Google IO 2026: Here is everything about the Intelligent AI Search box and new features
Google I/O 2026: Here is how Google’s AI Mode is changing the Search rules
Google’s AI-Powered Smart Glasses Are Coming Soon: Meet the Android XR Eyewear That Wants to Replace Your Phone
Google’s Android XR audio glasses with Gemini AI are officially on the horizon, and the search giant is not being shy about its ambitions. At Google I/O 2026, Google pulled back the curtain on its new category of “intelligent eyewear,” a product range built in close partnership with Samsung and Qualcomm that runs on the Android XR platform. For the first time, the world got a proper look at two real designs: one from cult fashion label Gentle Monster, and one from beloved American eyewear brand Warby Parker. No ugly prototype vibes here. These are glasses you might actually want to wear.
What Exactly Are These Glasses?
Google is splitting its intelligent eyewear into two distinct types. The first, launching later this fall, is audio glasses. These are screenless by design, delivering all their help through built-in over-ear speakers that are described as crisp, clear, and private. The second type, display glasses, will follow at a later date and will overlay information directly into your field of vision. For now, the audio glasses take the spotlight, and they are packing a surprising amount of technology into a pair of frames.
There are cameras and microphones onboard for Gemini’s use, and you can wake up the assistant either by saying “Hey Google” or by tapping the side of the frame. From that moment, the glasses become something of a personal AI companion for the real world.

The feature list is genuinely impressive, and reads less like a tech spec sheet and more like a wish list someone reasonable would have written.
Navigation gets a serious upgrade. Because the glasses know exactly where you are standing and which direction you are facing, turn-by-turn directions feel genuinely natural, rather than the robotic barking most phone navigation apps offer. Gemini can also add stops to your route or suggest nearby restaurants based on your preferences, mid-journey.

Real-time translation is another standout. Whether you are looking at a menu in a foreign language or having a conversation with someone who speaks a different tongue, the glasses can translate both written text and spoken speech. Impressively, the audio translation is designed to match the tone and pitch of the original speaker’s voice, which should make the experience feel far less robotic than the machine translations we have all grimaced through.
Photo and video capture work with a single voice command. Pair that with Nano Banana, Google’s generative AI image editing model, and you can take a picture and immediately transform it. The example Google gave was telling the glasses to “put everyone in funny hats,” which is either delightful or mildly unhinged, depending on your sense of humour.
The task management capabilities are where things get genuinely futuristic. Gemini Intelligence can handle multi-step background tasks while you are going about your day. The demo saw Gemini preparing a coffee order on DoorDash, with the user only needing to confirm the final purchase. Uber rides, language learning through Mondly, and managing calls and texts without touching your phone are all part of the mix, too.
The Fashion Question Google Finally Got Right
Anyone who remembers Google Glass knows that even the best tech falls flat if nobody wants to wear it. Google has clearly learned from that particular adventure. Both Gentle Monster, known for its bold and artistically disruptive designs, and Warby Parker, celebrated for its refined and timeless aesthetics, bring serious fashion credibility to the partnership. These are not novelty gadgets masquerading as eyewear. They are fashion pieces with technology quietly built inside.
Gentle Monster founder and CEO Hankook Kim described the goal as merging fashion and technology in a way that feels “bold, beautiful and human.” Warby Parker brings its own distinct design philosophy to its collection, aiming for the kind of understated elegance that sits comfortably in both a coffee shop and a boardroom.
A Few Things We Are Still Waiting On
No pricing has been confirmed. No exact release date beyond “fall 2026” has been given for the US market. International availability details are equally thin on the ground. For comparison, Meta sold over seven million AI glasses in 2025, more than triple the prior year, and currently holds around 82 per cent of global smart glasses shipments. Google is entering a market that already has a dominant player, and it needs both the technology and the fashion credentials to compete seriously.
The glasses will work with both Android and iOS phones, which is a smart move given the sheer number of iPhone users in key markets like the US, UK, and Australia.

Intelligent eyewear is shaping up to be the next genuinely new hardware category, and Google is making a serious play to lead it. The combination of Gemini AI, strong fashion partnerships, cross-platform support, and a rich feature set gives these glasses a better foundation than any previous attempt at smart eyewear. Whether they can convert that foundation into real consumer success will depend on factors that remain unanswered for now: price, battery life, and how well Gemini actually performs in real-world conditions.
The truth is that if these glasses are priced sensibly, look good, and the AI works reliably, Google might just have its most interesting consumer hardware launch in years. That is not a guarantee, but for the first time in a long time, it feels like a reasonable possibility.
Google I/O 2026: Gemini Goes Agentic and Everything Changes
If you thought last year’s Google I/O was ambitious, Google CEO Sundar Pichai just walked onto the Shoreline Amphitheatre stage in Mountain View and casually announced the next era of computing. Google I/O 2026 agentic AI announcements confirmed what many had suspected: Google is no longer building features around AI. It is rebuilding everything around it. From a 24/7 personal AI agent to a multimodal model that generates video from virtually any input, the sheer breadth of what landed at I/O this year would make anyone’s head spin.
Welcome to the agentic Gemini era. Buckle up.
The Numbers Are Staggering
Before getting to the products, the scale matters. Two years ago, Google was processing 9.7 trillion tokens a month across its surfaces. At last year’s I/O, it had grown to roughly 480 trillion. Today, that figure has jumped sevenfold to over 3.2 quadrillion tokens per month. Over 8.5 million developers are now building apps with Google’s models monthly, and the company’s model APIs are processing roughly 19 billion tokens per minute.
These are not vanity metrics. They represent real adoption at a speed that the industry has rarely seen before.

The headline model of the day is Gemini 3.5 Flash. According to Google, it outperforms the older Gemini 3.1 Pro across almost all benchmarks, with particular leaps in coding tasks. The really striking number is speed. Google says 3.5 Flash is four times faster than comparable frontier models when measured by output tokens per second, making it simultaneously one of the most capable and most nimble AI models available right now.
The cost angle is just as compelling. Google pointed out that companies shifting 80% of their workloads from other frontier models to 3.5 Flash could save over one billion dollars annually. That is not a rounding error. Gemini 3.5 Flash is available today across Google’s products and APIs, with Gemini 3.5 Pro following next month.
Gemini Spark: Your AI Agent That Never Sleeps
The product generating the most excitement is Gemini Spark, a personal AI agent baked into the Gemini app that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on dedicated virtual machines in Google Cloud. You do not need to leave your laptop open. Spark is powered by Gemini 3.5 and the new Google Antigravity platform, designed to handle long-horizon tasks quietly in the background while you get on with your life.
It integrates with Google’s own tools from the start, with third-party MCP support arriving in the coming weeks. On Android, users will be able to monitor task progress through a new UI layer called Android Halo, launching later this year. Later this summer, Spark will operate directly within Chrome, acting as a fully agentic browser companion.
The Gemini Spark beta is rolling out to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US next week.
Gemini Omni: When AI Learns to Dream in Video
Google also introduced Gemini Omni, a new model capable of generating output in any modality from any input. The first launch, Gemini Omni Flash, starts with video outputs and will expand to images and text over time. It fuses Gemini’s language intelligence with Google’s generative media models into something that feels genuinely new. You can try it today in the Gemini app, Google Flow, and YouTube Shorts. API access for developers and enterprises is coming in the next few weeks.
Ask YouTube and Docs Live: AI Meets Everyday Products
Google did not stop at model announcements. Ask YouTube entirely reimagines how users discover content on the platform. Instead of scrolling through search results and hoping for the best, Ask YouTube surfaces the most relevant moment in a video, surfaced specifically for your question. It begins US testing this summer.
In Google Docs, a new feature called Docs Live lets users verbally brain dump their thoughts and have Gemini organise, structure and write from that raw audio. No more wrestling with a blank page. Docs Live rolls out to subscribers this summer, with similar voice capabilities heading to Gmail and Keep at the same time.

Google Search itself is entering the agentic era in a meaningful way. Information agents in Search are personalised AI agents working in the background around the clock to find information and trigger actions at exactly the right moment. These agents roll out this summer, initially for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Search will also gain generative UI capabilities, building custom layouts and interactive visuals for individual queries. These tools will be free for everyone this summer, with persistent custom dashboards and trackers coming first for Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US.
SynthID Now Has OpenAI as a Partner
In a surprising cross-industry development, Google announced that OpenAI, Kakao and Eleven Labs are all adopting SynthID, Google’s invisible AI watermarking technology. Since its launch three years ago, SynthID has watermarked over one hundred billion pieces of content. Google is now expanding Content Credentials and SynthID verification into Search and Chrome, giving users an easy way to verify whether content was created by AI or a camera.
The Infrastructure Behind It All
To support this AI wave, Google’s capital expenditure is expected to hit between $180 billion and $190 billion this year, roughly six times its 2022 figure. The company also announced its eighth generation of TPUs, with a dual chip approach: TPU 8t for training, which offers nearly three times the raw compute of the previous generation, and TPU 8i for inference, optimised for speed and efficiency. Both deliver up to two times better performance per watt.
Google I/O 2026 in One Sentence
If this year’s I/O had a thesis, it was this: AI should not be a destination you visit. It should be the infrastructure you live inside. Google has made a very bold, very expensive, and frankly very coherent bet that agentic AI is the next computing paradigm. Whether Gemini Spark becomes as indispensable as Google Search once did remains a genuinely interesting question. But after today, dismissing the possibility feels considerably harder than it did yesterday.
OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite Review: Stunning looks, reliable performance
OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite Review: Design and Display
Box Contents
- Smartphone
- 45W power adapter
- USB-C to USB-A cable
- Clear plastic cover
- SIM ejector
- Quick guide
The Nord CE6 Lite is one of the most aesthetically sound phones we’ve seen this year, and, dare we say, better than most of the flagships on the market. While it has a plastic back panel, the matte finish lends it a sublime in-hand feel. The OnePlus logo embossed at the centre of the panel has a contrasting glossy texture. The pill-shaped camera island is the only one of its kind in OnePlus’s current lineup. It adds a touch of flair and gives the device a unique personality.
The plastic frame houses the volume rocker and the side button on its right edge. The bottom edge houses the hybrid SIM tray (with microSD card support), primary microphone, USB-C port, and speaker grille. The secondary speaker and noise-cancelling microphone are positioned up top. Unlike the Nord CE4 Lite, this smartphone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the bright side, its dust and water resistance rating has been upgraded to IP64. The device is also compliant with MIL-STD-810H durability standards.
The 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel on the Nord CE6 Lite is a far cry from the 6.67-inch AMOLED display we saw on the Nord CE4 Lite. It has a higher refresh rate at 144Hz, but its brightness is capped at 1,000 nits in High Brightness Mode. As a result, the screen feels a bit dim when you pull it out in bright outdoor conditions. On the ‘bright’ side, this isn’t an issue in indoor conditions. The bottom edge of the display has a slightly chunky bezel, which feels a bit dated. Speaking of dated, this device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of an under-display optical unit.
The 1,080 x 2,400p LCD panel provides a decent viewing experience. The visuals are packed with vibrant colours and sharp details. However, if you’re looking for punchier contrast and finer dynamic range, an AMOLED display would be more suited to your needs. The stereo speaker setup on the Nord CE6 Lite is an improvement over the solo, bottom-firing speaker of its predecessor. The audio output is slightly boxy, but good enough for streaming content across platforms like Netflix, JioHostar, and YouTube.
OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite Review: Performance and Cameras
At the heart of the Nord CE6 Lite lies the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset. It comes in 3 RAM (LPDDR4X) and storage (UFS 3.1) variants:- 6GB + 128GB: Rs 20,999
- 8GB + 128GB: Rs 22, 999
- 8GB + 256GB: Rs 25,999
- AnTuTu 3D: 1020272
- Geekbench 6: 1026 (single-core) | 2971 (multi-core)
The Nord CE6 Lite is able to handle everyday tasks like calling, instant messaging, emailing, web browsing, and media streaming. Opening Instagram and browsing through Reels is a fluid and seamless experience. The same goes for video calls on WhatsApp and other third-party messengers. The UFS 3.1 storage configuration ensures that apps don’t take a long time to load. We did encounter a couple of odd jitters, but they didn’t take away from an otherwise good overall performance.
When it comes to gaming, the Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset is well-equipped to handle titles like Call of Duty Mobile and BGMI. OnePlus says that the Nord CE6 Lite will be able to run these two titles at 90fps by the end of May. Endless runner games like Subway Surfers can be enjoyed at a stunning 144fps frame rate. The 5300mm² vapour chamber does its best to keep things cool, but the back panel starts to warm up after the 20-minute mark. We can give the device some grace since we’re in the middle of an intense summer, with temperatures soaring above 40°C.
The Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 handles the software duties on this device. OnePlus has promised 2 major OS updates along with 3 years of security patches. There are a bunch of bloatware apps that come pre-installed on the phone – something that’s inescapable in the budget segment. We recommend taking the time to uninstall these apps while setting up the device.
OxygenOS 16 feels light, vibrant, and well-optimised. We like that its app drawer has a separate ‘Categories’ panel inspired by iOS. The slick transitions and animations make general browsing a fun experience. You also get attractive ‘Flux’ themes for the lock screen and a good collection of wallpapers for the home page. Since the device does not have an AMOLED screen, it misses out on Always On Display.
The OnePlus AI package consists of useful tools like AI Writer, AI Translate, and AI VoiceScribe. OnePlus’s ‘Mind Space’ is the only omission here. The AI Editor in the native Photos app has tools to remove reflection and unwanted objects, and boost the details of your pictures. You can also glow up your portraits using the aptly titled ‘AI Portrait Glow’ tool. You also get Google’s Circle to Search and Gemini Assistant out of the box.
The Nord CE6 Lite packs a large 7,000mAh battery that holds enough juice to coast through the day with ease. You will have to try hard to drain this phone in a day. Even if your screen time exceeds 8 hours, you will be left with some charge in the tank before bed. We were able to get 2 days of battery life from this device on moderate usage. The battery pack supports 45W wired charging, a step down from the 80W charging support on the Nord CE4 Lite. It took us almost 2 hours to fully charge the phone using the 45W adapter provided in the box.
The camera island on the back panel houses a 50MP Omnivision OV50D40 primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. In comparison, the Nord CE4 Lite employed a 50MP Sony LYT600 sensor for its main camera. The primary shooter on the Nord CE6 Lite takes good pictures in outdoor daylight conditions. The images have a natural tone to them, which is preferable over overprocessed images that end up looking artificial. We were happy with the contrast and the dynamic range, too. The camera struggles in limited lighting conditions, largely due to the lack of OIS. The resulting shots are hazy, grainy, and dim.

Verdict
Even though the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite makes significant tradeoffs on the spec sheet, it manages to deliver a great performance for the price. The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset handles routine tasks without a hassle. 90fps support for gaming titles like BGMI and Call of Duty is a bonus. The massive 7,000mAh battery pack easily lasts 2 days on moderate usage. The main camera is reliable in outdoor daylight conditions. However, the Nord CE6 Lite’s strongest suit is its aesthetic appeal. The flat back panel with its matte texture and sleek camera pill is easily one of the best designs we’ve seen this year. Buy on the OnePlus eStore for Rs 20,999Pros
- Looks great
- Big battery
- 90fps support for BGMI and Call of Duty Mobile
Cons
- LCD instead of AMOLED display
- Missing under-display fingerprint scanner

India’s budget smartphone market has seen its fair share of “durable” phones. Most of them survive exactly one drop before becoming an expensive paperweight. itel, however, appears to be playing by a different rulebook with its freshly launched A100 Pro, a sub-Rs 10,000 smartphones that ship with a genuine MIL-STD-810H military grade certification and a price tag of just Rs. 8,999. If your phone has been living in a case that costs more than the phone itself, this one might be worth your attention.
What Is the MIL-STD-810H Certification and Why Does It Matter?
The MIL-STD-810H military-grade smartphone under 10000 rupees category remains surprisingly thin, making the A100 Pro’s achievement notable. The MIL-STD-810H is a US Department of Defence standard that puts devices through gruelling testing cycles, including repeated drop tests from 1.22 metres, extreme temperature operation above 43 degrees Celsius, sub-zero storage conditions, and high humidity endurance up to 95 per cent. In short, it is not a sticker slapped on a glossy box. Passing these tests means the A100 Pro has been engineered to genuinely absorb the knocks, spills, and chaos of real-world daily life.
For millions of Indian consumers who use their phones in construction sites, fields, workshops, and unpredictable monsoon conditions, this is not a luxury feature. It is a practical necessity.

The itel A100 Pro sports a 6.6-inch HD+ IPS display running at a 90Hz refresh rate, which delivers noticeably smoother scrolling and video playback compared to standard 60Hz panels at this price point. The Dynamic Bar feature surfaces live updates such as battery status, incoming calls, and notifications without pulling you out of what you are doing. At just 8.49mm in thickness, it is slimmer than several phones that cost three times as much.
Colour choices are bold and considered: Comet Orange, Cloud White, and Black. The Comet Orange variant in particular looks like it was designed for people who are tired of every budget phone looking like a slab of anthracite.
Performance, Camera, and Smart Features
Under the hood, the A100 Pro runs on the Unisoc T7100 octa-core processor paired with 3GB RAM and an additional 5GB of virtual RAM, giving an effective 8GB for multitasking. Storage sits at 64GB. The device ships with Android 15 Go, which is Google’s optimised operating system for entry-level hardware, ensuring apps launch quickly and the phone remains responsive even after extended use.
Photography is handled by an 8MP rear camera with advanced image processing, alongside a 5MP front shooter for video calls and selfies. These numbers are modest, but the image processing improvements mean colours come out more accurate and vibrant than raw megapixels alone would suggest.
One of the more interesting additions is the Ultralink feature. Designed for areas with weak or absent network coverage, Ultralink allows users to stay connected via alternative connectivity methods. It is particularly useful in elevators, basements, rural areas, and locations where standard mobile signals drop out. Think of it as a safety net for your communication when conventional networks give up.
The IR blaster is another practical inclusion, turning the phone into a universal remote for televisions, air conditioners, and other household appliances. The DTS-powered single speaker rounds out the multimedia experience with cleaner, fuller audio than most phones at this price manage.
Security is handled through a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick, one-handed unlocking and face unlock for those moments when your hands are full. Battery life is supported by a sizeable 5,000 mAh cell with a 10W charger included in the box.
The Numbers That Back Up the Hype
itel’s credibility here is supported by independent data. The CMR Durability Index report gave itel scores of 0.65 in feature phones and 0.86 in smartphones, the highest in the under-Rs. 10,000 segment. Among surveyed consumers, 85 per cent reported strong value for money, 81 per cent associated the brand with strength and durability, and 74 per cent described it as trustworthy and reliable.
The brand currently serves over 150 million customers across India through more than 1.3 lakh retail outlets and 1,000-plus service centres. That footprint means finding a replacement part or service centre is rarely a problem, even outside major cities.
Free Screen Replacement Within 100 Days
One guarantee that stands out is itel’s free screen replacement offer within 100 days of purchase. Screen repairs are typically among the costliest mishaps for budget phone users. Bundling that assurance into the A100 Pro’s purchase addresses one of the most common buyer anxieties at this price point.

The itel A100 Pro is available at Rs. 8,999 through retail stores across India in Comet Orange, Cloud White, and Black colour options.
What We Think
At a time when global memory prices have pushed several brands to quietly reduce specifications or bump up costs, itel has held the line at Rs. 8,999 with a military-grade certified device that ticks a surprising number of boxes. Is it going to threaten flagship photography or blaze through high-end gaming? No. But for a user who needs a reliable, handsome, durable daily driver that survives real life and still connects when signal vanishes, the A100 Pro is one of the more compelling arguments for the under-10K segment in 2026.

What to Expect (The Definites)
“Agentic” Gemini
AI is expected to play a key role in the development of autonomous agents, with noteworthy initiatives like Google’s Remy. This project is said to serve as a proactive agent capable of doing multi-step operations such as handling emails, organising appointments, and making reservations without the need for extensive human interaction. Furthermore, considerable improvements are anticipated with the upcoming release of Gemini 4 or a big update to Gemini 3.x. These upgrades aim to integrate multiple input types, such as text, code, audio, video, and photos, while also expanding contextual capabilities. Furthermore, the advanced capabilities of Gemini Intelligence are expected to call for high-premium hardware. The users should expect a minimum of 12GB RAM and high-performance CPUs so as to enable local implementation of these complex functions.Aluminum OS, Android XR and Smart Glasses Reality
Google has begun putting together to launch Aluminum OS, a new desktop operating system based on Android, which will bridge the gap between mobile and desktop. This major change will be the end of the conventional split between Android and ChromeOS. Aluminum OS is supposed to be the operating system for a new line of laptops called Googlebooks, which will be manufactured with the help of big firms such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo. What’s more, the impending event might also provide news on Android XR and smart glasses technologies, suggesting a larger approach to ecosystem integration across devices. The change is aimed at improving the user experience by providing a more integrated and unified platform to the customers. The new platform represents a deliberate change away from smartphones towards facial tech that improves user interaction. Among the main features being demoed live are real-time translation and context-aware audio and visual assistance using a system named Gemini. The smart glasses will debut alongside lifestyle eyewear created in association with prominent companies such as Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. Also expected are developer-oriented hardware, such as XReal’s Project Aura, which will cater to the demands of app developers and tech aficionados in the augmented reality space.Android 17
Google has some big improvements to its consumer OS at The Android Show, with an eye on bringing new system-wide intelligence. Gboard Rambler is a new feature that is one of the most notable – an AI-powered dictation tool meant to improve speech input by removing filler words and correcting grammar in real time to improve the user experience in text-based communication. The Create My Widget feature also uses generative AI to let users create live and functioning home screen widgets by merely typing text prompts, bringing a personalised touch to device interfaces. Another impressive feature is Chrome Auto Browse with a Gemini 3.1 panel with autonomous agents. The novelty aims to make web interactions more effective by automating repetitive operations like shopping checkouts to ease purchasing things online. The security upgrades come with default security features that include a biometric app lock and a theft protection system. The latter immediately locks the handset during unexpected theft attempts like snatch-and-run incidents and provides quick IMEI access for law enforcement on the lock screen, boosting the overall safety of users’ devices. We’re looking forward to deep updates to Veo, a generative text-to-video tool with native audio cues, and Lyria, a pro-grade music arrangement tool. Developers will also have access to improved Gemma open-source models, new Gemini API parameters and dedicated code automation tools that will be integrated into Firebase and Android Studio.Gemini Omni leak
Google may have accidentally leaked a big AI initiative, Gemini Omni, ahead of I/O 2026. The term originated in internal documents and refers to a unified multimodal framework capable of processing video, images, audio, and text simultaneously. If so, Gemini Omni might allow for a tighter integration within Google’s ecosystem than what OpenAI is doing. This strategy may unlock a wide range of Google services, from search and Android to workspaces, smart glasses, and future AI agents.Google Search upgrades, AI Mode, and Personal Intelligence
CEO Sundar Pichai has hinted that big developments about Search are coming at the upcoming I/O event, especially around the idea of personal intelligence. We anticipate changes to the search experience, including an extended AI Mode that aims to facilitate more conversational user interactions. We also anticipate additional agentic offerings to help streamline travel, restaurant and shopping straight from search. Google also wants to make its Search Live function more widely available worldwide and improve personalisation related to its Gemini project. These improvements indicate Google’s aim to evolve Search into an AI assistant that can do a multitude of tasks, rather than only providing search links.Gemini Desktop Agent
Google is developing a new product, the Gemini Desktop Agent, to directly compete with existing tools from OpenAI and Anthropic, such as Codex and Claude. This revolutionary agent is endowed with features that allow it to take control of a user’s computer, greatly increasing productivity. The Gemini Desktop Agent is trained on numerous core functions, like automated file arrangements, desktop workflows, user application navigation, and advanced multi-step productivity activities. This move is a deliberate play by Google to improve user experience and solidify its position in the AI-driven productivity sector. Google is assessing its Gemini AI model against the most recent GPT-5.5-class systems from its rival, OpenAI, demonstrating its dedication to remaining competitive in the fast-changing AI industry. Meanwhile, other sources say Anthropic’s newest models, with their advanced reasoning skills, might surpass Google’s products on several criteria. This competitive landscape, particularly around the likes of Google’s I/O, is critical to cementing Google’s market position and re-establishing its leading position in the AI industry.Google Home Speaker and Wear OS announcements expected
Google has officially confirmed a spring 2026 release timeframe for their next-generation Google Home Speaker. During the next I/O event, the firm is likely to provide key details, including final release dates, pricing information, and pre-order possibilities. The event will also showcase smart home capabilities powered by its new Gemini platform. Also expected are improvements to WearOS focused on better Gemini integration, health monitoring improvements and battery efficiency.NotebookLM and Gemini Notebooks
Google has launched a new notebook system as part of its Gemini platform, allowing thematic organisation of sources, research and files. This novel tool integrates with NotebookLM and enhances productivity with many features like summaries, podcasts, study tips, reports and AI-generated audio discussions. The collaboration between Gemini and NotebookLM is poised to be a major productivity benefit for users, providing a useful resource for effectively organising and accessing information. - Google is moving its I/O event away from consumer-focused retail products. There will be no preview of the Pixel 11, and the mid-range Pixel series will skip regular launches, indicating dedicated hardware is planned for the future.
- Additionally, this event will not include the next generation of foldable gadgets, like the rumoured Pixel Fold.
- On the software front, Android upgrades will no longer be promoted as minor user interface improvements but will instead focus on features like Gemini Intelligence and the development of cross-device continuity.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the difference between Project Remy and the Gemini Desktop Agent?
Both Project Remy and the Gemini Desktop Agent are autonomous AI tools, but with different objectives. Project Remy is targeted at smartphone users and allows them to navigate via third-party applications and automate things like airline reservations. The Gemini Desktop Agent, in contrast, is a computer-control tool like Anthropic’s Claude Cowork with the ability to manage mouse pointers, organise files, and conduct activities in desktop environments.
What is Gemini Omni?
Gemini Omni is allegedly an artificial intelligence project created by Google that was recently leaked. The project aims to build a complex AI system capable of combining different media, including video, audio, images, and text. Gemini Omni’s major goal is to be a multimodal AI, capable of processing and understanding various sorts of data inputs concurrently, hence increasing its usefulness and efficacy across a range of applications.
What exactly is Aluminum OS, and how does it change Googlebooks?
Google’s Aluminum OS is the unified operating system that replaces the old ChromeOS architecture with a desktop-like version of Android. This new system is aimed at a new category of laptops, called Googlebooks, which will be built in partnership with the likes of Asus, Acer, HP, Dell and Lenovo. Aluminum OS has built-in mobile app optimisation, desktop-grade performance and specialised functions like the Magic Pointer with contextual AI features.

NYT Connections #1,073 (May 19, 2026): Use these hints, clues, and answers if it’s taking you ‘forever’ to solve the puzzle
What is Connections?
Connections is a daily word game from the New York Times. It is the most popular online game in the newspaper’s arsenal after Wordle. The rules are pretty simple to follow. You are presented with a 16-word 4×4 grid. The aim is to find the words with common connections. Each puzzle has 4 groups of 4 words with common themes. These groups are arranged by their difficulty level – Yellow being the easiest to solve, followed by Green, Blue, and Purple. You get 4 attempts to crack the code. You can play the game in the NYT Games app or on the NYT website. Here’s your grid for today
- FOREVER
- SALON
- COOK
- SURGEON
- NURSE
- DOCTOR
- FUDGE
- SUPERFUDGE
- CRY
- BLUBBER
- TROT
- ALTER
- FOUNDER
- BABBLE
- DEENIE
- TEETHIE
Some tips to keep in mind
Look for the obvious themes: Not every category in the puzzle is confusing. The Yellow and Green category words are relatively easy to spot. However, if something seems too obvious, it could be a red herring. Typically, the first two categories comprise verbs and adjectives. The misdirects are often nouns. Double-check before submitting your words: ‘Do not overthink’ is usually a good tip for solving most puzzles, but it doesn’t really apply to Connections. Before submitting a set of words, you should always check whether they fit somewhere else too. Hit a dead end? Use the shuffle button: The shuffle button at the bottom of the grid exists for a reason. Placing the words in different positions can spark new connections. Think of it as a mental refresh. New patterns will emerge, and you may be able to find a breakthrough. Tackle the Purple category with extra vigilance: The Connections team is known to serve up the toughest and most unexpected words for the Purple category. Here are some of the common tropes that you should look out for: Homophones (For example: ‘Pear’, ‘Pair’, ‘Pare’, and ‘Pere’) Words within words (For example: ‘Slip’, ‘Hear’, ‘Keyes’, and ‘Undiagnosed’ could be ‘Words containing parts of the face’) Words minus a letter (For example: ‘Anther’, ‘Easel’, ‘Hark’, and ‘Lama’ could be ‘Animals minus starting letter’) Words preceded or followed by another word (For example: ‘Face’, ‘Sports’, ‘Note’, and ‘Year’ could be ‘____ Book’)Hints for NYT Connections (#1,073) May 19, 2026

Today’s Wordle #1795 Hints (May 19): Tuesday’s Solution Means ‘Covered with Fine Powder’
Is today’s Wordle #1795 difficult?
Difficulty Rating: 3/5 The strategic risk of Puzzle #1795 is mostly a structural bottleneck rather than a complicated definition of terms. An important element is the location of the centre vowel, notably the letter ‘U’, which might restrict the momentum of the player if the first words do not clear the essential consonant pathways. This is especially the case with five-letter words in English. People get into a mental trap and can try many combinations of the same sound to find the right one. Statistics indicate that the average solve rate is 4.1 out of 6 tries globally, indicating a high failure rate among casual players. One of the main problems is that the players struggle with more conventional ending patterns like ‘-ED’ and ‘-ER’. This makes it harder for them to proceed and causes a loss of progression in the puzzle. To best deal with this strategic obstacle, players are advised to use high-utility consonant-clearing mixes on their second or third try. This strategic technique allows players to choose the limits of the target word and properly verify the position of trailing semi-vowels. This considerably increases the possibility that a player will solve the challenge successfully using this approach.Hints and Answers for Today’s Wordle May 19

Today’s Wordle Answer #1795
Today’s Wordle Answer is DUSTY Yesterday’s Wordle #1794 answer May 18 was LOATH.Origin and Etymology of DUSTY
The word itself has an interesting Germanic history, going all the way back to the Old English word “dūstig.” Its etymological descent is traceable to Proto-Germanic, where it is rendered as “vapour, smoke or fine blowing particles”. It also contains cognates in modern languages such as Dutch “stoffig” and German “dunstig”, which also reflect the idea of dustiness. For more than a thousand years, the literal word, in terms of surface debris, has remained consistent. However, the metaphorical uses started to appear in Middle English (in the 14th century), when it acquired the implications of something ancient or forgotten. This understanding of the term’s Germanic origins may be of great help to players, especially when trying to decode current five-letter game grids under time constraints, highlighting its relevance in contemporary word games and linguistic challenges. Also Read: Over 1 billion images created on ChatGPT Images 2.0 in India: Here is whyTips and tricks to solve the puzzle
With Wordle puzzles that just include the vowel “U”, standard initial words might be a hindrance to progress. If you find just one vowel in Row 2, players are advised to stop searching for vowels. The next stage to maximise probable outcomes is looking at high-probability consonant clusters. It is suggested that strategic terms such as CRISP, SLOTH or BLUNT be used to assess the pairing of consonants. Even if these words result in grey tiles, they provide you with useful information by eliminating letters in the alphabet. This helps in identifying the consonant frame so that there is greater certainty in approaching the correct solution. Why is ChatGPT Images 2.0 so popular in India?
The model is good at generating advanced images, creating text and handling multilingual prompts. The reason for its success in India is the country’s lively creative culture and active interaction with online aesthetics and pop culture. Here are some reasons why this model is gaining popularity so fast: It’s embedded directly into ChatGPT, so there’s no need to work with a separate app or workflow. It has a good understanding of natural language, including Hinglish and Indian cultural contexts. It can generate, edit and improve images while you chat in real time. The outputs are often ready for social media without further editing. It has better text rendering capabilities than previous AI image models. It’s easy to make iterations on your phone. - Conversational Image Editing: Now, users can edit images using natural language commands like “Make it more cinematic” or “Change outfit to formal”, which makes the editing process easier than before.
- Conversational Image Editing: New AI methods are useful for generating readable text in diverse situations, which simplifies designing posters, menu cards, advertisements, invitation cards, presentation slides and comic panels. One example is to create a bilingual café poster.
- Improved Regional and Cultural Awareness: The tools demonstrate a deeper understanding of Indian cultural markers such as weddings, cricket, Bollywood style and traditional wear. This insight has caused virality on social media across India.
- Image Consistency: Users may ask for consistency across many pictures, improving the usability of features like comics, branding, or storyboards.
- Strong Prompt Understanding: It allows for more informal scene descriptions instead of formal AI prompt syntax and understands things like composition and mood.
- Multi-Purpose Workflow: The power of these tools has enabled users to swap out many apps (like Canva and basic logo design tools) for one, easing the creative process for casual creators.
Best Practices:
- Use “Camera Language”: Phrases such as “shot on DSLR” and “cinematic lighting” enhance realism.
- Control Styles Explicitly, using specific style requirements produces better outcomes.
- Ask for variations: Requesting multiple variants might improve outcomes without requiring complete regeneration.
- Use Layered Prompts: Structured prompt formats improve output quality. Subject + Environment + Style + Lighting + Camera + Mood
- Use negative instructions: Specifying what to avoid is important for improving outcomes. No extra fingers, no blurry text, no watermark, and no distortion.
- Design like a professional: Telling the AI to behave like a designer may improve the quality of the results.
- Generate Transparent Assets: Useful for creators who want adaptive designs. Create a clean sticker-style mascot with a plain white background.
- Establish Consistent Branding: Users may create cohesive social media images. As an example, you may command: Create an Instagram carousel style with black and gold and minimalist text. Then continue: Create slide 2 using the same design method.
- Reference-Image Iteration: Using reference pictures may provide more focused results.
- Storytelling Prompts: Creating narrative-based prompts may improve emotional resonance in visuals. For example, an exhausted journalist is sipping tea alone at 2 a.m. while writing an article during monsoon rain.
How to Hide or Disable Instants in your Instagram DMs (and Undo Accidental Shares)
Instants Explained
Instants make it easy to share spontaneous and casual snapshots with your friends on Instagram. An Instant vanishes once it is viewed. Instagram does not let you see who viewed your snapshot. It does let you choose between two audience groups: mutual followers or close friends. You need to enter the caption before taking the picture. This is because the Instant gets shared as soon as you hit the shutter button. There is an undo button in place, in case you want to recall an image. If you want to post an Instant, you need to go through the ones that your friends have shared before getting to the camera. The pending Instants appear in the form of a stack at the bottom of the DMs page. You can react with an image before moving to the next one. If you’re not a fan of the feature and don’t want to see the image stack in your DMs, a simple right-swipe can hide it temporarily. If you want to hide it forever, follow the steps mentioned below.Hide Instagram Instants
- Launch the Instagram app on your phone and go to your profile.
- Hit the hamburger menu icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap on Content preferences.
- Turn on the toggle switch next to Hide instants in inbox.
Tired of seeing Instants in your phone’s notification shade? Here’s how you can disable them
- Launch the Instagram app on your phone and go to your profile.
- Tap the hamburger menu icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Notifications.
- Scroll down and tap on Instants.
- Select Off under Instants.
- If you don’t want to receive notifications about others reacting to your Instant, select Off under Emoji reactions.
Accidentally shared an image as an Instant? There’s one handbrake you can pull
A lot of Instagram users are understandably upset about their Instants reaching their audience without any preview. As soon as you hit the shutter button, the camera takes a picture, and the image gets sent to your audience (mutual followers or close friends, depending on what you’ve chosen). Thankfully, as soon as you take a picture, an ‘Undo’ button appears at the bottom of the screen. You can recall the picture by tapping this button. The Undo button goes away when you move to another page. You can still recall the image by visiting your Instant archives. Here’s how.- Go to your Instagram DMs and tap the Instants icon.
- Tap the archives icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Long-press an Instant.
- Hit Delete 1 photo.
- To delete multiple images, tap the icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select the images you want to delete.
- Hit the bin icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I delete an Instant?
You can hit the Undo button to take back an Instant immediately. You can also go to the archive to delete previous Instants.

How did other solvers do today?
NYT’s early testers rated today’s Connection puzzle 2.2 out of 5. This puts it in the medium difficulty level. Let us know how you fared in the comments!NYT Strands Today Answers and Hints for Monday, May 18, 2026 (Puzzle #806)
If you opened the NYT Games app this Monday morning and found yourself staring blankly at a jumble of letters that seemed to mock you silently, welcome to the club. NYT Strands puzzle 806 answers for May 18, 2026 are all about one of nature’s zestiest fruit families, and the theme clue “The daily rind” is just sharp enough to make you feel both clever and slightly foolish at the same time. Yes, today is a citrus kind of day.
What Is NYT Strands and How Does It Work?
For anyone still getting acquainted with this addictive little game, here is a quick primer. Strands is a free daily word game from the New York Times where players are handed a six-by-eight grid of letters and asked to find all the hidden theme words plus one special “spangram” that defines the entire puzzle’s concept. Every single letter in the grid gets used. Nothing is wasted. No letter is left behind.
If you get stuck mid-solve, the game lets you earn hints by finding valid four-letter or longer words that are not part of the theme. Every three such words you uncover lights up a hint token. The first hint highlights the letters of an answer without showing you how they connect, and a second hint walks you through it step by step. The catch is that your hint usage shows up in your final score, so power players tend to ration them carefully.

Today’s Theme: The Daily Rind
The theme clue for puzzle #806 is “The daily rind,” which is a wonderfully punny little phrase that nods both to the outer peel of a citrus fruit and the daily ritual of sitting down to knock out a word puzzle before your first coffee even finishes brewing. The words you are hunting are all members of a famously tangy, vitamin C-packed fruit family.
Think acidic. Think fragrant peels. Think of fruits that belong in a fruit bowl, a cocktail, or a very good marmalade.
Hints for NYT Strands #806 (Spoiler-Free)
Before the full reveal, here are some gentle nudges to help you crack today’s puzzle on your own.
The six theme words all come from the same botanical category. Some of them are grocery store regulars that you see every single week. Others are slightly more exotic entries that will make you pause, squint at the grid, and then feel very satisfied when they finally click.
Here are some non-theme words hidden in today’s grid that you can use to unlock in-game hints without burning your answers:
CAME
LENT
ROLE
POLE
ROOM
TOTE
GEAR
RATE
TINS
Play any of these to start building up your hint tokens. They are all valid words sitting in the grid, just waiting to be found.
For the spangram, here is what you need to know. It has six letters. It starts on the left side of the board in the third row and travels diagonally down to the right side of the board by the eighth row. That diagonal drift is a useful visual cue when you are scanning the grid.
NYT Strands Puzzle #806 Full Answers (Spoilers)
Right, this is the moment of truth. If you are here for the complete solution, scroll no further until you are ready.
Today’s six theme words are:
LIME
ORANGE
POMELO
TANGERINE
CLEMENTINE
KUMQUAT
Today’s spangram is CITRUS. It begins with the C in the third row and runs diagonally down to the S in the final row, spanning the full width of the board in true spangram fashion.
The Star Turns: Kumquat and Pomelo
Today’s puzzle earned an “easy” rating overall, but it had a couple of genuinely interesting curveballs tucked inside the grid. The most notable absence is the lemon. Yes, the lemon, arguably the most famous citrus fruit on the planet, did not make the cut today. That single omission instantly made the puzzle a notch trickier than it might have been.
In lemon’s place, puzzle #806 introduced two less commonly seen entries. The kumquat is a tiny, oval citrus fruit that is eaten whole, rind and all, and is widely used in marmalades and preserves. It looks like a miniature orange and packs a surprisingly punchy flavour for something so small.
The pomelo is the other standout. It is the largest citrus fruit in the world, bigger than a grapefruit, with a thick pale rind, a mildly sweet interior, and a devoted following among people who genuinely believe it deserves far more supermarket shelf space than it gets. If you have never tried one, today’s puzzle is a good excuse to pick one up on your next grocery run.

Tips for Solving NYT Strands Faster
A few strategies that experienced Strands players swear by are worth keeping in your back pocket. Start with the longest words first, as they tend to carve out larger chunks of the grid and make the remaining letters easier to work with. Pay attention to unusual letter combinations, since words like KUMQUAT and CLEMENTINE have distinctive letter patterns that stand out once you know what you are looking for. And when in doubt, let the theme guide you. Once you have a solid read on the category, you can mentally filter the grid for words that fit rather than randomly hunting.

Today’s puzzle was a bright, breezy Monday morning win. Swapping out the lemon for kumquat and pomelo was a genuinely smart design call. It kept the puzzle accessible without making it feel lazy, and discovering that pomelo holds the title of the world’s largest citrus fruit is the kind of small, satisfying fact that makes a word game feel like it actually taught you something. OxygenOS 16 rollout stopped; a bug caused serious boot loop issues for OnePlus devices
OxygenOS 16 update issue
Users of OnePlus smartphones have been having serious issues with frequent reboot cycles following the most recent firmware upgrades (16.0.7.XXX and 16.0.5.XXX). The result was that the gadgets became unusable, and there was a lot of user disappointment. OnePlus publicly acknowledged the problem on its Community forum in reaction to these concerns and swiftly decided to pause the deployment of the upgrades to avoid any further issues. Also Read: Garena Free Fire Max Redeem Codes Today May 18: Claim Post-Tournament Rewards! The company confirmed that only a limited number of devices were affected by these irregular restart and boot issues and reiterated its commitment to device stability and improved customer experience. OnePlus has not released a full list of devices affected by its latest upgrades. OxygenOS 16.0.7.XXX has been optimised for the OnePlus 15 series, with a focus on major markets like India and the United States. Meanwhile, OxygenOS version 16.0.5.XXX has been scheduled to support a larger variety of devices, including the OnePlus 13, OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus Nord CE 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 4. The business said the decision was taken until the technical team analyses the fundamental cause of the issues and sets up a fix. The investigation is being regarded as a high priority, and once the problem is rectified and the builds are tested for stability and dependability, the rollout will restart. Updates will be shared via official means. Also Read: Amazon Quiz Answers Today 18 May 2026: Participate to win Up To Rs 500 Amazon Pay Balance Most significantly, OnePlus recognised and apologised for the inconvenience and concern caused to consumers by this situation and is taking it very seriously. Additionally, there will be a full assessment and improvement of testing and quality assurance procedures to minimise the possibility of such incidents going forward. What is the bug?
The latest OxygenOS upgrades (16.0.7.XXX and 16.0.5.XXX) have caused boot loops, unexpected restarts, and freezing during boot, leaving devices locked on the OnePlus logo. Due to these issues, OnePlus has paused these upgrades.Possible causes include:
The reasons for the breakdown might be the following: corrupted system partition after the OTA update, kernel or boot image mismatch, unsuccessful optimisation on the initial boot, rollback protection error, and memory and process management problems in OxygenOS 16. There have been more user reports of UI slowness, overheating, app freezing, animation stutters, and random system hangs prior to rebooting. Also Read: Wordle #1794 Hints: Monday’s Solution Means ‘Extremely Unwilling’ (May 18)How to fix it?
- To fix the problem, if you haven’t updated yet, don’t install versions 16.0.7.xxx or 16.0.5.xxx. The safest option is to wait for a patched release from OnePlus.
- To fix a rebooting but still usable phone, follow these steps in order: first, clear the cache partition. Next, turn the phone off. Then, to enter Recovery Mode, press the Power and Volume Down keys simultaneously. Select “Wipe cache” and then reset the device. This process may resolve issues usually caused by corrupted cache files after an upgrade.
- Disabling RAM expansion temporarily may assist in stabilising some OxygenOS builds that have instability concerns. To accomplish this, go to Settings, then About Device, then RAM, and then RAM Expansion. Turn off the option and restart the device to implement the changes.
- To reset app optimisation, go to Settings and then click Apps & App Management. Clear the caches of the System Launcher, System UI, and Google Play Services. After completing these instructions, reboot your smartphone.
- If your OnePlus phone is stuck on the logo and entering a boot loop, try executing a force restart. To do this, press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds. If the device restarts normally, back up your data right away and avoid restarting the phone to avoid recurrence issues.
- If the boot loop persists, turn off the device and enter Recovery Mode by holding the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously. Once in Recovery Mode, try the following options: Option A is to reboot the system and retry. Option B includes erasing the cache, which is a more secure option. Option C is a factory reset, which should only be used as a last option since it erases all data from the device.

If the software is already installed and stable, users should avoid doing a factory reset unless absolutely required and downgrading unless there is an approved option available. It is suggested that data be backed up immediately. A fix is expected to come as a patched OTA update from the OnePlus Community after validation is completed. [Latest update on OxygenOS 16 issues: As per the latest OnePlus community post, following an exhaustive investigation, the firm has re-initiated the rollout for versions 16.0.7.xxx and 16.0.5.xxx. It addressed the issue which was mentioned above. Internal monitoring identified abnormal behaviour in a build not yet publicly available, leading to a preventive pause in the rollout. The company said the move was to focus on device reliability and improve the user experience. The thorough verification processes ensured no effect on external users, who may continue to use their devices without a hitch. The roll-out began to restart gradually today.]Garena Free Fire Max Redeem Codes Today May 18: Claim Post-Tournament Rewards!
