This is accentuated by the monochromatic style, where the matching mint-colored leather wrap and plastic chassis create a coordinated colour scheme.
Additionally, the faux-leather texture and the inner plastic tray help bolster the unified mint look and give the whole aesthetic a clean and attractive look. One of the highlights of the design is the Flex Leather, which enhances the earphones’ visual appeal and provides a matte, high-friction grip. This is a particularly great feature, as it prevents slipping and keeps the earphones in place even when the hands are sweaty.

It is essential to note, however, that the clip is firmly tensioned and may be uncomfortable. People with thicker ear cartilage might experience some pinching, whereas those with thinner ears may find the fit too loose, potentially impacting sound quality. Additionally, users need to adjust to this design and accurately position the speaker in their ear canal to achieve optimal sound performance.
Sound Performance
Sound quality is essential, as these earbuds compensate for their design not being completely inserted in the ear. So let’s first talk about the sound quality, and then we will go on to the quad-mic setup performance.
TruClips have customised 12mm drivers that provide a 360-degree spatial soundstage for a superior audio experience. The drivers provide decent clarity in the mids and highs, with voices and podcast audio being crisp and clear regardless of any background noise. But there is a difference in the bass response due to the smaller driver size. You can definitely feel the beat, but the deep sub-bass that is often preferred for hip-hop, EDM, etc, is significantly missing when compared to bigger drivers.
TruClips are engineered to provide an immersive audio experience that seems like it surrounds your head, rather than sound being projected straight into your ear canal. The spatial audio capabilities come at a cheap price, but they can also add artificial reverb. The sound is a little distorted, especially when playing high-fidelity music songs.
For optimal sound quality, set the volume between 60% and 80%, as volumes above 80% tend to leak significantly. This leak occurs because of the high sound projection, making it easy for others nearby to recognise the music. Overall, the TruClips do a very good job of presenting vocals clearly and providing an airy soundstage, but if you’re someone who likes a lot of bass, you may be disappointed. Also, the spatial effects may not be as effective depending on the quality of the music you’re playing.
With Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) and an effective quad-microphone array, the TruClips are a perfect choice as a lifestyle accessory as well as a functional work tool. They are open-ear buds that are particularly designed to capture clear voice communication while filtering out background noise. In a quiet area such as a home office, the quad-mic system isolates your voice for natural and clean call audio.
The design optimises microphone positioning to reduce wind interference; thus, the TruClips are well-suited to walking or gentle running. Also, users may have to crank up the volume, however, to hear calls over surrounding noise. This condition may lead to sound leakage concerns, and others around may be able to hear the conversation.
The battery life of the truke TruClips is rather good, with a total of 55 hours of playing, including the charging case. The earphones alone last for 8 to 10 hours on a single charge, depending on the volume level. This makes them perfect for long usage, allowing for 4 to 5 days of listening without the need to recharge.
