Telegram is one of the most popular instant messengers in the world, right behind WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. The IM is known for its cutting-edge features that can’t be found on WhatsApp. Like every other instant messaging app, Telegram lets you block other users on the platform. However, it does not notify you when you get blocked. In this article, we bring you the top 7 ways to find out whether someone blocked you on Telegram.Read Also:Crossbeats Monarch BT calling smartwatch launched in India
What to do if you’ve been blocked by someone on Instagram?
Ideally, you shouldn’t try to contact the user who has blocked you on Telegram. Constant persistence counts as harassment. However, if you think that you may have been accidentally blocked by the user, here’s what you can do to get yourself off the block list.
Send the contact a cellular text message, notifying them of the error.
If you have added the contact on other social media platforms (like Facebook, Instagram), try contacting them there.
Ask a mutual friend to clear the air.
Wait to be unblocked.
Your messages won’t deliver
When someone blocks you on Telegram, they cannot receive your messages anymore. A single tick next to your message shows that it has been successfully sent from your device. Double ticks confirm that the receiver has read your message. If your texts are stuck on single ticks for a long time, it is possible that you may have been blocked by the recipient. This is not a sure-shot way to confirm that you have been blocked by someone, but it is the first thing that you should look out for. Messages can also get stuck on single ticks when the recipient deletes the Telegram app from their device.
You can’t view the person’s profile picture
Another strong sign that you have been blocked by someone on Telegram is that you can’t view their profile picture anymore. In this situation, their profile picture reverts back to their initials. It is also possible that the user may have simply taken down their profile picture, but if your messages fail to deliver as well, it is more likely that you have been blocked by them.
Your chats with the person are deleted
Telegram gives you the option to delete your entire chat history with a contact once you block them. This option is turned on by default. Once you choose this option, it deletes the chat history for both parties. If you can’t view your conversation with someone, chances are that they have blocked you.
You are unable to view their activity status
Telegram lets you know when your contacts are online. A green dot next to their profile picture signifies that they are online. Once you open the conversation thread, you can view their activity status under their name. If the user has blocked you, this activity status turns to ‘Seen a long time ago’. If you are sure that the user was active on Telegram recently, this activity status could only mean that they have blocked your account.
Can’t add the contact to a group chat
One of the best ways of finding out if someone has blocked you on Telegram is by adding them to a group chat. The instant messaging service does not allow users to add contacts that have blocked them to a public or private group. Create a group chat on Telegram by tapping the pencil icon and selecting ‘New Group’. Search for the contact, select their name, and hit the arrow icon. Give the group a name and hit the tick icon. If you receive the ‘USER_IS_BLOCKED‘ error message, it means that you have likely been blocked by the contact.
Can’t call the contact
Being one of the most comprehensive communication apps around, Telegram also lets you connect with your friends via voice and video calls. However, your calls won’t go through when the contact has blocked you on the app. In this situation, you will see the ‘Call failed’ message when you try to connect over a call.
Verify the status of the contact with the help of a mutual friend
If you have a mutual friend with the contact, you can use their help to know for sure if you have been blocked. Request them to send a message to the contact. If the message is delivered and read, or better yet, answered, it confirms that you have been blocked by the contact in question.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How can I know if someone blocked me on Telegram?
If your messages fail to deliver, calls fail to connect, and the contact’s activity status and profile picture are unavailable, chances are that they have blocked you on Telegram.
Can I see the last seen of someone I blocked on Telegram?
Once you block someone you won’t be able to see their activity status or find out when they were last active on Telegram.
How can I see my blocked list on Telegram?
Go to Menu>Settings>Privacy and Security>Blocked Users to view your blocked list on Telegram.
When you block someone on Telegram, what do they see?
When you block someone on Telegram, their messages won’t be delivered to you. They won’t be able to see your profile picture either. However, your messages in common groups with the contact will be visible to them.
These are the top 7 ways to find out whether someone has blocked you on Telegram. If you want to block someone on Instagram, open their profile, hit the ellipses at the top right corner of the screen, and select ‘Block user’. Once you have blocked someone, you can easily unblock them either from your block list or by visiting their profile and hitting ‘Unblock’ on the conversation page. Tecno has joined the trend of LED backlights on phones. We have the Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G this time for the review, which we have been tinkering with for more than two weeks and have essentially used it enough in every situation to know how it performs in actual day-to-day use. Tecno has nearly mastered this one well, especially when you consider the price of less than Rs 20,000. Although it is undoubtedly one of the most cost-effective devices available, nothing is flawless. Here is our review of the Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G, in which we go over every last detail, user experience, and yes, the much-discussed design so you can decide whether or not to purchase it.
Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G Review: Design and Display
Everyone now claims that this resembles the Nothing Phone; to that, we would both agree and disagree. It is obvious that Nothing Phone (Nothing Phone 1 Review and Nothing Phone 2 Review)has influenced some of it. Despite RGB LED lights being placed all around the camera module, which Pova calls the Arc interface, the transparent back panel is the key design feature. When it is charging or when a call comes through these lights. In addition to having a stunning design and a 3D textured pattern (a rear panel with a cyber-inspired 3D texture), the back also features completely customizable RGB lights. The phone’s overall construction quality is excellent, and the front has Panda Glass protection. Also Read: iQOO Z7 Pro 5G Review: The best smartphone under Rs 25,000?There are two colour options for the Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G – Silver Fantasy and Dark Illusion. For the review, we have the Dark Illusion colour choice, which is absolutely lovely and creates a deep navy blue effect in bright lighting conditions.Moving to the side, you’ll notice a flat-looking design. On the right side of the frame, above the power button with an embedded fingerprint sensor, is a volume rocker. There is an additional speaker grille at the top. It should be noted that the gadget has stereo speakers with DTS audio and that a SIM card tray on the left supports both a dual nano SIM and a microSD card, indicating that storage can be expanded.A 3.5mm audio jack, a primary microphone, a Type C port for charging, and a speaker grille are all located on the bottom.About ten 5G bands are supported by this 5G phone. The power button incorporates the side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The onboard sensor did an excellent job; it is very easily accessible in a very convenient location and unlocks fairly accurately most of the times. The 6.78-inch full-HD+ display of the Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G supports 240Hz touch sampling rate and 120Hz refresh rate. For the pricing point, the display appears to be excellent. Particularly on the sides and top, the phone’s bezels are exceptionally tiny. You do have a little chin at the bottom, but considering the price, we consider it to be mostly acceptable.Although the display becomes bright enough for indoor usage, it is difficult to read when used outside throughout the day under direct sunlight. However, it is pretty sharp and does provide nice colour schemes.A smoother user experience is also made possible by the 120Hz refresh rate, and many of display adjustments are available in the display settings menu. The refresh rate can be changed from 60 to 90 to 120Hz. Even better, you may choose Auto Mode, which will adjust the refresh rate of the panel based on the sort of content you are viewing. Additionally, the display quality is fairly decent given the budget and is not inferior to other cheap panels. Thanks to the screen’s 1080p resolution, there is a respectable amount of detail produced. Whatever kind of content you are viewing, everything appears clear and concise, especially texts. Additionally, we have watched a few web shows and have been really pleased with the picture quality. The overall brightness may reach 580 nits, and the colour reproduction is also excellent. Also Read:Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Review: Flip it good! This phone has a stereo system with the primary speaker at the bottom and the secondary on top of the frame. The voices are clean and have good audio quality. Because it includes DTS and high-res audio capabilities, the sound quality is exceptionally well-balanced overall. These speakers are also fairly loud, and there isn’t any distortion at all.You may actually use the EQ and DTS audio optimisations in the sound setting to its best.
Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G Review: Performance and Cameras
The MediaTek Dimensity 6080 5G SoC and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU power the Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G. There are two storage options for the Pova 5 Pro 5G: 128GB or 256GB, both come with the same 8GB of RAM. With the help of internal storage, the phone’s MemFusion feature enables RAM extension by up to 5GB. Additionally, a MicroSD card can be used to increase the internal storage. We did not experience any lags or stutters while using it on a daily basis; most of the time, it ran well. This phone was capable of doing daily tasks like accessing the home screen and opening and closing apps seemed fluid. While the 120Hz refresh rate undoubtedly improved that performance as a whole. The chipset easily handles the majority of work, and games typically run smoothly at their recommended settings. Most of your favourite titles, including BGMI, COD, and Asphalt 9, are playable. With HD graphics, we played BGMI, and the entire gameplay was enjoyable. The phone already has the Panther engine 3.0, and you can access it and change many settings by swiping from the edge of the device. During intense gaming, the phone becomes a little warm, but that is not at all problematic. The smartphone comes pre-installed with HiOS 13.1, an Android 13-based operating system. We scarcely used any of the bloatware that was pre-installed on the gadget. In addition to this, this phone has some helpful features that tweak games for faster performance, like Game Space and a section in the settings menu called Micro Intelligence that lets you manage features like Lift to Wake and Flip Mute. The phone’s best feature is its customisable LED backlight, which is accessible through the settings themselves. The settings let you choose the kind of lighting effect you want to see when a call or notification comes in. Even the party music effects are adjustable. The performance of the camera is next. We did take a few test shots for the pictures. The smartphone has a 50-megapixel main rear camera that looks to take decent pictures in both ideal and less-than-ideal lighting conditions. But in really dim light, a lot of noise is visible. An additional AI camera is present as well, but it lacks an ultra-wide lens. The 16-megapixel front camera takes decent pictures in both natural and artificial lighting conditions. The colours are vibrant, and the pictures appear to be pretty sharp. There are many different photo modes in the camera app, including portrait mode and a Smart AI mode. The phone can also record videos at high to 2K (30 frames per second) and 1080p (60 frames per second). The Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G has a 5,000mAh battery, which lasted us under intensive use for almost a day. However, the battery life can be readily extended to a day or more with typical use.The 68W charger charges the phone completely in 49 minutes, which is a respectable amount of time for a handset priced below the 15k range. Notably, the LED backlighting also changes from red to green when the phone is running low on battery and shines red when the phone is completely charged.
Verdict
Under Rs 15,000, the Tecno Pova 5 Pro 5G is a pretty nice phone that performed admirably across the board. The best thing is that for this price you get a display with a 120Hz refresh rate that is highly responsive. LED backlights and 68W fast-charging capabilities are an excellent addition to the phone. The lack of an ultra-wide back camera sensor makes the camera section weak. If you’re searching for a low-cost phone, you should absolutely consider buying this one because it offers fantastic value overall.ProsThe phone looks beautiful120Hz displayFast chargingLED backlightConsLarge form factorNo ultra-wide cameraLow light camera performance is not great

We live in an era where technology is embedded in almost every aspect of our lives. From the smart speakers that serenade us with music to the intelligent thermostats that keep us cosy, our homes are becoming increasingly connected. But amid this surge in smart home adoption, there’s a component that has often been relegated to the corporate world: digital signage. It’s time to reassess that notion and bring digital signage into the fold of the modern smart home.
Why Digital Signage?
Digital signage has been primarily used in commercial settings such as retail spaces, airports, and corporate environments. Still, its application within the home is an untapped potential just waiting to be unlocked. The common perception that digital signage is an enterprise-level luxury is, at best, outdated. At its core, digital signage serves as an interactive, dynamic bulletin board that can provide an array of information. In a home setting, think of it as a much more sophisticated version of the fridge magnet to-do list.
Mounted on your wall, a digital signage display can show everything from real-time weather updates and local traffic conditions to a rotating gallery of family photos. Integrating a calendar, it can also remind you of upcoming appointments, school activities, and social commitments. It can even display energy consumption metrics, helping you understand and manage your household utilities more efficiently.
Integration with Smart Home Ecosystems
The real charm of home-based digital signage is its capability to merge seamlessly into existing smart home ecosystems. For Apple aficionados, an older iPad can be mounted on the wall to serve as a dedicated display. With Apple’s Shortcuts, HomeKit, and Apple TV you can program complex automation, such as having the screen automatically show your work calendar and to-do list when you step into your home office. Just learn an Apple TV guide from Kitcast and try to make your home smarter.
On the other hand, if you’re committed to Google’s ecosystem, Android tablets can be turned into Google Assistant-powered digital signage using various third-party apps. They can interface with your Google Calendar, Google Photos, and even Nest smart home products to create a unified and interactive digital experience.
Options for Every Budget
Once a high-cost affair, digital signage is now accessible for every budget. On the lower end of the spectrum, even a used or refurbished iPad or Android tablet can suffice as a basic digital display. For a more durable and visually appealing setup, commercial-grade digital displays connected to a mini-PC or a Mac Mini offer more robust solutions. Software options range from open-source platforms like Xibo to premium services like Screenly, giving you flexibility in how you manage your displays.
The Future is Voice-Controlled
Voice-controlled digital signage is emerging as a game-changer. The convenience of asking Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant to show your daily schedule, grocery list, or even recent security camera footage on a large display is compelling. This feature transforms digital signage from a passive display to an interactive part of your daily routine. We’ve already seen precursors to this with devices like Amazon’s Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub, but these are merely the tip of the iceberg.
Security and Privacy
As with any connected device, security and privacy are crucial factors to consider. While the risk with digital signage is generally low, ensure that your devices and connected services follow best practices in terms of data encryption and secure login methods. A secure smart home is an efficient smart home.
Final Thoughts
In today’s smart home landscape, where convenience and automation reign supreme, digital signage offers an exciting avenue for expansion. It moves us beyond simple command-based interfaces to a world where vital, personalized information is always at our fingertips—or even presented to us before we realize we need it.
Whether you’re new to smart home technology or you’ve got your home running like a well-oiled machine, digital signage provides an opportunity to add a layer of sophistication and utility that few have yet explored. With various options to suit all budgets, coupled with increasingly seamless smart home integration capabilities, digital signage promises to be the next big thing in home tech. Isn’t it time you got on board?

Google has good news for Chromebook users. The tech giant has officially confirmed that it will be extending the duration of upcoming updates to improve security and would henceforth receive routine, automatic upgrades every four weeks. Previously it was providing software updates for up to 8 years but it has now the number of years has been extended to 10. Not just that new ChromeOS updates for Chromebooks will hasten the repair procedure.Google via its blog post has announced that it will offer improved security features and 10 Years of automatic updates for Chromebooks, but there’s a catch Google has announced that all Chromebooks released in 2021 or after will now receive 10 Years of automatic updates beginning in 2024.“Today, we’re announcing new ways to keep your Chromebooks up and running even longer. All Chromebook platforms will get regular automatic updates for 10 years — more than any other operating system commits to today.”Every four weeks, Chromebooks automatically receive updates that increase security and lengthen the lifespan of your laptop. And starting in 2024, Google will prolong these automatic upgrades for another ten years, ensuring that your Chromebook has improved security, reliability, and functionality.Additionally, Google disclosed that it is collaborating with partners to create Chromebooks with more post-consumer recycled materials (PCR), as well as introducing new, power-saving features and quicker repair procedures. It will also help schools, businesses, and regular people locate the best recycling alternative after their useful lives are through.Users and IT administrators will have the choice to prolong automatic updates to 10 years from the platform’s release for Chromebooks released before 2021 that are already in use (after they receive their last automated update).A Chromebook still comes with strong, built-in security measures even if automatic updates are no longer provided. Your Chromebook performs a self-check each time it starts up with Verified Boot, for instance. It will typically repair itself, returning to its initial state, if it notices that the system has been altered or corrupted in any manner.Google will shortly roll out new repair processes that will enable licenced repair facilities, particularly in the US, to fix Chromebooks without an actual USB key. Therefore, this will save the time needed for software repairs by almost 50%.In the upcoming months, Google will introduce new, energy-efficient capabilities to the vast majority of compatible platforms in an effort to make Chromebooks more environmentally friendly. Battery saver will minimise or stop energy-intensive processes, while adaptive charging will assist in maintaining the health of the battery.
