Logitech has announced the launch of its new gaming mouse in the market that has a lesser carbon footprint. The company has introduced  Logitech G PRO Wireless Gaming Mouse designed for esports gaming. The device features a  new carbon impact label which the company introduced to its product last year.  Commenting on the launch Logitech said, “Logitech is excited to report that the Logitech G PRO Wireless Gaming Mouse is the first Logitech product to feature this new carbon impact label and is now available in stores. Logitech G PRO Wireless Gaming Mouse is one of six gaming products with carbon impact labels rolling out in this quarter, features a number at the top of the label that indicates the product’s full lifecycle carbon footprint in kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (kg CO2e) taking a typical two-year use period, 7.84 kg CO2e being the measurement for the Logitech PRO Wireless gaming mouse, which is approximately equivalent to a gallon of gas.” Logitech G PRO Wireless Gaming Mouse with PowerPlay wireless charging technology launched The Logitech G PRO Wireless Gaming Mouse uses Hero 25K sensor that supports 100 to 25,400dpi sensitivity along with zero smoothings, acceleration, or filtering. As said earlier the gaming mouse is designed to withstand pro esports players during training and tournaments. Now you can easily avoid bumping into someone on Tinder: Here is how you can block your ex, relatives and colleagues on Tinder

The online dating application Tinder is now rolling out a very useful feature on its platform taking the edge of running into your ex, relatives and colleagues. The dating app has come up with the functionality to block them up by their contact number to avoid awkwardly swiping.  We all know Tinder is an online dating app that allows you to swipe anonymously swipe to like or dislike other profiles based on their photos, a small bio, and common interests. So to avoid this unfortunate run-in during this year’s post-pandemic the platform has rolled out a new feature that allows members to block personal contacts in the app. According to its survey Tinder has discovered that more than 40% of respondents have come across an ex-partner on a dating app. Another 24% have seen a family member or colleague, and one in ten have even encountered their professor’s profile. Awkward. Given the chance, 78% of those surveyed would prefer to not see, or be seen by, these connections on an app. So keeping these cumbersome situations in mind it has come up with the feature. As per the dating app, the new Block Contacts feature will give more control to its member over their experience with peace of mind by helping create a worry-free space for them to spark new connections.  The Block Contacts feature on Tinder will be accessible within the profile setting from where the member will be able to enter their contact which they’d rather not see, or not be seen by, on the dating app. As per the company, if those contacts are already on Tinder or decide to download it later using the same contact info, they won’t appear as a potential match. This feature was initially tested in India, Korea and Japan, members who adopted the Block Contacts feature on Tinder added about a dozen contacts to their block list and now the feature is being rolled out globally.  So if you choose to block a contact they won’t be notified that you blocked them and this will also not affect your existing matches or messages. However, if the contact info you use to block someone doesn’t match the info they used to sign up,  Tinder won’t be able to stop you from seeing each other. The blog noted, “If you opt-in to the feature, we use your contact list so that you can quickly and easily select contacts you’d like to avoid on Tinder. Each time you visit Block Contacts, we’ll pull your list of contacts from your device so that you can pick who you would like to block. When you leave the feature, we’ll only keep the contact information for the people you have blocked (name, email and/or phone number). We’ll use this information to help prevent you from seeing your blocked contacts and from them seeing you (assuming they created an account with the same contact info you uploaded).”

How to block your contacts on Tinder?

First of all, you need to share the contact list from your device to Tinder and then you can block someone from your contacts.
  • Launch the Tinder app on your device.
  • Now click on the profile icon
  • Go to Settings
  • In the settings now scroll down and select Block COntacts
  • Now allow Tinder to access your contacts
  • Under the “Contacts” tab, select people you want to avoid from your contact list
  • Tap “Block Contacts”
It should also be noted that every time you use the feature the app will fetch your contact list from your device so that you can pick who you’d like to block. Whereas when you opt-out of the feature the dating app will only keep the contacts information for the people you have blocked (name, email and/or phone number). Considering your privacy we have also jotted down few more steps to block someone without sharing your whole contact list with Tinder. So here it goes:

How to manually add a contact and block on Tinder?

  • Follow the above mentioned first three steps
  • Now tap on the + icon at the top of the screen
  • Then add the person’s contact info and tap “Done”

Google to follow Apple footsteps and will allow Android users to opt-out of Advertising tracking, later this year

Soon Android users will be capable of opting out of advertising tracking similar to iOS users. The functionality is said to be available later this year with a Google Play Services update. Apple already offers its iPhone users the option to opt-out of being tracked by advertisers to strengthen privacy on its devices. According to the Alphabet Inc. support website, the new privacy option will come into effect in late 2021. When this feature is executed the Android user will have the control to block tracking by opting out of personalisations. The developers will then stop seeing the user’s unique advertising ID if the user restricted tracking and receive personalized ads on their device.  For those who are unaware of advertising ID, it is a unique user-resettable ID for advertising, provided by Google Play services which are used by the developers to track and set out personalised ads on the user’s device. According to the company, the advertising ID gives users better controls and provides developers with a simple, standard system to continue to monetise their apps. So when the feature is enabled it will allow users to reset their identifier or opt-out of personalised ads (formerly known as interest-based ads) within Google Play apps. The company via its support page said, “ Starting in late 2021 when a user opts out of interest-based advertising or ads personalization, the advertising identifier will not be available. You will receive a string of zeros in place of the identifier.” When the update is dropped in the advertising ID will be removed when a user opts out of personalisation using advertising ID in Android settings.  If any attempt is made to access the identifier will receive a string of zeros instead of the identifier. Also, the developers and ad/analytics service providers will be able to receive notifications for opt-out preferences. In addition to this apps targeting Android 12 will be required to proclaim a Google Play services normal permission in the manifest file. As per Google the feature will be rolled out in a phased manner and affect apps running on Android 12 devices starting in late 2021 and will expand to affect apps running on devices that support Google Play in early 2022. The company also assures that it will provide an alternative solution to support essential use cases such as analytics and fraud prevention in July. The feature is very similar to the Apple iPhone called App Tracking Transparency (ATT) that needs users to give direct permission before allowing apps to track them for showing personalised advertisements.  For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on TwitterFacebook and Instagram. For newest tech & gadget videos subscribe to our YouTube Channel.
