Software Giant Google recently took the wraps off its flagship phones- Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro globally. The devices are currently available for pre-order in select countries and are scheduled to go on sale from October 28.

As of now, the company is making the flagship phones for pre-orders in 8 countries across the globe and that includes the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Japan and Taiwan. However, both Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro are not among the countries where the smartphone will be available.

The company has itself confirmed that the latest Pixel phones will not be released in India in the near future. According to the company, a variety of factors that includes global supply chain issues are blamed for the absence of its flagship device from the Indian market. Also, pricing is another factor that Google may have taken into account choosing not to introduce flagship devices as the Indian market is majorly dominated by Chinese brands that are offering at a very lower price with which the Mountain View company cannot perform.

Will Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro launch in India?

It should be noted that none of the company’s past flagship devices has been introduced in the country. Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 4 XL and Pixel 4 are among them; however last year the company did launch the toned down Pixel 4A variant in India.

Of course, the company keeps on saying that a variety of factors are responsible for not launching its flagship phones but in our opinion, it is not a valid reason for not launching Google Pixel 6 series in the Indian market.

The price of Google Pixel 6 starts at $599 which translates to Rs 44,971. On the other hand, the Google Pixel 6 Pro will be available at an asking price of $899, which converts to Rs 67,494. The Pixel 6 will be offered in Black, Red and Blue colour options, while the Pro variant will come in White, Black and Light Gold shades.

Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the first devices to be powered by Google’s in-house Tensor chipset. The vanilla Pixel 6 will be available with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Pro, on the other hand, will be available with up to 12GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB, 1256GB, and 512GB. The Pixel 6 comes with a 6.4-inch LTPO display and it supports an adaptive refresh rate up to 90Hz. The Google Pixel 6 Pro features a 6.7-inch LTPO display that comes with a variable refresh rate that ranges from 10Hz to 120Hz.
