With Center Stage, users will have perfect framing even as they move around the room. With iOS 17, Messages receives a brand-new sticker experience with new emoji stickers and the capability to create Live Stickers by removing objects from photographs. One can also add effects to Live drawers to make them come alive and a new keyboard drawer organises all of a user’s stickers for simpler access across iOS. Messages now also have an expanding menu that can be opened with a single swipe and displays iMessage apps. Additionally to make search more effective and accurate users can now begin a search and add more filters to it to receive more specific results. There will be a new catch-up arrow to indicate where the user last left off in the conversation, and replying inline is as simple as swiping on a text bubble. Check-In has also been introduced to messages. This feature will allow users if they want to notify a family member or friend that they have made it to their destination safely. When a user starts a Check-In, their friend or relative will be alerted right away when they arrive. The device’s position, battery life, and cell service status will all be momentarily shared with the chosen contact if they are not moving closer to their destination. With iOS 17, AirDrop will make it simple to send files to a coworker or images to a friend in a matter of seconds. Using NameDrop, users may quickly exchange contact information by touching their iPhones or their iPhones and Apple Watch together. One can also SharePlay to listen to music, view a movie, or play a game while holding their iPhone devices close to one another and using the same gesture to share content thanks to the new OS. Autocorrect has also been upgraded with a transformer language model which is the latest on-device machine-learning language model for word prediction which will improve the experience and accuracy. Additionally, it gets a new look to better facilitate typing, and sentence-level autocorrections can correct more varieties of grammatical errors. Users will now receive predictive text recommendations inline as they type, so adding entire words or completing sentences is as easy as tapping the space bar, making text entry faster than ever. A new StandBy mode has also been introduced with the iOS 17 giving users a full-screen experience with glanceable information designed to be viewed from a distance when iPhone is on its side and charging. This mode is ideal for a nightstand, kitchen counter, or desk. It can be customised to display a variety of lovely clock styles, beloved photographs, or widgets, such as Smart Stacks, which surface the appropriate widgets at the appropriate moment. In addition to this, it will also have support for Live Activities, Siri, incoming calls, and larger notifications. As per the company, the StandBy mode keeps track of a user’s chosen view when charging using MagSafe. A new app for Journalling on iPhone called Journal has also been introduced. Suggestions are intelligently curated from recent activity, including photos, people, places, workouts, and more, making it easy to start a journal entry, and scheduled notifications can help build a journaling habit. Scheduled notifications can also encourage writing. Journal is designed to secure a user’s privacy and make sure no one — including Apple — can see a user’s entries as it is end-to-end encrypted. Developers will be able to include journaling ideas in their apps with the new Journaling ideas.
