If you know the right command, you can view the current speed of your mouse and push it to a level that goes beyond the preferences laid forward by the ‘System Preferences’. Of course, if you want a cleaner and more UI-driven way to go about this task, there are a bunch of tools that can help you achieve it. Our three favourite third-party apps to control the mouse or trackpad speed are BetterTouchTool, USB Overdrive, and Mouse Acceleration Preference Pane.

Redmi 13 5G Review: The camera phone to get under Rs 15,000

Launched in July, the Redmi 13 5G is the latest offering in Xiaomi’s budget smartphone series. Priced at Rs 14,000, this smartphone looks very promising on paper, especially with its 108MP camera sensor, glass back panel (a rarity for this segment), and the respectable Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE processor. Of course, Xiaomi has also made some tradeoffs to keep the price of the device in check. We’ve been using the smartphone for more than a week to find out if it delivers the performance it promises on paper. Here is our in-depth review of the Redmi 13 5G. Redmi 13 5G Review: Design and Display

Here’s what you get inside Redmi 13’s retail box:
  • Smartphone
  • 33W power adapter
  • USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable
  • Clear plastic case
  • SIM ejector
  • Quick start guide
Redmi 13 5G Review: Design and Display The glass black panel is one of the major highlights of this phone. Despite having a glossy finish, this panel does not attract a lot of fingerprints. Its in-hand feel exceeds any other plastic back panel smartphone in this price segment. On the flip side, having a glass back comes with additional weight. The Redmi 13 5G weighs 205 grams. The smartphone’s design isn’t too extravagant, which isn’t a bad thing at all. In fact, its design is similar to its predecessor. The two camera cutouts are larger in size, but they are arranged in the same vertical layout that we saw on the Redmi 12 5G. A small ring flash is placed adjacent to the two cutouts. design The plastic frame of the smartphone houses the primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and the lone speaker grille on its bottom edge. It is nice to see the headphone jack and IR blaster on the device as well. Both of them are placed on the top edge. The right edge of the smartphone carries the volume rocker keys and the side button, which also doubles up as the fingerprint scanner. The hybrid SIM tray is placed on the left edge. Redmi 13 5G Review: Design and Display Sporting a 6.79-inch LCD panel, the Redmi 13 is not a small smartphone by any means. However, its taller form factor makes it quite easy to hold in one hand. The bezels surrounding this display get noticeably thicker around the chin. The selfie camera is housed inside a punch-hole cutout. The display has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and can reach 550 nits in HBM. The smartphone struggled to hit the optimum brightness under direct sunlight and we were forced to shield it with our palms to increase the legibility of the display. display Having an LCD panel also means that the smartphone misses out on Always On Display. It provides a decent viewing experience with vibrant colours and a good amount of detail but doesn’t replicate the deep blacks and rich colours like its AMOLED counterparts. The output produced by the lone speaker grille is passable but not as loud as a dual-speaker setup. We found that the output was easily drowned out by the background sound of loud fans and ACs. The good thing is that you can plug a wired headset into the smartphone and not rely on dishing out a couple extra thousand on a wireless headset. Rated IP53 for dust and water resistance, the Redmi 13 can survive minor splashes. However, we would not recommend taking out the smartphone under the rain for an extended period of time.

Redmi 13 5G Review: Performance and Cameras

The Redmi 13 5G gets a minor update upgrade under the hood. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 ‘Accelerated Edition’ SoC. There are two RAM variants on offer – 6GB and 8GB. The latter variant fetches Rs 15,500. Both RAM variants get 128GB of fixed UFS 2.2 storage. This is certainly not the fastest storage spec out there, but it is fairly commonplace in this price segment. Redmi 13 5G Review: Performance and Cameras Our everyday usage experience with the Redmi 13 5G throughout the review period was very pleasant. The smartphone’s performance is limited by the boundaries of the segment, which is why we can’t judge it too harshly for the odd stutter and lag. Overall, our app usage experience was smooth and seamless. Sure, the apps take a fraction of a second longer to load, but it doesn’t take too long to get used to it. The display’s touch response is snappy and makes navigating the smartphone much more fun. Tasks like web browsing, video calling, navigation, and media streaming do not feel like a hassle. We ran the Geekbench 6 test on the smartphone and it returned a single-core score of 953 points and a multi-core score of 2,207 points. Last year’s Redmi 12 5G scored 791 and 1,803 points respectively. geekbench Redmi 13 5G’s gaming performance is consistent when the titles are limited to moderate graphics. The smartphone delivers 60fps gameplay devoid of any major jitters and frame drops. However, the internal temperature of the smartphone rises sharply after the 30-minute mark. Its effect is noticeable on the gaming performance. It goes without saying that this smartphone is not a workhorse that is designed for a high-end gaming experience, nor it is marketed as such. If top-shelf gaming performance is your top priority, you will need to splurge some extra money for a more powerful device. One of our favourite things about the Redmi 13 5G is that it comes with the Android 14-based HyperOS out of the box. It is nice to see Xiaomi offer its next-gen OS on its most affordable 5G smartphone. The only catch is that it is a limited version of HyperOS, which means the smartphone misses out on a few features. For us, the biggest miss is the ‘Magazine’ lock screen that uses your portrait images to create attractive lock screen layouts. On the bright side, it has essential privacy tools like App Lock and Second Screen. Packing a massive 5,030mAh battery unit, the Redmi 13 delivers a versatile battery performance. We were easily able to get a day’s worth of charge on heavy usage. If you’re more conservative with your usage, you can push its battery life to 1.5 days. During the review period, we used the Redmi 13 5G for calling, instant messaging, social media browsing, media streaming, and gaming. We were left with a 10-15% charge at the end of each day. Using the 33W charger that comes in the box, it took us almost an hour to fully charge the device. camera Moving on, the Redmi 13 5G produces a fabulous camera performance, which could possibly be the one to beat in this price segment. This is largely due to the powerful 108MP primary sensor in the rear camera array. Also present is a 2MP macro sensor for close-up shots. Up front, the smartphone packs a 13MP selfie camera. Redmi 13 5G Review: Performance and Cameras Redmi 13 5G Review: Performance and Cameras In outdoor daylight conditions, the 108MP primary shooter puts up a phenomenal performance, producing vibrant pictures with surprisingly accurate colours for a smartphone in this price range. The images pack a good level of contrast and display a decent dynamic range. The clarity along with the level of detail in the images is top-notch. camera camera After a brilliant showcase in daylight conditions, we were expecting the smartphone to deliver in a limited lighting environment as well, but its performance in this aspect is on par with other devices in this segment. The smartphone struggles to brighten the subject and the results are generally very soft and dark. This isn’t a dealbreaker for us because it is pretty much the norm in this price category.

Portrait Shots
The portrait shots taken with the Redmi 13 5G are focused, detailed, and rich in colour. The smartphone does a good job of separating the subject from the background and applying the appropriate level of blur. The same is the case with portrait shots taken with the selfie camera. The front-facing 13MP sensor tends to overcorrect the skin tone and texture, but the overall results are satisfactory. The video recording chops of both sensors are limited to 1080p resolution and 30fps. Read Also: How to Change Text or Font Colour in iPhone and iPad Notes (2024)

Verdict

The Redmi 13 5G pushes the boundaries of camera performance in the sub-Rs 15,000 price category. For this price, you’d be hard-pressed to find a phone that takes better pictures in daylight conditions than the Redmi 13. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE SoC puts up a good performance and Xiaomi’s HyperOS presents a decent software experience. On the styling end, Redmi 13’s glass back panel ensures that the smartphone has a splendid in-hand feel. The lack of an AMOLED display, AOD, and dual speaker are some significant tradeoffs, but we feel that Redmi 13’s processor and primary sensor easily balance these shortcomings and make it an exciting smartphone in this price range.

Redmi 13 5G: Pros

  • Great 108MP primary camera
  • Glass back
  • Runs HyperOS out of the box
  • 33W charging

Redmi 13 5G: Cons

  • LCD panel instead of AMOLED
  • No AOD
  • Lacks a dual speaker setup

Can you change the colour of the text in the Notes app?

Can you change the colour of the text in the Notes app? To put it simply, there is no way to change the text colour in Apple Notes for iOS and iPadOS. As of now, there is no native option that allows users to make the text colourful on their iOS 17 device. At best, you can highlight a piece of text, but your colour options are very limited. Highlighting the text fills the background with a lighter shade of the chosen colour, which is not as same as simply changing the font shade. In contrast, the Notes app for Mac has a wide range of editing tools, including the option to change the text colour. There is one workaround that lets you have colour Notes on your iPhone. If you sync the Notes app with your iCloud account, the note files from your Mac will get synced to your iPhone. You may not directly be able to change the text colour on your iPhone, but you can edit them on your Mac and view the changes on your smartphone.

  • The device will be available in five colour options.
  • iPhone 16 Pro on the other hand is likely to be available in four colour options.
Although the release of Apple’s iPhone 16 series is still far off, leaks and rumours are still making the rounds. Four models—the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—are probably part of the next lineup. A user on X has leaked dummy units of the regular iPhone 16 model, revealing five colour variations and a revised camera island with vertically orientated lenses. Three colour possibilities for the iPhone 16 Pro models have been leaked in another leak, and a fourth colour option—rose titanium—has also reportedly surfaced. The iPhone 16, with its vertically orientated lenses and revamped camera island, has been leaked. In contrast to the pastel colours of the iPhone 15, the renders feature dummy units in black, blue, green, pink, and white hues that are more intense.

Innovations in Mobile iGaming: What to Expect in the Future

Key Highlights:
  • Advancements in AI and VR set to revolutionize mobile iGaming
  • Integration of blockchain technology for enhanced security and transparency
  • Rise of cross-platform play to provide seamless gaming experiences
The mobile iGaming industry is on the cusp of a revolution, driven by rapid technological advancements and evolving user preferences. As developers push the boundaries of innovation, players can look forward to an increasingly immersive and secure gaming experience. Here are some of the most exciting trends and innovations to watch out for in the future of mobile iGaming.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are set to play a pivotal role in transforming mobile iGaming. AI-powered algorithms can personalize the gaming experience by analyzing player behaviour and preferences, ensuring that the content is tailored to individual users. This means more relevant game recommendations, dynamic difficulty adjustments, and even personalized bonuses and rewards. Moreover, AI can help in detecting fraudulent activities and ensuring fair play, thereby enhancing the integrity of online betting apps and other gaming platforms.

Virtual and Augmented Reality

Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are poised to take mobile iGaming to the next level. VR can provide players with an immersive casino experience from the comfort of their homes, complete with realistic graphics and interactive environments. AR, on the other hand, can blend the virtual and physical worlds, allowing players to engage with their surroundings in new and exciting ways. Imagine playing a poker game where the cards and chips appear on your living room table, or exploring a fantasy world that extends beyond your phone screen.

Blockchain Technology

The integration of blockchain technology in mobile iGaming is set to enhance security, transparency, and fairness. Blockchain can ensure that transactions are secure and transparent, providing a verifiable record of every bet placed and every game played. Additionally, blockchain can facilitate faster and more secure payments, making it easier for players to deposit and withdraw funds on their favourite online betting apps. This not only builds trust among players but also eliminates the possibility of tampering or manipulation.

Cross-Platform Play

The future of mobile iGaming will see a rise in cross-platform play, allowing players to enjoy their favourite games seamlessly across different devices. Whether it’s a smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer, cross-platform play ensures a consistent gaming experience regardless of the device being used. This is particularly important for multiplayer games, where players can join the action from any device and compete with others without any interruptions. This trend is likely to foster a more connected and engaged gaming community.

5G Technology

The rollout of 5G networks promises to significantly enhance the mobile iGaming experience. With faster download and upload speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connections, 5G will enable smoother gameplay and more responsive interactions. This is especially crucial for real-time games and live betting, where even the slightest delay can impact the outcome. As 5G becomes more widespread, players can expect a dramatic improvement in the quality and performance of online betting apps and other mobile gaming platforms.

Social and Competitive Gaming

The social aspect of gaming is becoming increasingly important, and mobile iGaming is no exception. Future innovations will focus on enhancing the social and competitive elements of gaming, with features like in-game chat, leaderboards, and social media integration. Players will be able to share their achievements, challenge friends, and compete in tournaments, creating a more engaging and interactive gaming experience. This shift towards social and competitive gaming is expected to attract a broader audience and foster a sense of community among players.

Conclusion

The future of mobile iGaming is bright, with a host of innovations set to transform the way we play and interact with games. From AI and VR to blockchain and 5G, these technological advancements promise to deliver a more immersive, secure, and connected gaming experience. As the industry continues to evolve, players can look forward to exciting new possibilities and a truly next-generation mobile iGaming experience.

How to Use Google to Search Within a Single Website

0
Google’s search engine is its flagship product, but it has taken a massive hit lately. The response to AI search overviews has been lukewarm at best, often driven by harsh criticism of its failure to weed out misinformation. If you don’t want to stray from your trusted sources of information, you can perform a search that strictly refers to those sources. Here’s how you can use Google to search within a specific website or domain. Read Also: CMF Watch Pro 2 by Nothing Review: An efficient fitness tracker that doesn’t compromise on aesthetics

Why you should use targeted results

Even though it has garnered some criticism in recent times, Google search still remains one of the most popular on the Internet. In fact, it is so powerful that users often prefer using it to search for content within other websites. Reddit is notoriously known for having a poor search tool, which drives users to Google. Instead of simply suffixing your search query with the name of the website, you can perform a much more targeted Google search to look into the contents of the website alone. This filters out all the results that are not a part of the website in question. Apart from that, you can also tweak Google search to look into particular domain extensions. This comes in handy when you’re working on an assignment and need to look into the official data related to your project. With a simple trick, you can get results from government bodies and other organisations by looking into .gov and .org domains.

Search within a specific website using Google

Step 1: Prefix your search with site: [site URL]. This includes the complete address of the website and not just its name. For example, if you want to search within GadgetBridge, prefix your query with site: gadgetbridge.com. Step 1: Prefix your search with site: [site URL]. This includes the complete address of the website and not just its name. For example, if you want to search within GadgetBridge, prefix your query with site: gadgetbridge.com. Step 2: Type in your search query. For example, if you’re looking for reviews of iQOO smartphones, type site: gadgetbridge.com iQOO review. Step 2: Type in your search query. For example, if you’re looking for reviews of iQOO smartphones, type site: gadgetbridge.com iQOO review. Step 3: Hit Enter. The results from the site of your choice will appear on the screen.

Search within a specific domain using Google

Government domains are the most reliable source if you’re looking for official data, case studies, and policies around any subject. If you want to filter the results and look into only one kind of domain, use this trick. Step 1: Prefix your search with site: [domain extension]. For example, if you want results only from .gov websites, type site: .gov. Step 1: Prefix your search with site: [domain extension]. For example, if you want results only from .gov websites, type site: .gov. google search within url Step 2: Type in your search query. For example: If you’re looking for the details related to the 2024-25 budget, type site: .gov budget 2024-25. Step 2: Type in your search query. For example: If you’re looking for the details related to the 2024-25 budget, type site: .gov budget 2024-25. google search within url Step 3: Hit Enter. The filtered results from the domain of your choice will be listed on the screen.

CMF Watch Pro 2 by Nothing Review: An efficient fitness tracker that doesn’t compromise on aesthetics

Nothing’s subsidiary brand made its debut last year with audio and smart wearable products. This year, CMF launched its first smartphone along with the second-generation TWS and smartwatch. The CMF Watch Pro 2 is not a minor upgrade by any means. The smartwatch has a new form factor and sports features that were previously missing. All these changes do not stray away from the design aesthetic laid down by CMF. The Watch Pro 2 still has the ‘Comfort, Material, Finish’ vibe to it. Interested to see how this wearable fares against the best in its category, we used for a week. Here is our review of the CMF Watch Pro 2. CMF Watch Pro 2 by Nothing Review: Design and Display

Here’s what you get inside CMF Watch Pro 2’s retail box:
  • Smartwatch
  • Magnetic clip charger
  • Safety information booklet
CMF Watch Pro 2 by Nothing Review: Design and Display CMF Watch Pro 2’s design is a complete 180 from its predecessor. Instead of a square dial, the smartwatch now rocks a more traditional circular form factor. The sandblasted metal case has an interchangeable bezel. The rotating crown is positioned on the right side of the frame. Flipping the dial over, you will find the sensor array, magnetic charging slot, speaker grille, and microphone. Overall, the minimal design of the smartwatch is quite appealing – everything serves a purpose and there are no unnecessary bells and whistles. design There are some interesting customisation options for the CMF Watch Pro 2 that are worth checking out. First up, there are four bezels that can be attached to the watch. These bezels come in two shapes (flat and curved) and two colours (Dark Grey and Ash Grey). The watch strap is available in two materials – Liquid Silicon and Vegan Leather. The former is available in Dark Grey and Ash Grey colours while the latter can be had in Blue and Orange variants. The vegan leather strap is more suited for casual use. It starts to itch when things get a little sweaty. If you’re getting this smartwatch to track your exercise and workout routines primarily, we highly recommend going for the liquid silicone strap. CMF Watch Pro 2 by Nothing Review: Design and Display Moving on, the 1.32-inch AMOLED display has a 60Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 620 nits. The display is perfectly legible in outdoor conditions. There is adaptive brightness onboard, but we found ourselves manually switching to a brighter level in indoor settings. The touch response offered by the display is good. It registers subtle touch gestures with ease and provides a snappy browsing experience. The CMF Watch Pro 2 is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. This makes it waterproof but it is not equipped to handle immersion in 1.5m deep water for more than 30 minutes. There is no ‘Swimming’ mode on the watch either. However, you can use it for activities like Sailing, Surfing, and Jet Skiing. The smartwatch is unfazed by sweat or water splashes. We wore it during high-intensity workouts and long runs and its performance remained undeterred.

CMF Watch Pro 2 by Nothing Review: Performance

Pairing the CMF Watch Pro 2 to a smartphone is a smooth and seamless process. As soon as you turn on the watch, it displays a QR code which redirects your phone to the CMF Watch app as soon as it is scanned. Once the watch is paired to your phone via Bluetooth 5.3, it can automatically sync the data to the companion app. The smartwatch is compatible with smartphones running Android 8.0 and above or iOS 13 and above. The Watch Pro 2 is equipped with an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor (for adaptive brightness), and the usual heart rate & blood oxygen sensors. Also on board is a built-in multi-GPS system, which is rare at this price point. CMF Watch Pro 2 by Nothing Review: Performance The blood oxygen and heart rate readings recorded by the Watch Pro 2 are reliable and consistent with medical-grade equipment. You can set the watch to measure your heart rate and blood oxygen at all times, but it will come at the cost of sacrificing battery life (more on that later). On top of that, the Watch Pro 2 sends you high/low heart rate and low blood oxygen alerts. The addition of automatic workout detection is a welcome change on the Watch Pro 2 but we would like to see it fleshed out some more. Turning on workout detection merely reminds you to record your workout instead of automatically logging it. Another limiting aspect of this feature is that it only works for running, walking, and cycling. The smartwatch records your steps without being prompted but its numbers have a 3-5% room for error. performance The built-in GPS on the Watch Pro 2 is something we like a lot. You don’t need to take your phone with you while going on an outdoor run or hike. The smartwatch accurately tracks your path on the map and syncs it with your smartphone. The Watch Pro 2 supports up to 120 sports, workouts, exercises, and workout routines. These include outdoor/indoor running, outdoor/indoor cycling, cross-training, yoga, boxing, soccer, treadmill, HIIT, kickboxing, karate, belly dancing, roller skating, and more. The comprehensive data sets and progress charts can be viewed from the CMF Watch app. On the OS front, the CMF Watch Pro 2 retains the ‘Nothing’ aesthetics. Its greyed-out menu is reminiscent of Nothing OS. On the flip side, the splash of orange on the widgets is uniquely CMF. The Watch Pro 2’s OS is well-optimised and delivers a snappy and fun experience. The crown button does not have a physical response like a mouse’s scroll wheel, but the software makes up for it by offering nice haptic feedback every time the crown is rotated. Pressing the crown takes you to the menu, where it can be used to go through the options. However, pressing it again takes you back to the home screen. We would have preferred it to double up as a selection button. CMF Watch Pro 2 by Nothing Review: Performance A right swipe on the home screen takes you to the calling widgets. You can view your call history and contacts on this screen. There’s also a dialpad for manually calling a number. The calling function on the smartwatch only works as long as you’re connected to your phone via Bluetooth. The same goes for receiving text notifications. The weather, health, SpO2, heart rate, and other widgets can be accessed by swiping left on the home screen. You don’t need to open a widget to view the data. They are designed to reflect the current metrics. The CMF Watch app serves as a great companion application to the Watch Pro 2. We did not encounter any jitters or lags while using the app during the review period. It has a simple yet pleasing layout that does a great job of displaying the essential data at a glance. The sleep analysis offered by the app based on the watch’s data is impeccable. It breaks down your sleep cycle into four phases – Deep, Core, REM, and Awake. You can view monthly, weekly, and yearly charts for your sleep data on the app. The same goes for exercise, heart rate, stress, and blood oxygen data. app On the functional side, the CMF Watch app offers a good range of options for watch faces and widgets. The downside is that you can only store a maximum of 6 faces on the watch at any given time. There is no option to customise the watch faces either. During the review period, we used the CMF Watch Pro 2 with all cylinders blasting. We turned the background monitoring for SpO2 and heart rate, used the Always On Display, kept the display at maximum brightness, received calls on the device via Bluetooth, charted our hikes via GPS, and more. It took us 7 days to reach a 10% charge level on the watch, which is pretty impressive. With more conservative usage, you can push the battery life to 11 days. On standby mode, the Watch Pro 2 can easily last over a month on a full charge. The magnetic clip charger that comes with the watch can fully charge it in less than 2 hours. Verdict

The CMF Watch Pro 2 strikes a nice balance between aesthetics and performance. Its round dial lends it a more traditional look but under the hood, it can keep up with any demanding workout session. The brand has put a lot of thought into determining which aspects should be open for user customisation and which ones should come under its aesthetic control. We think this strategy has paid off quite well on the Watch Pro 2. Of course, we’d like to see more versatility in automatic workout detection and adaptive brightness functions. But for a smartwatch priced at Rs 5,500, the CMF Watch Pro 2 puts up a fine display.

CMF Watch Pro 2: Pros

  • Bright AMOLED display
  • Good customisation options
  • Clean OS
  • Efficient health and fitness tracker

CMF Watch Pro 2: Cons

  • Adaptive display needs to work better in an indoor setting
  • Lacks a full-fledged automatic workout detection mode

How to Turn On Subtitles on Android TV (2024)

0
Just like Android smartphones, Android TVs are capable of providing auto-generated captions for the content being played on the screen. While these captions are not as accurate as the native subtitles, they are pretty close to the real deal. Closed captioning and subtitles are necessary for people with hearing disabilities and Android devices have come a long way in the last few years when it comes to integrating them in the UI. Today, we bring you the top 3 ways to turn on subtitles and closed captions on your Android/Smart TV. Read Also: Vivo Strengthens Local Component Ecosystem with Over 30 Suppliers

Before you begin

Using live captions is a much more intuitive process than using them on a TV. On your smartphone, you can easily enable captions from the Quick Settings Menu. The caption box can be moved around the screen by a simple long press and placed in a spot where it doesn’t interfere with the visual content. In contrast, the option to enable captions is nestled away in device settings on a Smart TV and its positioning must be decided beforehand. The captions on a Smart TV are limited to a few languages. Before playing the content on the TV, make sure it supports captions in that language. For a better experience, using a service with in-house captions/subtitles is recommended. If you’re viewing downloaded content, you can also find its subtitles file online.
