YouTube Shorts in the YouTube App.
Use YouTube From Your Web Browser
The most effortless way to get rid of the Shorts feature in the YouTube app is by using YouTube via your device’s web browser instead of the mobile app, whether from a smartphone, tablet or desktop. This is because the browser version of YouTube doesn’t contain the Shorts feature yet.
Remove Shorts from YouTube Home
The next best and easiest way to disable YouTube Shorts is from the Home tab. All you have to do is click on the 3 dots on the corner of the Shorts clip and mark every clip as Not Interested. This way the Shorts won’t appear even if you refresh your feed.
Downgrade the YouTube App
If the Shorts feature irritates you so much, you can consider taking the route of downgrading the YouTube app itself. You would need to downgrade the app to its version 14.12.56.
Use Youtube’s Vanced Version
The last way to resort to disabling the Youtube Shorts feature in the YouTube app is by using its Vanced version. It is a modded version of the YouTube app with some premium features like disabling ads, stories and sponsored content within the app. And yes, you guessed it right. It also offers you the option of disabling the Shorts feature among the others. All you need to do is go to Settings > Vanced Settings > Ad Settings, and turn on the Shorts shelf removal option from therein. That’s it!
