EZVIZ C1C-B indoor smart camera review: Design
Out of the box, the EZVIZ C1C-B CCTV camera looks like most in the bracket with its own design elements. It is a circular smart surveillance camera that has a superior magnetic base and can be placed on most metal surfaces and stays fixed. Yes, it is not a PTZ camera, so it will keep an eye on one direction only with a 108-degree field of view (FOV).
The main camera is attached to the base through a 360-degree rotating neck which can move on the X and Y axis as well. This is great if you want to put the camera at an awkward angle to keep an eye on a wider area. The EZVIZ C1C-B camera also has a large speaker on the back. Here users will also get to see the microSD card slot, USB Type-B charging point and the reset button. The front of the camera is dressed in black with the rest of the body in white. The front also has an LED indicator and microphone for a two-way conversation.
With the EZVIZ C1C-B camera, users also get a 5W charger with a super long 3-meter wire. Also, a metal plate is supplied in the box in case you do not have a metal base to place the camera on. Otherwise, you can set it straight in on a table as well, since the EZVIZ C1C-B smart camera has rubberised feet as well to keep it firm on a flat surface.
EZVIZ C1C-B indoor smart camera review: Performance
Moving to the performance of the EZVIZ C1C-B smart indoor camera, let’s first talk about its setup process. You would need to download the EZVIZ app on your device from App Store or Play Store for monitoring on your mobile or tablet. You can monitor the camera from anywhere in the world with an active internet connection.
Setting it up is very easy, you need to follow a few steps given in the guide that comes in the box. We already have an account with EZVIZ so those 2-3 steps were cut down for us, but if you are a new user, you would need to create an account. Just make sure your mobile and the EZVIZ C1C-B camera are on the same wireless network for it to work perfectly for the first time.
The EZVIZ C1C-B camera supports up to 256GB of microSD storage. We installed a 64GB of storage, which is good for up to 5 days of continuous recording. However, we opted for recording when the camera detects movement, which bumped up the days to about 14. We tested the camera in three stages, the day state when there is good indoor/outdoor lighting. The results here were superb since this camera supports 1080P FHD recording and things up to 60-70 feet were very clear.

However, in the second test (night mode), the visibility fell down to about 20 feet of clarity. Yes, there is an IR emitter in the EZVIZ C1C-B CCTV camera, but that is good for up to 20 feet, anything over that becomes a bit blurry. But still, it can capture good detail during night time too.
The third test was the two-way conversation. Here, this camera does shine. We were able to talk to the person on the side and hear them with ease. Though there was 0.5 second lag at times, still it worked well. The playback function works well on most counts, it is just when you want to play it at 2X, 4X or higher speed, it gives an odd bug at times.
EZVIZ C1C-B smart indoor camera supports 108-degree FOV, which is great as you can see almost everything as a human would see. Also, the camera uses H.265 standard to record, which has a superior compression rate and takes less pace yet provides a good FHD picture. With the device, the option of cloud storage is also available, but for that, you would need to pay an additional fee. EZVIZ claims that the camera only consumes 3W when operational, which is not bad.
Verdict
All in all the EZVIZ C1C-B indoor smart camera impressed us on various counts. Its picture quality, ease of setup and 2-way conversation capabilities. Just find any metal base or wall surface and place it, and start recording. Also, At Rs 2,750 it is a very good inexpensive option to pick up for your home. If you have elderly people, infants or pets at home, this is a great monitoring device for you. Over that, you can put multiple of these in each room of the house and monitor every camera from just one app.
