Redmi 8 with 5,000mAh battery to go on a weekly flash sale via Flipkart and MI.com

The sale will begin at 12 noon on the online platforms

Last month Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched a new smartphone in India under the budget segment. The company introduced Redmi 8, which is the successor of Redmi 7 that was also launched this year, too. Today the smartphone will go on its weekly flash sale on Flipkart as well as Xiaomi’s official website Mi.com. The smartphone comes with a 5,000mAh battery and a dual rear camera set up.

Redmi Note 8 will go on a weekly flash sale today platforms Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home stores from 12 noon onwards. The smartphone is available in two storage variants 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage at Rs Rs 7,999 and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage comes with a price tag of Rs 8,999. But for the first 5 million units, the company will sell the 4GB variant at Rs 7,999. The device comes in four colour options Oynx Black, Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue.

Redmi 8 specifications and features

Redmi 8 features a 6.22-inch High Definition IPS LCD Display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The mobile phone runs Android 9 Pie and under the hood, there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card up to 512GB. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back panel.

Coming on the imaging capabilities, Redmi 8 sports an AI-powered dual rear camera set up. The set up includes a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture assisted by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The camera system supports other features such as AI Scene Detection and Google Lens. For selfies and video calling there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with AI Portrait mode and face unlock feature.

As said, Redmi 8 houses a 5,000mAh battery supported by 18W fast charging technology. But inside the box, you will get a 10W charger and the 18W charger can be bought separately. For connectivity, there is 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, infrared, wireless FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.
