The Chinese smartphone company OnePlus took the wraps off its latest concept phone. The OnePlus 8T concept is the company’s second concept device. In January this year, the company unveiled its first concept phone OnePlus Concept One and the state-of-the-art device is based on the company’s existing OnePlus 8T which was launched a few months back. It is said to be inspired by natural design and offers a more natural interaction between user and device via color-shifting ECMF design and mmWave tech. On unveiling the launch of the smartphone the company said, “Now with the OnePlus 8T, we are pushing the boundaries of human interaction with mobile technology yet again. Combining design inspiration from nature and a burdenless approach to interacting with devices, the OnePlus team is building further on our first concept technology to unlock even more potential benefit for future smartphone users with our latest project – the OnePlus 8T Concept.” Starting with the form factor first, the design of the OnePlus 8T concept is inspired by these colors from the multi-hued flowing water in the hot springs of Pamukkale, Turkey. The Electronic Color, Material and Finish (ECMF) makes use of a color-changing film that contains metal oxide in the glass. The valence state of the metal ions varies under different voltages so when the metal oxide activates, the color of the glass changes from a dark blue to a light silver. The ECMF design allows the physical design of a device to work in combination with mmWave to make it more interactive. According to the company, the mmWave radar module transmits and receives electromagnetic waves. This makes the device to perceive, image, locate, and track objects by the digital signal processing (DSP) and CPU perform signal and information processing on receiving the electromagnetic waves. With the use of the mmWave module, the OnePlus 8T Concept enables touchless gesture controls. On receiving an incoming call ECMF could flash colors and users could accept or reject the call with a simple gesture. Whereas this technology can also register a user’s breathing, enabling the color to change in sync and effectively making the phone a biofeedback device. To recall in January this year OnePlus launched its first concept phone, the OnePlus Concept One, which used electrochromic glass technology. This was a color-shifting glass that gave the phone an “invisible camera.” Just like the OnePlus Concept One, the OnePlus 8T Concept will not be available for commercial sale in the market. Little by Little Nokia is entering into the electronics segment. Apart from smartphones the company has recently entered into the laptops segment with the launch of its 10th-generation Intel processors powered Nokia PureBook X14 laptop in India. The company a few months back also introduced 43-inch smart TVs and a media streamer and now it has expanded its electronics portfolio with the launch of Nokia air conditioners in the country. The new range of air conditioners will be available on Flipkart. Flipkart already has Nokia-branded smart TVs in India now becoming the brand licensee for Nokia air conditioners in India. The range of ACs is ‘Made-in-India’ and the price of the electronics device starts at Rs 30,999. The Nokia air conditioner is scheduled to be available via Flipkart starting December 29. However, the company is yet to share more details on the pricing of its new product but it is said to include five different models in different tonnages as well as a star rating. Speaking of the features, the new range of Nokia air conditioners will include 6-in-1 filters with a negative ioniser in addition to smart features such as an intelligent Motion Sensor. The users can also use their smartphones to easily operate the ACs without having the need for a remote. The air conditioners also offer mart filter clean reminder, multiple scheduler, customised user-profiles and smart diagnosis. In addition to also comes with a self-cleaning technology and it works in a voltage range of 145-265V there you get stabaliser free operations. There is a low vibration motor as well as noiseless operations. According to Flipkart the Nokia air conditioners also include a four-in-one adjustable inverter mode along with rapid room cooling and anti-corrosive copper internals. Moreover, the ACs also have an environment-friendly R-32 refrigerant with Wi-Fi connected smart climate control. You can control the air conditioner with your phone using the SmartHome+ App. It will also send notifications to your phone such as smart reminders to clean the filter, to set multiple on/ off schedules and more. The Call Of Duty Mobile India Cup Open will be hosted from January 2 to January 24 and there will be a total prize pool of Rs 10 lakhs, of which 5 lakhs will be awarded to the team achieving the first position while the remaining prize money will be distributed amongst teams between second and eighth position. After this 16 qualifying teams will then advance to the Call of Duty Mobile India Cup Pro that will kick off from February 2 to February 14. The premium one which is Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to be priced at EUR 1,399 for the 128GB storage that translates to Rs 1,26000. In addition to this, the tipster has also revealed some of the pictures of the much-anticipated smartphone S21+. The leaked renders have revealed the design of the front as well as the back of the device. In addition to this it has also shown the colour option the device will be available in. It is worth noting that the pricing of the S21+  will be comparatively lower than the existing model however the price of the ultra variant is likely to be higher that the current smartphone. The Tech giant Google at its L10n event announced a few features focusing on Indian users. The list of new features is based on Indian languages and will also let them show search results between English and more Indian languages- Tamil, Telugu, Bangla, and Marathi. It has plans to expand this support for its app in the country including Maps, Search and Lens. India is a country that has 22 official languages with dialects changing every hundred kilometers which is said to pose a formidable challenge for technology developers, who rely on commonly understood visual and spoken idioms to make tech products work universally. SO the company has announced a range of features to help deliver an even richer language experience to millions across India. These features will also improve the experience of Google products and services for Indian language users. And to do this Google has partnered with innovative local startups who are building solutions to cater to the needs of Indians in local languages. The tech giant also invested in ML & AI efforts at Google’s research center in India, to make advances in machine learning and AI models accessible to everyone across the ecosystem. Nowoward the users in India can toggle Search results between English and four additional Indian languages: Tamil, Telugu, Bangla and Marathi. Some of the users try to search in English even if they really would prefer to see results in a local language they understand because this often takes three times as long, compared to English. In the coming months, the Search will be showing relevant content in supported Indian languages where appropriate, even if the local language query is typed in English. This feature will be serving bilingual people who are comfortable reading both English and an Indian language. According to Google, this functionality will be released in five Indian languages: Hindi, Bangla, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu. In addition to this now Google is now also expanding the ability to select up to nine Indian languages in Google Maps where users can quickly and easily change their Maps experience into one of nine Indian languages, by simply opening the app, going to Settings, and tapping ‘App language’. This will also let the users to search for places, get directions and navigation, and interact with the Map in their preferred local language. Apart from this Google Lens can now help you solve math problems by simply pointing your camera right from the search bar in the Google app. To do this, Lens first turns an image of a homework question into a query. Based on the query, it will show step-by-step guides and videos to help explain the problem. Furthermore, Google has also developed Multilingual Representations for Indian Languages (or ‘MuRIL’) for India. The MuRIL will scale across languages and will provide support for transliterated text such as when writing Hindi using Roman script, which was something missing from previous models of its kind. The Multilingual model also helps in determining the sentiment of the sentence. According to the company when someone says “Achha Hua account bandh nahi hua” would previously be interpreted as having a negative meaning, but MuRIL correctly identifies this as a positive statement. Or take the ability to classify a person versus a place: ‘Shirdi Ke sai baba’ would previously be interpreted as a place, which is wrong, but MuRIL correctly interprets it as a person. The MuRIL, in the beginning, will support 16 Indian languages as well as English. For this, the company has also created a MuRIL source and it is currently available to download from the TensorFlow Hub, for free. On the software front, the mobile phone will run Android 11 out of the box. There will be an under-display fingerprint sensor too.

On the other has a German blog WinFuture together with the famous tipster Evan Blass has brought some marketing images publically of all the three flagship devices. As per the leaked images, the S21 is shown in flour colour options while the S20+ will be available in three colour options and the Ultra variant to come in two different shades. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra renders shows a quad rear camera set up with laser autofocus and an LED flash inside the module which correlates with previously leaked information. It is revealed to feature a curved display with a hole-punch positioned at the top centre to play house to a selfie camera.

In a Twitter post, he further added that Facebook can continue to track users across apps and websites as before, App Tracking Transparency in iOS 14 will just require that they ask for your permission first.     In an official blog post, Facebook spoke in support of small businesses stating that Apple’s new iOS 14 policy will have a harmful impact on many small businesses that are struggling to stay afloat and on the free internet that we all rely on more than ever. Giving an overview of what Apple is doing, Facebook mentioned that Apple is “creating a policy — enforced via iOS 14’s AppTracking Transparency — that’s about profit, not privacy. It will force businesses to turn to subscriptions and other in-app payments for revenue, meaning Apple will profit and many free services will have to start charging or exit the market.” Additionally, the Mark Zuckerberg-led company added that Apple is also hurting small businesses and publishers who are already struggling in a pandemic. “These changes will directly affect their ability to use their advertising budgets efficiently and effectively. Our studies show, without personalized ads powered by their own data, small businesses could see a cut of over 60 percent of website sales from ads. We don’t anticipate the proposed iOS 14 changes to cause a full loss of personalization but rather a move in that direction over the longer term,” said Dan Levy, VP Ads and Business Products. Asserting that Apple is not playing by their own rules, Facebook claimed that the Cupertino-based tech giant’s own personalized ad platform isn’t subject to the new iOS 14 policy. “We disagree with Apple’s approach, yet we have no choice but to show their prompt. If we don’t, we’ll face retaliation from Apple, which could only further harm the businesses we want to support. We can’t take that risk,” added Levy. In India, the Cyberpunk 2077 has now been pulled from the PlayStation store as many of its fans as well as reviewers were given limited access just ahead of its December 10 launch. The CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 has already disappointed its fans as well as industry reviewers for plaguing it with game-crashing bugs as well as graphics issues. After facing a huge backlash the CD Projekt has however apologised and promised to fix the bugs through updates. The company made a tweet via its official Twitter handle and the post said, ” we will fix bugs and crashes, and improve the overall experience. The first round of updates has just been released and the next one is coming within the next 7 days. Expect more, as we will update frequently whenever new improvements are ready After the holidays, we’ll continue working – we’ll release two large patches starting with Patch #1 in January. Garena, the developer and the publisher of Free Fire has now announced its roadmap for the upcoming esports tournament in India for 2021. According to the company during the next year, Free Fire will be hosting 4 tournaments across two pro circuits with a total prize pool of more than Rs 2 crore. According to Garena, there will be one major tournament per quarter and to do so the developer will ensure that the Free Fire fans and players alike can look forward to a steady pipeline of esports events in India throughout the year. All the four tournaments will be open to all aspiring teams and players, regardless of level and background, and will give anyone the opportunity to compete against the best on the national stage laddering up to Free Fire’s international tournament. Moreover, Garena will also be introducing other smaller scale community-focused tournaments that are as of now in the pipeline and will be revealed next year. Free Fire India Pro Esports Circuit Garena’s 2021 esports roadmap will include 2 Pro seasons. Each of which will comprise two major tournaments a Free Fire Pro League tournament and a Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) finale. Each Pro season will have a prize pool of more than Rs 1 crore. Free Fire India Pro Esports Circuit Garena’s 4 blockbuster Free Fire tournaments in India for 2021:
  • Free Fire India Championship 2021 Spring
  • Free Fire Pro League 2021 Summer
  • Free Fire India Championship 2021 Fall
  • Free Fire Pro League 2021 Winter
As per Garena, the Pro Esports Circuit will kickstart after FFIC 2021 Spring as the tournament will not have a preceding Pro League tournament. Free Fire Pro League The Free Fire Pro League tournaments will be the first tournament in which each Pro League tournament will include 18 teams. These teams will be 12 finalists from the previous season’s FFIC and the top 6 teams from the open qualifiers. Each of them will compete for a prize pool of Rs 35 lakhs and entry into the next FFIC. The top 6 teams will enter to next FFIC while the remaining teams to 12 positions will earn the right to skip the open qualifiers stage of the next FFIC by advancing directly to the closed qualifiers. Free Fire India Championship The Free Fire India Championship will be functioning as the national qualifiers for Free Fire’s international tournaments. The best teams from across the country will compete for a prize pool of Rs 75 lakhs along with the title of the best team in India and an opportunity to represent their nation internationally. In order to qualify for the FFIC league stage, the teams have to achieve their place in the top 6 in the previous season’s Free Fire Pro League tournament. The second way is to advance to and achieve the top 12 in the closed qualifiers stage of the FFIC. Free Fire India Championship According to the company, all the aspiring esports teams and players will be eligible to participate in the open qualifiers through the in-game mode, Free Fire Cup. In which the top teams from the Free Fire Cup will proceed to the closed qualifiers, where they will meet the 7th to 12th place teams in the Free Fire Pro League. These teams will compete for the remaining 12 slots in the FFIC league stage. All the 18 teams will then compete in a series of matches over the course of the league. The top 6 teams will proceed directly to the grand finals, while the remaining 12 teams will compete in the play-ins for the remaining 6 slots. Free Fire India Championship 2021 Spring Free Fire India Championship 2021 Spring Just before the beginning of FFIC 2021 Spring, the top 6 finalists from FFIC 2020 Fall will get direct entry into the FFIC 2021 Spring league stage. While the remaining 6 finalists will proceed to the closed qualifiers, where they will compete for the remaining 12 slots of the league stage, with teams that make it through the open qualifiers. The top 12 teams from the league stage will make it to the grand finals of the FFIC 2021 Spring.
