The registration for the second group of COVID-19 vaccination began at 09:00 AM on March 1, 2021. The batch for the COVID-19 vaccination will include people falling under the following criteria:
A) aged 60 or above, and
B) aged 45 to 59 years with any of the comorbidity/comorbidities specified below.
The list of 20 comorbidities is as follows:
Heart failure with hospital admission in the past year
Post cardiac transplant/Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD)
Significant Left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVEF < 40%)
Moderate or Severe Valvular Heart Disease
Congenital heart disease with severe PAH or Idiopathic PAH
Coronary Artery Disease with past CABG/ PTCA/ MI and Hypertension/ Diabetes on treatment
Angina and Hypertension/ Diabetes treatment
CT/MRI documented stroke and Hypertension/Diabetes on treatment
Pulmonary artery hypertension and Hypertension/ Diabetes on treatment
Diabetes (>10 years or with complication) and Hypertension on treatment
Kidney/Liver/Hematopoietic stem cell transplant: Recipient/ On waitlist
End-stage Kidney Disease on hemodialysis/ CAPD
Current prolonged use of oral corticosteroids/ immunosuppressant medications
Decompensated cirrhosis
Severe respiratory disease with hospitalisations in last two years/ FEVI <50%
Lymphoma/ Leukaemia/ Myeloma
Diagnosis of any solid cancer on or after July 1, 2020, or currently on any cancer therapy
Sickle Cell Disease/ Bone marrow failure/ Aplastic Anemia/ Thalassemia Major

How to register for COVID vaccine?
If you or someone in your family fall(s) in any of the above criteria, the registration for COVID-19 vaccination can be done on the COWIN portal in the following steps:
1) Go to the COWIN portal (https://www.cowin.gov.in/home). Enter your location and click on the ‘Register Yourself’ button.
2) Enter the phone number through which you want to get verified via OTP. Click the ‘Get OTP button’.
3) Now enter your valid ID proof that can be one of the following: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, or Pension Passbook.
4) Enter your Name, Gender, and Year of Birth.
5) Click on the ‘Register’ button.
6) Once the registration is complete, your account will be created on COWIN.
7) To access your COWIN account, you will need to enter the phone number that you used during the time of registration.
8) Now you can add the beneficiaries from your family by clicking on the ‘Add More’ button. Please note that you can add as many as four beneficiaries with one mobile number, provided the ID Card Number for each beneficiary is different. Until the vaccination, you can edit or delete the records of registration.
9) Choose the ID card type and enter the ID Card number. Also, enter the beneficiary’s Name Year of Birth, and Gender.
10) If the age of the beneficiary is between 45 years to 59 years, you will need to confirm the specific comorbidity he/she is going through.
11) Click the ‘Submit’ button to complete the registration process. A token will be delivered to the beneficiary on his registered phone number as a confirmation.
This would be needed a the time of vaccination. Also, MapMyIndia now officially has nearest vaccination centre locations. This has been developed in partnership with the Govt. of India.

The process for the COVID-19 vaccine registration opens today for the general public in India. The registration for the vaccination has begun through the CoWIN portal. This is the second phase of the world largest vaccination drive, which is to include the inoculation of citizens above 60 years and comorbidities of over 45 years and above. So those who are eligible need to get themselves registered via the CoWIN portal to get the vaccination at a nearby registered centre. Besides this, the digital mapping and advanced location-based and IoT technologies MapmyIndia have also been integrated into the registration website to deliver this useful nearby vaccine centre search functionality to all.The registration for the inoculation of the eligible citizen in the country is made through the CoWIN portal. The Government of India has integrated MapMyIndia features into cowin.gov.in, their official Corona vaccination registration portal to guide the people and connect them to their nearby vaccination centres. Rohan Verma, CEO & Executive Director, MapmyIndia said, “In the fight against COVID, each one of us has a role to play. Since the pandemic entered India, MapmyIndia took upon the task of real-time geospatially mapping all corona related places – testing, treatment and isolation centres as well as containment zones. To make the critical vaccination effort seamless, MapmyIndia has put all the vaccination centres across India on MapmyIndia’s maps. Users can use the MapmyIndia App (mapmyindia.com/move) and Maps portal (maps.mapmyindia.com) to search and find nearby vaccine centres and get directions to them. They can also write reviews and report issues they face there – to help authorities get feedback and take corrective action, where required,”With the integration of MapmyIndia’s Maps APIs and technologies into the official corona vaccine registration website and app, cowin.gov.in those who will log in will be able to find nearby vaccine centres using the vaccine centre search functionality. For those who are unaware of MapmyIndia, it is a mobile application developed in India as an alternative to Google Maps. It can be downloaded from mapmyindia.com/move or visit maps.mapmyindia.com or cowin.gov.in.To search for a nearby vaccination centre one needs to enter their current locations or their address or place name or eLoc of the search interest in the search box. The eLoc is the 6-character digital address for any place across India, a precise pin code representing the doorstep of any place. Then click search/vaccination centres and a list of the nearest vaccination centres to you or the location of your interest will appear on your screen. You can click on Get Directions to further get exact turn by turn directions and real-time navigation (based on live traffic congestion and road safety hazards) to that vaccine centre.The registration process for the COVID-19 vaccine online:Those eligible citizens to get themselves registered for the COVID-19 may visit the CoWIN online portal or theAarogya Setu app. Then enter your valid mobile number and you will receive an OTP. Enter OTP to go ahead. After OTP validation a Registration of Vaccination page will appear on your screen. Now you need to enter all your details and also required to upload your Photo ID proof, ID number, and other details. Then you can choose a nearby vaccination centre from the list and select a date based on the availability. It should be noted that there is no separate app for CoWIN; the registration process needs to be done through the CoWIN website only. Else you can also register through the Aarogya Setu app. All you need to do is launch the app on your device and click on the CoWIN tab on the home screen. Now tap on the Vaccination Registration and enter your phone number and then OTP. After verification, you will be directed to the registration of vaccination page, then follow the above-mentioned steps for the registration.

Sony’s State of Play was held on February 25, 2021, where Sony Entertainment Company revealed gameplays, trailers, and release dates for its upcoming games. The event showcased ten PS4 and PS5 games including Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Solar Ash, and Deathloop. Here are the key highlights of the announcements made by the company.
1) Crash Bandicoot 4: PS5 enhancements
It is About Time the game will be launched on PlayStation 5 console and the date has been set as March 12, 2021. The upgrades you will witness in the game include 3D Audio Support, quicker loading times, adaptive triggers, save transfers, and other DualSense. You will be able to run the game at 4K resolution with a 60fps refresh rate.
2) Returnal gameplay displayed
Returnal is a third-person action game in which you play as an astronaut named Selene who exploring travels a nasty alien world. You will face enemies with different weapons in various environments.
3) Sifu introduced
Sifu is a combat game based on the Kung Fu genre as you see in Asian action movies. The game will be released this year for PS4 and PS5 consoles.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is set to be launched on PS4 and PS5 consoles on April 6, 2021. The game will offer the option between combat and pacifism. While playing, you will dominate your enemies and make them combat against each other.

The trailer of Deathloop’s Deja Vu reveals Colt’s journey through Blackreef in elegant first-person shooter gameplay. The two clever enemies confront each other to break a time loop. The game is set to launch on May 21, 2021.
10) Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade arrival

The next generation of the OnePlus smartphone series that is the OnePlus 9 is long been rumoured and has also appeared a couple of times via leaks and other mediums. The latest flagship series launch date is most likely to be declared on March 8. Also this time we are going to see as many as four devices that include the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R and the fourth on the list is its very first smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch.

Speaking of the upcoming series, as said OnePlus is expected to launch three new models: a regular variant, a Pro variant and OnePlus 9R or 9E. The third variant is also rumoured to be called the OnePlus 9 Lite however the company has not yet confirmed how many models will launch within the OnePlus 9 series.
However, the device renders may have appeared several times but in a new development, the Pro variant alleged screenshot has been spotted on the Greek website. The About Phone screen of the OnePlus 9 Pro shows the alleged screenshots shared in a report by the Greek website TechManiacs. The device is suggested to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage and to include more RAM and storage options. In addition to this, the phone will ship Android 11 out-of-the-box.
Also, the About Phone screenshots of the OnePlus 9 Pro also shares that the device will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This information contradicts a previous report stating it to have a hole-punch 6.8-inch Quad HD+ display offering 1,440×3,120 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
The screenshots further reveal that the pro variant is likely to feature a quad rear camera setup that would include a 48-megapixel, 50-megapixel, 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors having support for 8K and 4K video recording support.
A separate report suggests that all four sensors on the phone would be from the brand Hasselblad, which is a Swedish manufacturer.
The regular variant is tipped to feature a punch-hole 6.55-inch FHD+ display with 1,080 X 2,400 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is likely to include a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-charging.
Whereas the OnePlus 9R, which is also rumoured to be called the Lite variant would include a 6.5-inch 90Hz display with an FHD+ resolution. Under the hood, it is likely to equip a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC with 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage. The phone is said to boast a 5,000mAh battery with a 64-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

Facebook recently released its content creation app named BARS for budding rappers. Rumoured as a competitor of existing short video applications like TikTok, BARS is not merely a lip-syncing application to create content. The application is designed by New Product Experimentation (NPE), which is a social media company and R&D team of Facebook.
Why was the need to create the BARS app?
The conventional short-video applications like Tik-Tok and Instagram Reels led to a trend among the creators to arrange expensive equipment and studio bookings. Although these apps have in-built music, they don’t offer sufficient features for rappers. The BARS app allows budding rappers to concentrate on their lyrics and flow rather than investing their time and effort in the equipment. Besides, the app assists rappers to modulate their vocals using auto-suggested effects.
According to DJ Iyer, BARS Community Manager, “The coronavirus outbreak was one of the major reasons for developing the BARS app. I know access to high-priced recording studios and production equipment can be limited for aspiring rappers. On top of that, the global pandemic shut down live performances where we often create and share our work. How does Facebook’s BARS app work?
In contrast to short-video sharing services like Tik-Tok and Instagram Reels, BARS is particularly designed for creating videos in rapping style. To help the performers, the app provides pre-recorded rhythms and beats to deliver your words in rap style. To get the flow like a professional rapper, you get rhymes from a dictionary suggested by the application. The Challenge mode helps you develop the ability to freestyle using auto-suggested lyrics. As soon as you perform your rap, you can add various kinds of audio and visual filters to make your rap content look more attractive. Currently, the BARS app is available for download only in the US market as a beta version. If you are an iPhone user, you can download the app as well as sign up on the waitlist from the US App Store. Facebook recently announced that it will release a new consumer wearable, smart glasses, this year. Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg had said last year that the company is making glasses in partnership with Ray-Ban, a glass manufacturing brand owned by the Luxottica Group Spa.
Although several media reports had used the term ‘Augmented Reality’ to describe these smart glasses, Facebook insists on calling this new wearable “connected glasses” only.
Mark Zuckerberg announced in 2020, “We don’t have a product yet to share with you today, but I am excited to share that we have formed a multi-year partnership starting with building and releasing our first pair of smart glasses next year.”
What will be the technology behind Facebook’s smart glasses?
Facebook has displayed a consistent stand in saying that the smart glasses it will release will not implement the Augmented Reality feature. Zuckerberg even revealed in a promotional video that the smart glasses will act as internet-enabled device. There is not much information regarding the exact working of these smart glasses. However, there will certainly be no computer-generated graphics superimposed on the real-world image, commonly done by AR-implemented devices.
According to Andrew Bosworth, Vice President of Augmented and Virtual Reality at Facebook, “These are certainly connected glasses, they are certainly providing a lot of functionality, we’re being quite coy about which functionality precisely we are providing. We’re excited about it but we don’t want to over-hype it. We’re not even calling it augmented reality, we’re just calling it smart glasses”.

Facebook revealed that the upcoming smart glasses will be a significant advancement in the company’s overall research on AR, including the experimental research prototype named Project Aria. This project revolves around developing a full-fledged pair of Augmented Reality glasses. Facebook added that it will begin testing Aria in the real world with the help of Facebook employees and contractors. The challenge will be to handle issues like privacy, video recording, and design.
“We’re passionate about exploring devices that can give people better ways to connect with those closest to them. Wearables have the potential to do that. With EssilorLuxottica we have an equally ambitious partner who’ll lend their expertise and world-class brand catalogue to the first truly fashionable smart glasses,” Andrew Bosworth, Facebook’s vice president of the Reality Labs division, said in a statement.

Earlier last month Samsung Galaxy M12 made its debut in the Vietnam market. The device has been long rumored to release and will soon be making its way to the Indian market. The speculations suggest that the company has already begun the mass production of M12 in India. Also, a report suggests that Samsung is planning to launch the device in March. However, the company is yet to make an official announcement of the upcoming phone.As per a report by Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) the South Korean smartphone company, Samsung is planning to launch Galaxy M12 in India this month. This piece of information goes in line with the information shared by tipster Mukul Sharma stating the launch could happen soon. His tweet reads, “just received an Intel surrounding a new potential Samsung Galaxy M series device. Looks like Samsung is launching the Galaxy M12 with a power-efficient 8nm chipset, large 6000mAh battery and 90Hz display, all under 12K!”In addition to this, we also came across a report in the past stating that the upcoming device has also gone into mass production in India at its Noida factory. As per another tweet by Mukul Sharma, the Samsung Galaxy M12 is expected to fall under the budget segment. The device is said to be priced under Rs 12,000.Speaking of the specification, Samsung Galaxy M12 could come with similar specifications as of the variant that was launched in Vietnam last month. The device includes a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT Infinity-V Display with 720×1,600 pixels of resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It runs One UI Core on top of Android OS and is powered by an octa-core SoC whereas the speculations suggest it could be powered by an Exynos 850 SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage options. The internal memory can be expanded up to 1TB with the help of a microSD card.In terms of cameras, there is a quad-camera setup on the back of the Galaxy M12, which includes an 8-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Furthermore, there is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle with f/2.2 aperture with 123-degree of field-of-view (FoV), a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. While on the front there is an 8-megapixel camera for taking selfies and video calling with f/2.2 aperture.For connectivity there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. While the sensors onboard include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer, ambient light and a proximity sensor. The device is fuelled by a 6,000mAh battery and is touted to offer up to 58 hours of talk time on a 4G network.

2) Enter the phone number through which you want to get verified via OTP. Click the ‘Get OTP button’.
3) Now enter your valid ID proof that can be one of the following: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, or Pension Passbook.
4) Enter your Name, Gender, and Year of Birth.
5) Click on the ‘Register’ button.
6) Once the registration is complete, your account will be created on COWIN.
7) To access your COWIN account, you will need to enter the phone number that you used during the time of registration.
8) Now you can add the beneficiaries from your family by clicking on the ‘Add More’ button. Please note that you can add as many as four beneficiaries with one mobile number, provided the ID Card Number for each beneficiary is different. Until the vaccination, you can edit or delete the records of registration.
9) Choose the ID card type and enter the ID Card number. Also, enter the beneficiary’s Name Year of Birth, and Gender.
10) If the age of the beneficiary is between 45 years to 59 years, you will need to confirm the specific comorbidity he/she is going through.
11) Click the ‘Submit’ button to complete the registration process. A token will be delivered to the beneficiary on his registered phone number as a confirmation.
This would be needed a the time of vaccination. Also, MapMyIndia now officially has nearest vaccination centre locations. This has been developed in partnership with the Govt. of India.
